Our free Fitness Friday video series focuses each week on one aspect of fitness designed to support people living with Parkinson’s. This series is designed to build on itself and is a great tool for people with Parkinson’s, but also for physical therapists looking for ways to properly support and engage clients living with Parkinson’s.
LSVT LOUD® Certified Speech-language Pathologist Angela Halpern will guide you through exercises which are part of an LSVT LOUD therapy session for people with Parkinson’s disease. LSVT LOUD focuses on increasing your vocal loudness to a level that is normal and healthy. This helps others to be able to hear and understand what you are saying. No more “what did you say?” questions! You will discover what makes LSVT LOUD unique and effective, as well as how to find therapists who provide LSVT LOUD in-person or via tele-health. Learn how to empower yourself to keep your voice strong at www.lsvtglobal.com!

This is so helpful! It's much easier to take the time to do these exercises with Angela in the video than to get myself to sit and do them on my own. The LSVT LOUD exercises were prescribed by my SLP clinician to address recently diagnosed vocal fold atrophy. Finding this video (and watching your video of Shirley's transformation) has motivated me to give this my best effort. A thousand thanks!

Excellent! Thank you so much! My father has parkinsons. Between covid and the nearest loud therapy training being 45 minutes away, I appreciate your generosity in making this video.

I understand there are some symptoms, like insomnia and constipation, that seems to precede all Parkinson's patients DECADES before onset of any tremors.. I wonder if low-voice/mumbling would also fall in that category.
Is there any objective way of testing one's voice for hypokinetic dysarthria?
Are there any directory of speech/voice-therapists you'd recommend? Or a self-directed / virtual course that may help with speech?

Exactly ! Therapist is no need for background music since most seniors have hearing loss.
