Exactly!I laid a nice pattern down and wanted a single down strum to end and I hit a brick wall. What this software needs is the ability to play your own notes/chords or have each pattern style have their own preset endings. Because of this I give it a 7 out of 10, otherwise it sounds great
the deluxe version has preset endings, if yoiu go low enough on the scale past the lowest note, a couple notes after that is a note meant for endings in that key :)
I’m no guitarist but using this plugin to produce has worked wonders for me. I am now able to write realistic patterns for the guitarist to play for compositions. This plugin is great to use with other VSTs and/or hardware guitars if you want to play your own patterns. Add a few filters and effects and you’re good. I love it.
only1godwin You can control preset patterns and Can manipulate certain patterns. I use it to create an idea for my guitarist when I’m producing. I also have used it in production and people have thought the guitar was an actual player. It’s all in how you use it.
I love these libraries like this and picked acoustic. Would be such an amazing update if you could export the riff as a midi file. Sometimes I want to layer the same pattern with a synth. Also, a session percussionist would be another great series. There’s not many good percussion libraries out there especially ones with pre recorded grooves.

If you put the loop pattern to a quarter note then write your pattern on the piano roll doesn't it work? Or re-sample, a bit more hassle but you get the "human" feel. I don't really see how technically you would be able to create your patterns otherwise in a simpler manner than with automating manually any knob you want, which seems to be possible here. I might be missing something though I don't have the product.
This program loaded & installed itself. I pulled up my DAW, (REAPER) loaded KONTAKT & Voila! Sunburst was there & fully functioning. No looking for files, moving dils around or crashing the DAW trying to get it to recognize the plugin. I'm pointing this out because Evolution Strawberry was an exasperating pain in my ass to get up & running when I purchased it last year. Strawberry never did what I wanted it to do either. Electric Sunburst quite seems likely to.
I'm loving the patterns that this generates but is it not possible to just play midi and have it come out as the timbre of this guitar? that would be really helpful
This is perfect for me that can't play guitar. For the music I am making this is an excellent software to make 2nd and 3rd backup guitars for my lead. Very convenient to get a good riff with the press of 2 or 3 keys. Perfect for us non guitar players 👍
I really can't understand the complaints of those who say 'you can't play this instrument'. Perhaps we''re not supposed to! Remember, Native Instruments and other VST Instrument designers sometimes make instruments for different reasons/markets. For example, some 8Dio instruments are 'Session Phrases' - Session string runs pre-recorded as samples at different keys.You wouldn't want to play those on your keyboard now would you? Similarly, some Horn VST instruments are the same - they have specific phrases and Licks. This is EXACTLY the same. the key is in the title 'SESSION GUITARIST''. It is designed for producers, songwriters/ singers and musicians who do NOT play the guitar, but just want a rhythm or session guitarist. Hence the reason there is NO NEED to play the instrument ! Perhaps i'm a Drummer or Bassist and trying to create a rhythmic backing track - Session Guitarist is perfect. I don't wanna play Stairway To Heaven on it ! Would one complain about the playability of some session horns, ...or would one rather have a massive VST instrument with playable riffs and licks that sound exactly of the Vintage horns recorded by the world's great blues / horn players. because no matter how good you are a player, you cannot get this authentic sound by playing a horn or guitar VST ...on a keyboard ! If you really feel the need to 'play' a guitar on a keyboard (wtf) then there's plenty of playable VSTs out there - Vir2 Ele6tricity, and Orange samples spring to mind), But historically, 'playable' guitar VSTs which played on a keyboard tend to send quite poor and inauthentic anyway (pitch wheel key trying to emulate a guitar string bend on an electric guitar anyone? and running your finger up and down a keyboard does not sound like running your finger up and down a fretboard!?!). So as a producer/songwriter and primarily keyoboardist, i know my limits - i can play keyboard, but cannot play guitar so well, and don't wish to hire a session guitarist for a perfectly played, well-sounding, in-tune rythmn guitar ... so this is perfect for me in terms of providing a professional rhythm section sound that BLENDS perfectly in your mix
I adore this but there are some issues with boominess and resonances on several presets and patterns. There should’ve been some way to turn down the decay on the notes. They sound great solo, but can be problematic in the mix. I end up using a transient processor to shorten the sustain.
The GOOD part is that there are so many variations and adjustments you can make to the preset patterns that it can provide a seriously good proportion of the electric guitar rhythms you're ever going to need ... and quicker and easier than the Orange Tree Evolution series. There's a 50% discount offer on at the time of writing this so it's just $45. I own both Evolution Stratosphere and this and they both get used. Stratosphere is great for solo work and more intricate arrangements but is a pain for programming strumming patterns whereas Session Guitarist is great for quickly putting a rhythm down.
There is tons of guitars vst without patterns and song starter ideas for ppl wanting more. Complex song starter ideas...this is aimed at that need..use another guitar vst to play your own melodies, licks and riffs ontop..
Seriously cool - will definitely work better than running strummed acoustic through guitar rig. haha Now you guys need to release a stand alone playable guitar similar to the basses!
i just got this and its awesome HOWEVER i am totally bummed that i can just sit and play it and its patterns only.. i kind of would have waited as the project i wanted to use it on i wanted to play my own patterns lol kicking myself but not too hard..lol maybe in an update you guys could give us that ability?? ;-)

I was going to buy this, and this is cool overall, but falls short of being a tool where I can play my own riffs. My tunes/compositions always start with a riff or bass line popping into my head. I like riff based rock/funk. "If you're like me" you need the Les Paul from Orange Tree Samples. Don't buy the Strat (it lacks a cool neck pick up tone). I imagine some of the other sampled Gibson's at Orange Tree are great too. It's not the purpose of this library. I own both EW MOR libraries and, as a keyboardist who doesn't play guitar, i usually have difficulties finding a real sound with my MOR guitars. This helps a lot to achieve that without having to know how to play an actual guitar.
@@MrRicoSandoval Not for me. I don't have the time nor the interest in taking guitar lessons. And this library has worked really well for me so far. It helps me to complement the songs and music i compose when i need a rythm background guitar. If i need a more lead sound, then i turn into other libraries. Maybe it's trash for you because you needed something actually different.
Is there anyway to write your own midi parts and have it play? Or is that too difficult to make as a plugin? Do you recommend any programs that do do this?

This is just a glorified loop sampler. It's not a VST instrument like the guitars in, say, EastWest's Ministry of Rock. You can't play it yourself.
