You are Malfurion Stormrage, arch druid of the Night Elves and protector of Kalimdor. A great prophecy has foretold the return of the Burning Legion, who seek to destroy Azeroth once and for all.
For 10,000 years you have roamed the Emerald Dream, awaiting the day for your return to lead your people against the demons. However, you feel that the world has changed much during your absence. Despite Nordrassil being heavily guarded and Illidan the Betrayer sealed deep within his prison, you sense something terribly wrong that threatens your people's survival from the coming invasion.

Pity Illidan didn't realize Tyrande was killed by Malfurion. If he had, he would be more vengeful and determined and would have much more interesting part to play in the story. Right now, his character seems kinda wasted.

He was wasted. If it was up to me, instead of having a "mysterious voice" convince Malfurion to drink from the fountains, I would have had Illidan try and convince him. The fountain could still make Malfurion less compassionate but having Illidan around would help tone down the comically evil stuff to a more reasonable level and keep the story focused on actually preparing for the fight with the Legion.

And it did FAR less damage than what Malfurion did here.

Also, being blind buffs your other senses, maybe he can also smell the new look. Feel it through the seismic vibration in the ground.

He was a reasonable pacifist. He hates when humans fight each other, so he gave us a new outlet to vent our anger out on in the form of the elves.

Say what you want about Illidan's actions, at least his words makes sense. If Malfurion can just so easily turn against his people for power and even kill his former lover without a care in the world, then it should be clear, that everyone around him is just a disposable tool.
But it's not obvious because Kath'ranis isn't smart enough to think for himself. At least his stupidity makes sense since Kath'ranis is a follower, not a leader.

@@FallenStarGMV To be fair, End Game's trailer covered a lot of stuff and had a large audience so it makes sense that people would see parallels, so it's hard not to be compared to it since it's so well known.

@@ExecutorNral its pretty hidden, immediately going west when the map start, and when Malfurion says there's powerful druid nearby, go north. If I recall it's one of the secret item location on hard difficulty

All this time Illidan just wanted to gain power to stop the legion from destroying the world and yet he was stopped by his corrupted brother and he killed Illidan leaving him not knowing that Malfurion killed tyrande.

Probably more likely Kath'ranis will turn on him, not the other way around. But yeah it's becoming super obvious after this conversation. Illidan planted the seeds of doubt in him.

I can't tell if Illidan at the end is AI voice acting or someone doing their own Illidan impression.
I used speech to speech instead of text to speech. I had to do it because the AI sounded way too flat and was doing strange pauses. I can safely say it sounded even worse than my silly accent there.

@@eafesaf6934 Not necessarily. For much of WoW he played a supporting role. He was only really a main character consistently in Warcraft 3, and even then only did stuff during the Night Elven campaigns.

If Turno is about to pull a "Old Gods were behind everything" I'm going to face palm hard. The Legion were being setup as the big bad, but given his trend to discard of characters and lore with minimal, if any, explanation the moment it ceases to be useful I'm worried.
Considering how Blizzard went with the "The Jailer was behind everything all along!!!", having the Old gods be the mastermind seems less in comparison. 😂
We should have you write everything then for custom campaigns and stories.

@@FallenStarGMV Sadly being able to see what's wrong with a story doesn't mean I can write an original story. I have had a few ideas of my own in the past but they all had something that I felt wasn't good enough or too similar to existing lore for my liking. It's like the saying goes: Anyone can point out a bad story but not everyone can point out a good one. I once wrote about a group of Light Worshippers who's leader was really an Eredar, I found out a month later that the Scarlet Crusade had existed for about 10 years already. I even called the faction "Crimson Crusade" and they were even red in color too. If the unlikely event happens where Turno asks for my help happens I would happily help him. Despite my criticisms, I do want him to continue writing, this Campaign's writing is his best so far and I hope he will only continue to get better. Believe me when I say I criticize my own work more than I do other people's.
@@FallenStarGMV The only passion project of mine I ever got to a point where I could release it was a personal edit to Reign of Chaos's Orc Campaign, and that had minimal writing additions added. Most of my changes centered around making the Orcs similar to their Warcraft 1 and 2 counterparts without breaking the lore in too drastic of a way, such as not adding Warlocks to Thrall's forces. I still have a ways to go as my own abilities with the editor, particularly custom ais and more advanced scripts aren't as good as Turno's.

Constructing a campaign from the ground up with just two people is no small feat-designing terrain, creating units, and beyond that, writing dialogue and scripts.
Entertainment is the ultimate goal.
‘Malfurion’s Quest’ explores an intriguing ‘what if’: What if Malfurion were an evil character? How would he differ from Arthas, Illidan, and others? This narrative is what I envisioned as the outcome.
The Turnro saga of campaigns offers entertainment within a speculative universe, where each installment introduces a unique element.
‘Adventures of Rowan the Wise’ is intentionally a parody campaign. Should anyone take it seriously… well, I’m not sure what more to say. Uther is transformed into a chicken, after all.
‘Jeopardy for the Horde’ aligns more with a traditional Warcraft III campaign.
‘Resurrection of the Scourge’ allows you to play as the antagonists. We found it both amusing and intriguing to depict the Burning Legion experiencing internal strife, complete with an ironic twist of democratic leadership.
‘Malfurion’s Quest’ is divided into two narratives: one virtuous and the other nefarious. The latter explores a hypothetical scenario where Malfurion turns malevolent. This isn’t a tale of Malfurion’s downfall; rather, it’s the story of a ‘Fallen Malfurion’ and his response to various challenges.
We could have crafted a tale about a morally ambivalent character, which might have been more fitting for a larger team, but we chose a different path. We’ve penned a story for a character who is already beyond redemption.
The goodstoryline will also offer a fresh perspective, which you’ll have the opportunity to experience upon its release.
In the end, criticism doesn’t perturb us; the campaign is a reflection of our vision, established years ago, and will continue as such. I hope you find further enjoyment in the ongoing playthrough and the future updates we plan to release.
The custom campaign has been interesting overall but Malfurion's character development is just very bad lol

Malfurion looks like Baphomet. Return of Illidan is good, he is excellent sorcerer and fighter, he should be hard to kill.
