    I did a bit of ceramics in college and am definitely missing it. I’ve been following your cabin project and love that you happen to do ceramics too. What a great surprise and I would love to see more!

    I won first place in art ceramics NY State 1992.
    Just got a wheel after 30 years….. was an interesting experience. Wedged the clay, slapped it on the wheel. Just couldn’t remember what happens next……. Suddenly my right hand dunked in the water and off I went.
    Thinking about it was my problem. No thoughts just do!

    Would like to know weight of clay used, and a camera that looks down to see what goes on inside the vessel would be wonderful.

      this is probably around 350-400g. bc it looks like the same amount the studio i work at uses! we also usually give that amount to the customers to make a cup, or a small bowl :)

    My pottery wheel just came as we speak from Amazon. I am so nervous and excited I haven’t done pottery on a wheel or woodwork since high school and I’m 38 years old. Lol so like forever ago. I’m kind of nervous and then I ran across this content and became a sub. Thank you for showing me the way again Allie. Have a blessed day and have fun off grid that’s my goal one day. Any beginner tips for me Allie? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.

    Hi Allie.
    I watched your mug video this morning and I went to the studio.
    I loved your tips. I threw the best mugs I have ever made. I especially love how you trimmed the base. It’s so nice.
    Could you do a video about attaching handles? I bought a handle maker that I love. I don’t really like to pull them.
    The question I always have is how dry the mug is verses the handle. 🥴
    Thanks so much!

    Hi Allie! Heather from Ky. What wheel do you recommend? I'm a semi beginner and now have a very used Brent that I bought used. It's about to give out on me. Lol

      @alliejcurtin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya know I have always used a school wheel or my mom's and so I do not have a great recommendation at this time. I just bought a really cheap small one to try out and I will let you know how it goes! :) Sorry I am not more help.

    Nice but I could have done without the music. Too many pottery instructional or demonstration videos have annoying music. I'd rather hear the thrower speak about what they are doing.

      Google mute. To each their own… don’t expect to be catered to. You adjust and move along. Cheers!😊
