Nice to see the old girl get some lovin’. Wagons had a life of getting beaten on - our Country Squire was ride that three of us learned to drive on - as well as parallel park in. Had Flintstone floors and doors that were self opening on corners.
Love it. My first car I bought was during the summer of '83 was a '63 Galaxy 4 door, had the 352 v8. Great car! Reverse went out in the Cruise-O-mactic tranny in '85, sold it to a guy, he said he was going to fix it all up, it was almost rust free.
A single master cylinder and four drums. 😂Man, that reminded me of my old 1964 Chrysler New Yorker. Lost a flex line and came close to busting up that old sled. Being a young wrench, I took a master cylinder from a Cadillac, made an adapter plate for the booster, adapted the rod and lines, and drove it. It stopped well considering I knew nothing about proportioning valves.
My parents had many cars when I was growing up. My favorite was their '63 Galaxie 500 four door sedan. Sadly, my 14 year old sister sneaked it out one rainy Sunday night right after church. The parents were still at church in a business meeting. She had the preacher's daughter riding shotgun and she totaled it! They were traumatized, of course. But, so was I. BTW, RainX works good, especially when the wipes don't work.
Lucky, I have a 63 convertible myself and I would definitely recommend eliminating the offset shafts at the front of the lower control arms. That was the biggest flaw of that entire suspension system. Personally I used Fatman Fabrication arms (along with their drop spindles) but there are other ways to do it as well. If I had known about them at the time, I might have also used the CPP 13" front rotors since I have 18" front wheels but at the moment I have 11" Granada discs. Fatman just featured my car on their Facebook page today too.

P.S love the wagon!!! I have a HR HOLDEN wagon here in OZ which i love...Google em and you'll be able to see what they look like...I think mine needs a Stout SBC 😊
Nice Torrance tour, Lucky! You missed a few breweries (drove right past Project Barley’s The Pub), but no surprise Honda America didn’t get a shout out. Del Amo really is the worst by all the car shops, but then it’s the best two blocks west over by Ganahl. Should have given her the beans over the bridge!
So good to see you enjoying your "dream" wagon! That episode of HRG where they introduced it to you is a classic. You might want to make the next step after wiper blades a brake upgrade. :>)
Lucky, I enjoy your HRG show with Alex so I subscribed to your channel. Also, you mentioned in an HRG video that you speak German. Ich kann auch Deutsch--infolgedessen können wir auf Deutsch plaudern, wenn du mochtest. I found this to be a comical video--keep it up. ;) Mach's gut.
Thanks for the reply, I saw the video where you talked about the install. Did not know if you video the whole thing. I was meaning what type of trans ford 4,6,8 speed or?
Again you have saved me plan fare for my cruise around, where are we? Gardena, Torrance? I must have missed a episode, thought I was watching an old movie with that shift lever in the park position while rolling.
Get in the zone Lucky ooh my my mistake you occupy your own zone! Killer machine. How many of those wagons are left? Anyway a 63 2dr was the first stock car that had some natural aero plus the cost difference between a 2 door set up with same drive train is 2 or 3X yes? You never talk costs or values of anything. Anyway your show has entertainment value for me. Thank you. PS Southern California has the Automotive performance and aftermarket at your fingertips must help with parts and incredible knowledge
Del Taco sighting at the 2:41 mark. IMO. the second best place to get a some really good food. The best is In-N-Out Burger. Sadly neither of them are anywhere near to where I live now. 6=8.

Very cool.Rain X and a set of optional wipers. is all she needs.Rain X pretty much eliminates the need for wipers.
This Galaxy should be one of your smoothest riding street cruisers.

My first car was a 63 Galaxie sedan with the 223 six and three on the tree, best car ever. Good luck with the wagon.
Thank you!
Nothing like the shakedown run that doubles as a taco/burger/coffee run
Love the wagon. And one with a coyote engine is over the top bueno. Thanks for the ride along ✌️

Coming soon
Hey Lucky, any chance of using the Galaxie as a push car for the land speed roadster?
I'm using my 64 Colony Park for the same thing.
You should probably put those compressors under the floor...
