I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned Tony Abasi with Animals As Leaders. He's a black guitarist as well who toured with Dream Theater. His guitar playing is absolutely mind blowing as well as his band. You should definitely check out Animals As Leaders. I recommend Tooth and Claw.
