So I guess this is it. All of it finally makes sense. It's not just random fretting on the fingerboard but something understandable and systematic. I never thought that I could play actually jam out. Thank you SPJ! This made me so happy to try.
I've been learning caged for the last like 8 weeks and this is exactly how I feel right now because I finally learned it, all of it. And this is the first jam track I tried it with and it was so fun and this the top comment. Wow
Your CAGED video was a game changer for me. Thank you for being you..talented, giving, generous and down to earth. I learned more from your tutorials in 2 weeks than I had in 10 years, thank you so very much. You are an excellent Teacher. 🍎🥟
hope you one day do more of these, if not. i will cherish this one. very few chill 2 chord backing tracks in ALL of youtube. i keep coming back to this.
started playing along with this track this morning, first time to play with a backing track, got lost in the zone. I was the lead guitarist on my classical guitar. late for work.
Ayee, Hahah I’m just starting rn. And I feel better when I’m playing guitar with this backing track. I random fretting. Can u give me some tips to understand this track
It's been 8 years since I started playing from open chords to bar chords to simple solos i was fed up of imitating other artist's work and now finally i am here trying new things. I am in love with my guitar all over again. SPJ you the almighty.
Scott your such a good teacher, so clearly understood and easy to follow along. I’ve learned more from you in such a short period in time, than I have in the last five years of frustration. Thanks Scott
Finally. Jam tracks that Just focus on I-ii, or I-V. These are great and actually useful for learning your turnarounds. Love it. Keep it up. I'm gonna give you some recommendations.
@@SeattleJamTracks that would be amazing. I get a ton of questions on here about how to apply what they're learning. And most jam tracks are too complex for people just starting. I've been looking for ones just like this. Sending viewers your way.
Scott, please do a video just you jamming to this song from beginning to end. Then we can try to get the same vibe you are getting. Once I got the entire neck figured out and almost without having to look, the next BIG thing is to get a feeling for the phrasing! I still sound 50% mechanical. Thanks so much!!!! Never thought I could do this...
Bloomin' marvellous. Really enjoyed that. Adding to bookmarks. I played A Mixolydian and B Phrygian. Which sounded OK, though not sure of the theory behind that, but they had a lot of common notes whilst being based around A Major and B Minor.
this is really helping me build me scale proficiency and not only that is also helping me work on chord changes and is challenging me to find target notes and chord tones. its not the most musical thing i have ever played but im making it up on the spot and when it hits right it feels great. it makes me want to rewind the entire track and try to hit those target notes again
I play the bass and I only know the A major scale so far and it’s extremely fun to mess around and play to this oh my god I’m literally having the time of my life
I’m really happy for having found a teacher like you that have the ability to teach in a a way that anyone can learn the skills of guitar My English is not so good because I’m from Puerto Rico but I understand very well your lessons and have learned too much from you Continue being a professor like you are God bless you
hay man im jim thanks for all you do brother your helping me finally put it all together with guitar good vibes to you bro hope i can buy you a beer or two someday
I don't think you mentioned on your main channel that this is your channel too, you simply linked to this. You should encourage your subbers to come here and sub as well, and vise versa. Smart move making a separate channel for this. Keeps things tidy and increases revenue
hey , my friend just passed away & this is really touching my heart , im asking for permission to make a song with this . as all credits will be gave to you . R.I.P Donnie
Super cool stuff, new to music theory, not sure what the I-ii in A major means... is there a lesson on what it means and how/when to apply it? Thanks- Marty
in A major , the rest of the chord progression is Bm Cm D E Fm and g diminished ( which no one ever uses hahaha ) . So A major is the 1 chord , Bm and Cm are the 2 and 3 chord , D and E are the 4 and 5 chord and Fm is the 6 chord , hope that makes sense, also the way it is written , as in I ii , represents major and minor , so it would all look like this , I ii iii 4 5 vi
Bung! you’ve got it right except for one crucial thing: the key of A Major has three sharps, so the chords will actually be I = A major ii = B minor iii = C#minor IV = D major V = E major vi = F# minor vii = G# diminished You’ve got it, but you gotta make sure you make a major scale using WWHWWWH

Hi Damion - Roman numerals represent chords! Each of the 7 notes of a major scale can be made into a chord. The roman numerals represent each note of the scale, but as a chord. The A Major is the "I" chord because it's the chord based on the first note of the scale. The B minor is the "ii" chord because it's based on the 2nd note of the scale.
I know you probably won't read this since im two years late but the "I" means its the root (first chord in the scale). Its capitalized because its a major chord. And the "ii" means its the submediant (second chord in the scale). That one is _not_ capitalized because its a minor chord

I thought the same thing 😂
I know, it's crazy. I started playing the a major pentatonic on top of this and totally expected shit but it fits. It's so cool
I've been learning caged for the last like 8 weeks and this is exactly how I feel right now because I finally learned it, all of it. And this is the first jam track I tried it with and it was so fun and this the top comment. Wow
From Zero to feel-like-CarlosSantana because of SPJ.

This is so much, in so little. Thank you. 🙏🏻
It's really a great music Very cool and inspiring. THANKS Scott.
If you play any D note on the fretboard when the backing hits Bm, it sounds sweet . Good work Scott
This video is literally life changing for a guitar beginner.

This helped a lot. Thank you!
A cool trick also is using the F sharp minor scale over this... its the relative minor to A major!! Sounds sweet, let me know how it goes.
Wow i love this tricks 😘💕
Luvin it Bro should go to sleep but just wanna keep jammin

nice very chill
Super cool stuff, new to music theory, not sure what the I-ii in A major means... is there a lesson on what it means and how/when to apply it?

Very nice backing track. Am I allow to download and use this track or no?
excellent
I found this track very useful as I can move from I to ii to I in triads up and down the neck. Do you have any more I-ii tracks in other keys? Thanks
Not yet, but that sounds like a fun idea
love this backing track, are you selling it?
Can i ask for some clarification as to what is rolling across the screen. Is the scale changing from B minor to A major back and forth?
Hi Damion - Roman numerals represent chords! Each of the 7 notes of a major scale can be made into a chord. The roman numerals represent each note of the scale, but as a chord. The A Major is the "I" chord because it's the chord based on the first note of the scale. The B minor is the "ii" chord because it's based on the 2nd note of the scale.
can i request your jam in CAGED video
Till this day I use this jam track
老哥你是真的强
Muito bom... Adorei
excellent to jam to
I'm still learning, what do they mean by A (I) and Bm (ii)? Do you have to play the A chord and Bm chord
try the scale
Can i use the CAGED System to this track?
Yes itll sound great the more comfortable you become
Why does this sound bad with the A minor pentatonic scale... thought that worked over A major... what am i doing wrong?
If you're using the G shape pentatonic scale, put your 4th finger on A, not your index finger... try that?
@@SeattleJamTracks Exactly. And practice th "sense" and sound of the major scale, tryn to end your phrases on the root (A)
iim is the most melancholy. Playing minor over a major scale gives you blues sound, which in my opinion dont fit here.
I can finally solo 😃
all hail spj
Hi what does I ii mean
I know you probably won't read this since im two years late but the "I" means its the root (first chord in the scale). Its capitalized because its a major chord. And the "ii" means its the submediant (second chord in the scale). That one is _not_ capitalized because its a minor chord
