He was a former high school wrestler and football player and Army national guard. Basically, he trained non stop for almost two years. In any case, we fight and I light his ass up. I mean I was snapping his head and he had this pitiful look in his eyes I remember and then he shoots and I go against the fence with him in my rib cage. He leaned on me, kneed me, punched me, but mostly leaned on me and I couldn’t get a full breath it seemed. Anyway, I roll out back to the center and hoped to catch him again like I did during the first 45 seconds. He wanted nothing to do with that. He shot again, picked me up and dumped me. We wrestled for about 5 seconds and before I knew it he was on my back and nearly tore my damn head off. He choked the shit out of me. My throat and neck was so damn sore I couldn’t eat cereal the next morning. He told me after the fight to work on my ground game and that I panicked and made a bad mistake. I told him, “fuck you. You work on your ground game. I’m done with this shit.” Good guy. Still Facebook friends. He quit fighting a few years later.

My 1 minute rest between rounds I punch wet carpet on concrete and pushups. I hold 2 kg bells for 5 mins rounds then 1 kg for the next round and then no weight the 3rd round and I repeat this sometimes for a few hours. In other words I can fight efficiently at high pace for hours with weights on my hands where my knuckles are starting to destroy concrete . I need grapple and bjj now

The UFC needs to split up matchmaking by divisions, or numbers, so that each matchmaking team is only responsible for 100-150 fighters, or 2 division weight classes each. They need more people handling that job task. It's absolutely ridiculous for the UFC to lose out on potentially great young talents, simply because the matchmaker is constantly overwhelmed trying to match up 750 fights per year. Hire more people to be UFc's matchmakers for God's sake. BTW, who the hell is Stipe Miocic's manager? Unless Stipe is requesting that he doesn't fight, his manager needs to be publicly flogged. Stipe haad, and maintains, the longest reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion of all time. And, he defeated legends and fresh young killers, alike. Not to mention, he is 1 & 1 against Francis Ngannou, and he didn't even get a rubber match/rematch. Stipe hadn't fought since he lost to Ngannou back in 03/2021. Francis only fought once since then, and it wasn't even Stipe, it was newbie Ciryl Gane. Ngannou's been holding up the belt. And now, even though Gane unfairly passed him up and got the shot for the belt against Ngannou... AND he LOST. Gane passes up Stipe AGAIN, somehow and gets another shot for the belt, instead of Stipe!! Makes zero f'ing sense. Stipe's manager must be publicly flogged. Then, Jon Jones, as gnarly as he is, also passes up Stipe (the longest reigning HW of all time), for the belt, as well. Even though Stipe lost once again the guy who he also beat the first time they fought. Stipe is getting so screwed. But, Stipe has to make the best of it & he absolutely should still be fighting to stay relevant and active. He's getting old n has to put his foot hard on the pedal and go hard at this last run. Stipe's manager isn't even getting this right. Stipe should be fighting top guys in the meanwhile. He should be doing commercials, putting out videos of him training, etc, etc. UFC is not a sport, it's a BUSINESS. That means you as a UFC fighter need to be a great fighter, AND you need to market yourself. It's a 50/50 platform. ½ Fighting & ½ Marketing. And, a fighters manager need to be getting that through to them, no matter how private they are. As a UFC fighter, you are, first and foremost, an ENTERTAINER.. not an athlete.
I once began my trek to the UFC. I started with a perfect MMA record of 0-0 and I retired at 0-1 via strangulation submission.

The UFC needs to split up matchmaking by divisions, or numbers, so that each matchmaking team is only responsible for 100-150 fighters, or 2 division weight classes each. They need more people handling that job task. It's absolutely ridiculous for the UFC to lose out on potentially great young talents, simply because the matchmaker is constantly overwhelmed trying to match up 750 fights per year. Hire more people to be UFc's matchmakers for God's sake.
BTW, who the hell is Stipe Miocic's manager? Unless Stipe is requesting that he doesn't fight, his manager needs to be publicly flogged. Stipe haad, and maintains, the longest reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion of all time. And, he defeated legends and fresh young killers, alike. Not to mention, he is 1 & 1 against Francis Ngannou, and he didn't even get a rubber match/rematch. Stipe hadn't fought since he lost to Ngannou back in 03/2021. Francis only fought once since then, and it wasn't even Stipe, it was newbie Ciryl Gane. Ngannou's been holding up the belt. And now, even though Gane unfairly passed him up and got the shot for the belt against Ngannou... AND he LOST. Gane passes up Stipe AGAIN, somehow and gets another shot for the belt, instead of Stipe!! Makes zero f'ing sense. Stipe's manager must be publicly flogged. Then, Jon Jones, as gnarly as he is, also passes up Stipe (the longest reigning HW of all time), for the belt, as well. Even though Stipe lost once again the guy who he also beat the first time they fought. Stipe is getting so screwed.
But, Stipe has to make the best of it & he absolutely should still be fighting to stay relevant and active. He's getting old n has to put his foot hard on the pedal and go hard at this last run. Stipe's manager isn't even getting this right. Stipe should be fighting top guys in the meanwhile. He should be doing commercials, putting out videos of him training, etc, etc. UFC is not a sport, it's a BUSINESS. That means you as a UFC fighter need to be a great fighter, AND you need to market yourself. It's a 50/50 platform. ½ Fighting & ½ Marketing. And, a fighters manager need to be getting that through to them, no matter how private they are. As a UFC fighter, you are, first and foremost, an ENTERTAINER.. not an athlete.
