    Love that plant pot-where did you get it?

      Thank you Carol. I made that pot. I actually have a video on my channel showing how I make them and if you are interested I sale them on eBay. Look up Midwestbonsai2022 on eBay and you will find them. Thank you for your support for the channel it means a lot.

    There are some good vitamins you can give along with the fertilizer, but do not need to give it at the same time. It is called SuperThrive and it has alot of good reviews.

    Looks good. Bonsai would be nice.

    I have been doing bonsai and have just discovered Desert Roses and I am so excited to get started on them Have about 20 from small seedlings to 2 year old ones and one that I am guessing about 4 years old. Also ordered some seeds. How old is the one you are working on there? Why not do the root chop now as opposed to waiting? Loving your videos!!

      @@dianasmithkurtz109 This one is over 20 years old. I got it and two other ones this size from a lady that owns a nursery in Florida. I don’t plan on chopping the roots of this plant. Sometimes desert roses are grown as bonsai but in deeper pots. I haven’t decided if I will for sure grow this one as a bonsai or let it just grow as it likes for the most part. I’m glad you are getting help from the videos.

    You can use Bonsai soil the ones from Bonsai Supply and that will work great as well.

      Yes you are correct and this soil mix I used in this video I use for my bonsai trees I grow. I’ve found it’s cheaper to mix your own soil mixes especially bonsai soil then to buy it.

    Nice video! Do you think that ~30% coco coir mixed with ~70% Lava rock is a good soil mix for adenium?

    • @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777
      @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I would NOT go over 30% coco coir though and small size Lava rock. Of course you will need to fertilize. How many Desert roses do you have? Thanks for your support for the channel it means a lot 👍

    What nutrients do you add to it? Because I do not see where the clay and the bark have the nutrients.

    • @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777
      @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a fertilizer called Osmocote Plus. It’s a slow release fertilize that you sprinkle on top of the soil. It last for about 6 months. You can see me using it in some of my other videos.

    Why did you use such a small pot? Different growers would disagree with your choice.

    • @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777
      @getintothewildwithjeffruma8777  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some people believe they perform better if they aren’t in to large of a pot. I personally don’t believe it matters as long as the soil drains well and provides plenty of air to the roots as this soil mix does. The main thing is you don’t want to have wet soil around the roots. It would be even worse to have a lot of wet soil in a large pot because it would take even longer to dry. Thank you for your support for the channel. It means a lot.

      I don’t think so, because you just raise it up as it grows.
