The small ships and fighters still look nice, but the capital ships have very blurry textures and haven't aged well. Of all games, Starlancer needs a remaster.

The Predator, Coyote, Patriot, Reaper, and Shroud have auto-aim for some or all of their guns. The other classes don't, but they have other advantages such as particle cannons and increased payload.
It was sort of a fun mission...why Gamma were not used to fly the Kamov's, since they have experience flying torpedo bombers, should been the mission. I would have luv to have flown in the beganning, taking out fighters and carriers..then Alliance ships come in. Again, a wasteful sacrifice on the Endeavors part.
In this mission, you can use the rockets that you can fire and forget and they automatically lock on to a target( I forgot the name of them). They can destroy the enemy torpedoes, while you can make it to the Kamov's and destroy them. If you don't take out the enemy carriers within a certain amount of time...I think more enemy carriers jump in and you and the Yamato have to jump out of there. Too bad that you can't destroy every enemy fighter after you destroy the enemy carriers.
Don't make me crazy. This game's view is good America, bad Russia. And did You notice? All NATO and EU is in the Alliance, and the independent world is the Coalition. Now you think I hate this game but I don't. I love it, because it is action packed. But still...Why couldn't they snatch in Coalition ships into Multiplayer mode? Still not many people play (none actually), but we could at Gameranger. Still nice video.
I like Freespace, but this game's more of a successor to Wing Commander, which came before Freespace. As for the auto-aim, some of the later ships have "smart" weapons that automatically track. I think it can be turned off tho.
auto aim weapons do less dmg, so there is clearly a benefit for good manual aiming, especially if u destroy turrets and stuff. but for the black guard fighters it is more consistent to use autoaim.
I'm a bit surprised how they didn't respond to only just Kamov's, cause all the one's i've seen in these video's only travel in groups of 2 or just one and always had fighter cover.
Freespace 2 is still my fave though, with it's darker more grim storyline and intense dogfighting missions, but I still really enjoyed Starlancer too, it reminded me of the older Chris Roberts games Wing Commander. THe voice acting and story line was a bit cheese though which was unfortunate as it could have been a better game had those elements been different I thought.
Freespace 2 has the best combat&controls and a decent flight model, I-War 2 has the best flight model and decent combat&controls, Freelancer has the best world&environments.

That would be awesome. A REDUX of the original Battlezone 98 is out so who knows, this game may get one as well

I remember using the torpedos on the other capital ships, just to finally destroy them myself for once hahaha
The kamov bomber is beautiful, I must admit that the whole coalition ships are more beautiful than the Alliance.
In reality looks don't matter.
But still, they are limited by the technology of their time.
Personally, I like the Shroud and the Predator from the alliance tbh.

BTW to get more than 16but \color you need to use older video card or drivers.
yeh, unfortunately new gpus can't render the nebula backgrounds correctly. It's really off putting as it is with the bordered gradiant changes.
