One tip which helped me in many games: Talk to yourself ^^and commentate your gameplay..sounds weird but it helps with concentration, getting better mood and getting more hyped/ more energy.
Hello, I am a very shy girl and I am always thinking bad of my play in pvp. After this video I decided to give the LFR tool a try. I was very honest. No rating this saison, bad gear. I wrote I was looking for a suicide DD, in good, but mostly bad times to play with. I am a pala heal btw. A got the attention of a good geared DK. We are laughing a lot, playing 2h each day together now. He is a great supporter. He did not know anything about my pvp ratings years ago. He just looked for a funny heal mate to play with. I wish everyone to find such a cool mate. Thx a lot for this video!
I will add one more tip, which was most important for me - do not get obsessed with rating. I remember when i started 3x3 with my irl friends in WoD and we got our first 1550 achievement ever, i was very obsessed with the rating. Every loss and therefore rating loss when the achievement is 2-3 wins away caused me to rage and tilt and play worse and spiral into more losses. Just ignore the rating, don't look at it at all. Play the game, have fun and try not to bother yourself or teammates with this. When the achievement pops up then you can celebrate. It is the same thing when playing poker, if you want to get better you need to ignore the money and focus on the game.
Been playing this game for over a decade now, and I can reliably say that you make some of the best pvp content on youtube. I've learned a lot from your videos, and you do a great job of promoting the communities interests with regards to pvp changes. Thank you so much for what you do Stoopzz, keep it up bro!
Love the videos you've been putting out man. I just started playing again in prepatch and have been having fun in arenas. My teammate and I are plateauing at 2k-2.1k right now and I feel like part of the reason is lack of knowledge of classes. We have a decent idea because we've played the game for so long like pally wings and dark soul and CD's like that but I think it would be great to have a video that goes over big cooldowns and mechanics for each class and some counter play options. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Hey brotha, i just wanted to say i really appreciate the work you put into making videos as well as streams. I have always liked your attitude and your positive energy and encouragement. Personally i have had lots of toxic experiences in the arena scene and it turned me off for a long time. I came back with a different outlook and attitude and i finally hit 2k, finding a patient partner who is chill and is ok with not using voice comms. Its great how far you can really go if you put in effort to get better while being calm and patient, the toxic players really RUIN this and scared me out if it for EVER. Thanks again for what you do buddy, i will be enjoying your streams and LOVE the music you play in them. Take care, peace.
The video might be one of those "just over 10 minutes", but you've really put in effort to make those 10 minutes so full of information, they might as well be 30 minutes. Thanks buddy!
By far the most valuable content I have ran across for pvp in Shadowlands. As soon as you mentioned the compiled list of streamers... wow that was helpful because I do not know who to even begin watching! Thanks Stoopz!
I remember you talking about a lot of these exact things many moons ago. Tip #2 is probably some of the best advice I've heard anyone give in relation to WoW PVP. You've really accomplished a lot since you started that first TH-cam stream and your videos and content have become, literally, some of the best in and for this game. ❤️
Hello I am a very new player, I started in June of this year. I started with two friends and even starting in the last two months of the season on and off. I hit 1700 and I am very happy hitting that at the end of my first season. I found I got better with is staying positive, practice, and focus on yourself. You getting mad does nothing.
This is a good video, im new to arenas and I actually just hit 1500 rating in 2s last night which was big for me. To add on to "dont play with toxic players" i don't like playing with people who make a ton of excuses for themselves. In my limited time playing ppl say stuff like "that comp is broken, they need to nerf x class, etc." Its just annoying to deal with.
Yes, I agree. Coming from a MOBA (Dota 2), there are a 100 classes. Each class is simpler in design than WoW classes (they have 4 abilities each) and you can use any class straight out of the box. But if you haven't played all 100 classes and memorized all 400+ abilities in the game, you won't stand a chance against experienced players. I plan on playing both a rogue and, if I have enough spare time, also a priest. I believe that the experience of playing one class will help me learn the strengths and weaknesses of the other class as well.
as a returning player (last time played in wotlk) this whole lfg mentality rly put me off... i remember the most fun i had back then was playing together, improving as a team, using voice chat to make calls, talking about strats just slowly getting better over time and have fun. sadly thats not rly the mindset of most players these days everyone is just posting fake achievements probably boosted and after 1 lost game they leave instant because "ima healer and i can find new team fast". i just want to learn pvp again... the fact that i love enhancement sadly doesnt help much either

theres no where to find people to play with, ive joined multiple discords, and I've even joined yours, and theres still no one willing to grow as a team. everyone wants quick matches and get to 2400 in 2 days.
Hey, I'm legit curious, just came back here to try out the discord. Still gonna, but incase you're who I'm looking for what class do you play for starters? I'm an arms warr, gonna aim for 2.5/3k in half a years time or so. Not entirely sure of what's reasonable yet, there's more to it, but write a reply incase that sounds good.
It gets frustrating, I scoured lfg incessantly for like 3-4 months when I decided to do it no matter what. Went through hundreds of players before finding one that enjoyed my company and invited me to a guild. We ended up hitting 2k in season 4 and are still partnered to this day. Just here to say to stick with it, play with whoever is in your rating range, try new class partners and comps, and keep going. Also, BG'S work as a sort of mouthwash from the awfulness of LFG
I've shared this to a lot of my friends who are fresh to WoW PvP and want to get into arena. Your videos are always so professionally made and informative. Keep it up Stoopzz! You're a real asset to the PvP community dude.
Stoopzz you give some of the best info and guides. The love and support you give people and other streamers is amazing. Truly enjoy what you do my man keep it up!

Last tip is the biggest... i was stuck around 2k with a player that always complained everyone and everything sucks. Swapped up my arena partner we breezed to 2400 and laughed the whole way doing so. Great vid cheers for tips and time put into your videos. 🤙
Hey Stoopz, absolutely loved this video. Great insight! Have you thought about doing a video on the basic building blocks of pvp? Something akin to a framework that people should learn about? "Here are the 5 core concepts you'll need to learn in arena. Positioning, Team CD Management, How to Pump, Effective Trading, ETC." I find myself very much in that category of "I don't know what I could have done better", and I think laying out a groundwork of thinking would be very valuable to low rated people like myself. I completely agree with your mantra of "just get a little better every day". That becomes so much easier when someone can say, "okay, all I'm going to focus on today is positioning. If I get better and more aware at positioning today that's victory". Just a thought! Love your content, find it incredibly helpful towards learning. See ya in the stream.
This is awesome! Despite being a pvper since wotlk, I still find myself coming back to your videos/streams for tips or even just confirmation of what I thought, but started to doubt due to toxic feedback. Thank you for keeping up the awesome content my man! Love you and stay healthy :D
100% agree on addons. For whatever reason, sometimes addons carry a negative stigma in the WoW PvP community. People will ask for help, and far too often they are told to play with the stock UI, because that's what the pro's do. The pro's play with a stock UI because they play in tournaments where they arent allowed. A guy just trying to reach 2000-2200 for the first time should use whatever addons help him understand and play the game better.
FYI, you stated it correctly, thelootdistrict.com, but the graphic had lootdistrict.com. The former is what you want, the latter is malware filled ad hell. Just so everyone knows 🙂 Thank you for another great video!
this is awesome, I've been doing pvp since BC and still you had some interesting advice to learn. I want to play in with players like you describe. I have never seen such a thorough list of skilled players to follow provided anywhere before.
Another program to record and review your replay is lowkey, its like playsTV was and lets you upload clips easily, just wanted to share that with you guys! Nice video as always stoopzz
Good list, may I add: 9: Be honest with yourself. Dunning Kruger is a thing so just be open to the fact that you might not be nearly as good as you think you are so don't get defensive if given true constructive criticism and be prepared to be critical of yourself. 10: Related to above, learn to walk before you run (or even "learn to crawl before you walk before your run"). If you are struggling at 1400, don't worry about playing the perfect comp, work on the fundamentals. Things like comp don't really matter at very low rankings, the mistakes you are making as a player far exceed any advantages playing the FotM comp/class would give you. Once you improve as an overall player, the rest will starting falling inline on their own. I bring these up because I have struggled with both these in the past.
FIRE video stoopz, this really made the fundamentals so easy to learn and have something to reference if I forget is perfect. Sharing this w everyone!!
Also I would say a HUGE thing is keybinds I used to keyboard turn and click spells when I was playing mop in middle school get used to keybinds and use them they are vitally important
or for those that are not very techy, you can use the default windows 10 shortcut Win + Alt + R and start recording right away. Also thanks for the informative video, much appreciated. P.S: I get how you can learn your class, but how do you counter classes you have never played and you have no idea what's in their toolkit? Do you have to read guides for every single class and learn them all?
If you're struggling against a certain class. Take time to research the class and if you have even more time, actually play it. Playing a class that you struggle against will give you a better understanding on how to approach certain match ups. Also, study ranges for each ability of each class.
Awesome vid man!! Think ya nailed it and this vid is easily one of the best places to start for anyone lookin to get into some PvP. My biggest personal suggestion would be: just don't give up. This goes hand in hand with the entirety of the vid. Teams don't always workout and chemistry may not always be 100%. Don't throw in the towel if it doesn't go as planned and give yourself the chance to improve, always. The vid definitely helps identify where ya can improve and set yourself up for success. Much love
Great video as always. I have been trying to push 2k with my resto Druid but burst is so Big I just get deleted. Took the advice of you and many other, switched to a shadow priest and having way more fun!
there actually is a big discord community for mythic plus players to find groups and make teams and etc but i havent found a Pvp one till now ! Thank you
I did the same for quite some time. I copied a TH-camr I liked and copied his keybinds. Then I changed them a little bit to my preference. If you want to stop being a click player I would recommend doing something similar. It will feel bad at first but eventually it will feel better than being a click player.
I didn't joined your stream yet but I watched every Video in the last months. Came back 6 months ago after a 8 year break. As a pure pvp player those are sad times compared to the past. I play with 3 friends and we all share your opinion about pvp. Keep going with your good content. It really helps and motivates to have a voice of our thoughts. I will play a restro druid in SL and would be glad if you have names of streamers or youtubers who play restro druid as mains in pvp. Or maybe you plan to main restro druid? 😉
I would like to see a video for battlegrounds. The strats that are successful in achieving wins. I often find most players don't know and they just fight on the roads and ignore the objectives entirely.
what are your thoughts about alts? Last time I played arena was in WoD and tbh the game was already bad but I enjoyed the fact that I could play almost every class I wanted, I exploited literally all of the aids comps suchs as monk/lock just targeting all 3 enemies at once and etc. I still dont think classes are nearly as deep or hard to learn as they used to be like in MoP and before, but I'm not certain if I should just straight go and try to play 3-5 different classes in arena in shadowlands since it's not the default every-class toolkit gameplay WoD had. I also like alts because sometimes I want to play certain classes and I end up not finding teammates, my friends quitting etc. and the opportunity comes for a class I didnt have in mind originally. Thanks as always for all the tips, wish I had come across this channel sooner.
As for someone who started playing wow in BFA and got to 2400, obviously play play play is the best advice. Best advice is getting gladius, bigdebuffs and diminishDR tracker. Those will put a fat icon next to someone who has thornes on them for example, and you can actally take a sec to hower the icon and read what it is if you dont know. Cause i started out as a new player, barly any addons, and its pretty hard to know when people popped deffensive cds, cloak of shadows thornes and what not. Burning a bunch of cds into those is not a great way to win games. Another very very good adivce is for the love of god play 2s. You will have much harder time learning and understanding whats going on in 3s. So play 2s until you dont suck ass anymore then go into 3s.
Hoping I can at least consistently get 2.4+ next xpac. I am quite introverted so I always pug and use non voice. I only reached 2.3k with only 1-2 months playing MW in BFA. Here's to hoping I can do 2.4 next xpac. Just need to grow some balls and use coms.
I never rage on my teammates but sometimes on fae mages who lick pillars too hard and then get into their pods when I don’t have enough burst to finish them. Am I toxic? 😅
Heya, awesome video! I am more than half blind(Only have 14% Peripheral vision). So I have very bad tunnel vision. Question: Can you recommend addons that show more info above the players head as it is really difficult for me to track info shown on the side of my screen. Regards w0rs (Rogue/DK)
Amazing tips man! I've already learned so much watching u over the years. Went from a solid 15-1600 rating in arena to finally achieving 2.1. Maybe after a few more years of watching I'll actually be good...🤷♂️😂
I like pvp but im the kind of player who dont want too much stuff on my screen at the same time cause i lost myself a lot and im focusing so much on one thing that i wont be aware of the surrounding in game since im gonna focus too much on the addon any tips or idea like a good pvp screen with like 3 to 4 addon ?
Hey man ^_^ cheers for the tips!! Not a complete pvp noob but gone from melee monsters to a fire mage...so may as well be starting from scratch in comparison xD good grounds here in this vid to make a red hot go of it 🤘 Awesome content btw so another sub acquired!! 👍👍
Can you make a video on forming a group for rated bg's - i tried but I dont know how to do it - also outline the basics of wht you are looking for in regards to members pls.
Hey man, my old roommate mentioned I had a doppelganger, and I agree. We look almost the same. I even have the freckle next to my nose. Do with that information what you will.
Hello. Question not necessarily for you Stoopzz but if your followers could answer me too that would be great. My goal is to get the replica field marshal armour. What steps do i need to take in order to achieve this goal? I have done normal bg's before where i just queue up and go into it with loads of random people and that is my limited experiance with pvp. Any help or pointers that will help me achieve my goal would be great. Thanks for reading.
very nice video, hopefully many people will follow the step about toxicity !! sadly i was waiting for your next video to ask specifically you what covenants do you recommend for holy pala and unholy dk 2v2 team
Awesome video Bro! Such great content. Would love to see Xodas added to the DK section. He lives and breathes frost and unholy and he is so helpful on his twitch channel as well as his disc. I plan on alt for Pally and I will definitely check out your links as well as follow you. Thank you so much!
One very important thing i can share is - don't ask high rated people to boost you in arena, you'll get a very high mmr after winning few fights while being carried, but you'll end up in 2k+ bracket struggling without a very skilled partner, while still learning about the game.
If you see this, I recommend Bicmex's stream and TH-cam channel for those that like playing a Survival hunter. He makes it work very very well, and has helped many of us Survival's climb the ladder.

this is awesome, I've been doing pvp since BC and still you had some interesting advice to learn. I want to play in with players like you describe. I have never seen such a thorough list of skilled players to follow provided anywhere before.
Another program to record and review your replay is lowkey, its like playsTV was and lets you upload clips easily, just wanted to share that with you guys!
Nice video as always stoopzz
Good list, may I add:
9: Be honest with yourself.
Thank you for this Stoopzz! Wonderful set of links for resources to help people get into, or improve, their PVP skills! Much love!
Great video. Good idea shouting out streamers looking to grow and answer questions. Also, solid plants.
The plants definitely make the video imo
or for those that are not very techy, you can use the default windows 10 shortcut Win + Alt + R and start recording right away.
Much love
Hey Dude, amazing content just subscribed!
Probably one of the most useful wow videos on TH-cam. Got a sub from me!
Is death knight viable in arena? I haven't played in a while but was looking through the leaderboards and didn't see even one DK.
Great video as always. I have been trying to push 2k with my resto Druid but burst is so Big I just get deleted. Took the advice of you and many other, switched to a shadow priest and having way more fun!
Along with Hydra I would put mehhx for disc too. Really nutty player.
Should put Whaazz for rogue too, I learned alot from him and Pika.
I added Hydra! I wanted to add Meh, but he doesn't stream often! Should have added Whazz :( It was hard to remember everyone
Any chance you could do a video of what to look for on our videos? Like what to look for and a few examples from different users?
there actually is a big discord community for mythic plus players to find groups and make teams and etc but i havent found a Pvp one till now ! Thank you
Okay do not laugh but I still click my buttons and I'm not sure how to set any key bindings up and stuff like that
I did the same for quite some time. I copied a TH-camr I liked and copied his keybinds. Then I changed them a little bit to my preference. If you want to stop being a click player I would recommend doing something similar. It will feel bad at first but eventually it will feel better than being a click player.
@@woden991 lol thank you😁
Np happy I could help :)
Thanks for making the pvp community better
MY MAN!!! idk why you don't get much recognition from WOW community, thank you for your time and effort, stay safe :)
Thank you very much for these resources. We all appreciate your effort very much 😊
100% should add mystical the monk to your list for mistweaver imo.
Just came over here after watching your interview with Marcelian and Flame. Nice channel!
Dude stoopzz great video healthy for community good shout outs to great players of their classes too.
what are your thoughts about alts?
Didn't know about lootdistrict thanks. I want to summon Guardian Angel Savix as well.
I have one question.
Did blizz changed the renown timegating for honor gear?
Great content man! Super informative and I can tell you put a ton of effort into these videos. Keep it up!
Thank you for the guide me and my friend have been spam queing arenas for a while but we dont get better and were hard stuck 1700
yooo editor is fire :D love the new video brother hope to play with you in SL! :D
The loot district has guides from 8.1....how do we know that their stat information is up to date?
Because it is has up to date player listings taken from the arena ladder. I recommend you just sort by 10 players and click on their armory :)
I never rage on my teammates but sometimes on fae mages who lick pillars too hard and then get into their pods when I don’t have enough burst to finish them. Am I toxic? 😅
Love all the resources that you put together for this video. Thanks!
Yeah! Nameplatecooldowns is an addon that will portray CDs over the enemies head :)
@@Stoopzz Awesome thanks a ton!
Amazing tips man! I've already learned so much watching u over the years. Went from a solid 15-1600 rating in arena to finally achieving 2.1. Maybe after a few more years of watching I'll actually be good...🤷♂️😂
Stoopz your content has been top tier for a long time, keep up the fantastic work! You are a great help to the community
Not a complete pvp noob but gone from melee monsters to a fire mage...so may as well be starting from scratch in comparison xD good grounds here in this vid to make a red hot go of it 🤘
Awesome content btw so another sub acquired!! 👍👍
What is that last rank on the thumbnail? Never seen it before but looks like a cool idea.
I wanted tips for a new pvp'er like this is what the arena are, this is how you get the gear, do you have that video?
Can you get the best gear just by queuing for quick match battlegrounds? I only want to do BG and solo.
Lol all 2 of you... sounds like every birthday party I’ve ever had 🤣
Great Video like always Stoopzz, thank you for putting the effort of making these, hopefully we will get a good pvp experience from shadowlands :)
very nice video, hopefully many people will follow the step about toxicity !!
sadly i was waiting for your next video to ask specifically you what covenants do you recommend for holy pala and unholy dk 2v2 team
Awesome video Bro! Such great content. Would love to see Xodas added to the DK section. He lives and breathes frost and unholy and he is so helpful on his twitch channel as well as his disc. I plan on alt for Pally and I will definitely check out your links as well as follow you. Thank you so much!
What arena frame addon is that at 5:05?
Found it. It is sArena with the Xaryu layout.
One very important thing i can share is - don't ask high rated people to boost you in arena, you'll get a very high mmr after winning few fights while being carried, but you'll end up in 2k+ bracket struggling without a very skilled partner, while still learning about the game.
Just subbed .... good shit my dude ... looking to make a come back ... haven’t played in 4-5 years
If you see this, I recommend Bicmex's stream and TH-cam channel for those that like playing a Survival hunter. He makes it work very very well, and has helped many of us Survival's climb the ladder.
One of the most useful and informative videos I’ve watched yet, pertaining to pvp. Thank you for your hard work man.
Ty man!! Get buzzed wen I see a new vid pop up. Have a good day. Peace!
I didn't think id take so much from this video. Good shit! Thanks!
Quick note: OBS also has a buffer recording option similar to Nvidia
