My Mom used to make chicken liver pate' every Christmas. Man It was so good. I miss her and her cooking. Thanks for sharing this recipe. My Mom was German
Never saw this before but love chicken liver so it’s next on my list. My grandparents came from Poland in about 1917 and my entire family on my mother’s side is Polish so I love all polish food. My eyes are watering for a taste!
Breakfast? Sandwiches? Great ideas. I made some chicken liver pate in the wayback and really enjoyed it. But its utility as a food item and the effort required to make and store it squelched any intention of making it again. However, treating it simply as a processed meat product rather than just as a party spread puts a whole new spin on it. Plus the recipe I used did not have all the veggies, which is another nice twist. Moreover, seeing your paper-lined loaf pans reminded me that my wayback recipe suggested lining the loaf pans with bacon slices which, in effect, produced a tasty wrap for the pate loaf. SIGH. Oh, yeah, time to rattle the loaf pans. Dziękuję.
my Babcia didn't make pasztet...but she made me special chicken livers with bacon and onions as an after school treat. I need to make this! Thank you for this!
Delicious! We have something similar in Romania, made with lamb liver and meat. It’s called Drob and it’s traditional on Easter. But it’s not spreadable, it’s more like a meatloaf.
I made this and my husband Janusz loves it.. reminds him of the old country…love your videos / recipes and adventures.. I have made several of your recipes and loved ever recipes I made 😊 From Lucille and Janusz .. Canada
So glad I found your channel. You are the BEST! Makes me sad and long for my mother's homemade Polish food that I used to eat when I was younger. She passed away many years ago, but your recipes are EXACTLY how she made them.
Made your recipe today, holy mackerel!! It is really good. I've never had liver, once it was cooked, I tasted a piece and decided to proceed. Two loaf pans later. You have made a convert. I'll be bragging about you for a while. Great recipe. Thank you, brought me out of my Lil oregon box.
I am a big fan of pate, and yours looks delicious. I got the grinder attachment for Christmas, so I'm set to go! Can't wait to fire it up. Finally. And I watched every bit of this, which makes me your biggest fan. I bet it's a thousand-way tie. ❤
Anna I love your channel I am 3rd generation here in the states I have always had a love to cook polish food and share with friends . Know that I'm getting older I have people asking how to make things . You and your husband are helping talk better with the polish food stores and the different meats. So that post you had one the 9 sausages gave me more things to eat. You say your not a health channel but you cook cleaner then our western diet and it's get I'm cooking with more veggies now then I did . But yes there are something I can't have a lot of but not to much. I know your husband can understand what I'm talking about by way I live about an 20 mins from Joliet Illinois your husband should have an idea were that is. Sorry for rambling on I love what you guys are doing and always look forward to early Monday morning post. Look forward to more good stuff. I wish I could show you I make bread models at Easter in shape of animals I have a lamb , chicken and a rabbit have you ever seen that before on the Easter table ?
I am vegan now, but I do remember how much I loved chicken livers. My mother used to brown them, then simmer in stewed tomatoes with garlic and onion and serve over white rice. 😋
This looks so good. I know if I made this, I would be happily eating it for days. It seems relatively easy. I love the fact that it can be baked in jars and then frozen. Thank you for your video.
Ana! Are you drinking mint lemon water from a jar? This is an awesome video, reminds me as a kid, liver loaf! Excellent.. if your sipping from the jar, you guys are right on point! 😊
U mnie w rodzinie robi się pasztet z wieprzowiny i wołowiny. Dodaje masło i najważniejszą przyprawa to starta gałka muszkatołowa! Dużo pieprzu , a kurzej wątróbki malo. Tylko jako przyprawa. Podaje się na chlebie z kwaśną konfiturą z żurawiny.
Anna, You are one ambitious home chef! That's a lot of work & time and love! You did a great job. I did watch all the way to the end because I had NO IDEA what pate has in it. Thank you - keep cooking! (Your cameraman is FUNNY! - "breathe on people" - he's a funny guy!)
Most dishes are really not that complicated and may seem time consuming, but when one dish is made from leftovers of another or if you work in batches then it’s not so bad. Plus, it only tastes this good when made at home. 😀
I love watching you!! I find all these things by pa, ma, and grandparents made and I just forgot all about them. I think I would like it a bit more spreadable. Can you add a bit more liver? Again thank you!!
I suppose you could try another smoked meat of some kind if pork is not to your liking. Bacon brings a smokey, salty flavor so a some smoked poultry perhaps. Thanks for watching!
I'll pass on the chicken liver, all thought I am passionate about liver sausage, BUT eating boiled chicken out of the soup is a cherished memory.....loved the celery and onions that were cooked in the broth.....
Chicken liver isn't easily available in Ireland )of all places). They have to be ordered in advance. They're no longer free with a whole chicken bought. There is pork and lamb liver, ut no beef liver. Is there a Polish version of liver sausage?
Ohh wow, that looks incredible! Here in USA,young people don’t eat this,it is considered old people food, food for people with no teeth. They are fools. They know not what they are missing out on. I would like to share a story with the two of you,it is a story of my town,in Lorain Ohio. It is a Sicilian story,it is a Polish story. My grandfather,Giuseppe Montalto,he grew up on west 14th street. This street, and the surrounding blocks were populated by almost 100% Italians. And that’s how they liked it,Capish? So,my grandfather,he was a member of the 14th street gang. Not a criminal gang,no,they were kind of a neighborhood watchdog gang. This is late 1920’s,btw. So,at one point, one of the houses on the street came up for sale. Strangely, the various prospective buyers who came to look at it were NOT Italian!!! This was a problem. So Grandpa and the boys decided to ,well, investigate this issue,by approaching a family who was looking at the house. They were like “Hey,that’s,uh,yeah, pretty nice house,eh?” The husband and wife, they were like”Yeah, sure,it’s a beauty.” The 14th street gang, they asked,”Sooo…you guys Italian, then?” The couple, they replied “Oh,well,no,we’re Polish, actually…” The 14th street gang, they said”oh! A couple of Polacks!” They knew that the “Polacks” were fellow Catholic folk,so they decided to be welcoming. They introduced themselves, and Mr. and Mrs. Wiezneski introduced themselves. They bought that house, the Wiezneskis had 2 sons, and their mother lived there ,too. One of the sons,David,he was of the same age as the 14th street gang. He invited them to the house, they ate pierogi, slathered in butter and onions. Apparently,my grandfather,he said to me”Jesus, those Polacks make the craziest Ravioli, they fill ‘em with potatoes!” He brought some home to his parents, and they agreed, these were amazing ravioli, and so much cheaper to make! My grandfather and David Wiezneski became good friends,David was the first non-Italian member of the Legendary 14th street gang, and the neighborhood soon became more diverse, with more Polish and Ukrainian families moving in. It was no longer an “Italian” thing,it was a Catholic thing. The 14th street gang, well, they met up once a month for the following 70 years, they slowly dwindled in numbers, over the years. My grandfather,Giuseppe he was the last. But old man Wiezneski,he was second to last, they were friends for their entire lives. 🥲
I’m watching your entire video and trying to determine where you are in Poland or USA and can’t tell. Your English is American and your Polish is good so where are you. I’m in New York.
There was a pna club in south bend indiana that we went to for all ages metal and punk shows and the bartender looked just like this girl even had the arm tattoos pna stands for polish national alliance by the way it was like a social club they had really good food to
Ogorki and Pate. Heaven on Earth!
What if I do not have a grinder?
My Mom used to make chicken liver pate' every Christmas. Man It was so good. I miss her and her cooking. Thanks for sharing this recipe. My Mom was German
easy to make. Guten Appetit!😊
Love liver pate!
This reminds me of what my Dad used to make. He called it pot pudding. He was of Pennsylvania German descent
That really looks great. I can picture rye bread, a bit of mayo, sliced onion and your pate.
Thanks. I was looking for a good pate idea. My Great Grandmother will be smiling up there.
Never saw this before but love chicken liver so it’s next on my list. My grandparents came from Poland in about 1917 and my entire family on my mother’s side is Polish so I love all polish food. My eyes are watering for a taste!

Howdy from western Colorado!
This looks delicious even though I am not a huge fan of liver. The problem for me is that I would be making it for only myself.

I have never made liver pate. But I like it. occasionally I like it store-bought I think I would like it better homemade.
By a million! Hope you try making some. 😀
Yummy
I've always liked this but where I am, you can't find it the way you've made yours. Thanks for showing me how to do it,
Anna, You are one ambitious home chef! That's a lot of work & time and love! You did a great job. I did watch all the way to the end because I had NO IDEA what pate has in it. Thank you - keep cooking! (Your cameraman is FUNNY! - "breathe on people" - he's a funny guy!)

Really love pate but never made it
I definitely want this. ❤️
When baking...can you put those metal rings on the jar in the oven?
I love watching you!! I find all these things by pa, ma, and grandparents made and I just forgot all about them. I think I would like it a bit more spreadable. Can you add a bit more liver? Again thank you!!
Yes, you can add more liver, and to make it more spreadable add more fat and broth.
Many thanks
Lol, I leave the liver in my whole roasted chicken, and eat it , I love it
I don’t have grinder. Do you think a vitamix blender would work?
hi you can use ice cubes at the end of grinding to push it all out
Great idea!!
Looks delish. What can you substitute for the bacon?
I suppose you could try another smoked meat of some kind if pork is not to your liking. Bacon brings a smokey, salty flavor so a some smoked poultry perhaps. Thanks for watching!
Whqt shouldyou do with veggies from rosol? Eat them lol!
I'll pass on the chicken liver, all thought I am passionate about liver sausage, BUT eating boiled chicken out of the soup is a cherished memory.....loved the celery and onions that were cooked in the broth.....

Would you be able to make this with calf liver?
Yes, any kind of meat you like.
