Massive congrats guys! We had a little baby via surrogacy last year and had a little girl. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle. We found out the gender early as well and were terrified of miscarriage (as we had a few losses) but it all worked out thankfully. I’m looking forward to following your journey. Good luck!

I love that y'all are speaking out on miscarriages. I had a miscarriage with my first child at almost 5 months pregnant and still got told the 12 weeks bullshit even though I was well past 12 weeks. It's like people completely skimmed over me saying it was at 19+ weeks.

As a seasoned mama. I just gotta say, It doesn't matter what you do, if something is going to happen, it will happen, so try not to get too hung up on things, of course don't go chain smoking, getting shit faced and stuff, but if you wanna have a coffee, it's safe in moderation. If you wanna eat pre-packaged salad, wash it and eat it, I still ate sushi (no raw fish though), I still had home cooked prawns, woolies roast chicken, medium rare steak, even, dare I say it, soft serve icecream! The reason? My first 3 pregnancies I did everything by the book and I still lost them, I had an ectopic (cervical), an early miscarriage and a stillborn at 20w to preterm labour (diagnosed incompetent cervix). In the wise words of Elsa "let it go" . I literally have to have a cerclage (stitch) placed in my cervix, where they weave it in and out all the way around it and then pull tight like a drawstring bag to hold it shut, prior to 20 weeks, go on bedrest (get to graduate to light duties when I make it to 28weeks), place big dissolvable progesterone tablets up my who-ha every day, see Drs 2-3x more then the average pregnant lady to have fortnightly internal scans to monitor my cervix, and even with all that, only 3 out of 7 babies made it, and all 3 were premature born at 32w5d, 30w3d and 31w1d. I honestly just made a point, especially with my last baby, to just enjoy every minute while it lasts, because even though it is freakin gross, uncomfortable, etc, it is still special, you are growing a whole small human, you are what is keeping bub alive, you get to know them better then anyone else, and in the grand scheme of things, pregnancy is a blip, it is over in under a year. So take so many photos, get that extra private scan, record babies heart beat, lay ther and feel bubby kick, take care of yourself and soak it all in, because you're already parents, this is it, this is the beginning

My view on “kids are expensive”: they don’t have to be. There are ways you can reduce the amount you spend on them. For example: homeschooling them, not buying electronics, no clothes brand new off the racks from brand stores, live off-grid and grow your own vegetables in your garden to buy less groceries.
About having more than 1 child: I plan on having 3 where I’ll have at least 1 son and 1 daughter. I see the value in raising both a Gentleman and a Lady into this world. As far as “not having any more time alone as a couple”, there are always ways you can plan to spend quality time together.

Claire, Im 51, 3 kids, and yes pregnancy is awful. I did not worry too much about what i ate when pregnant, the only thing i did not eat was pre-packaged salads. I dont have a reason why, it just seemed right at the time (listen to that inner voice is what im saying). It took me 4 years to have my second baby, but very glad i went back for another. Ive known a few 'only child' adults and they have wished they had a sibling, and i think that is why i decided on another (and then another..lol). It was the right decision. The only advice i have is listen to your own advice, dont get too mixed up in the latest baby fad or opinion, Love them, hug them, hold them, kiss them, sing to them, read to them, feed them, keep them clean and warm, that is what a baby needs. :) Yes, its a massive change to your life, but believe me after the first six months, it will be like they have always been there. To save some hair pulling, get into a routine with bub as early as you can (along with Isaac) it will come in good stead for years to come. You will both be fine, your little bub is one lucky little dude or dudette to have you both as Mum and Dad!

After three kids, the cravings were insane. The first child, I craved pizza. That's all I wanted. Cheese pizza. The second? I had morning sickness for six months and the last three of the pregnancy, I had the flu. The third? I wanted breakfast foods the whole time, bacon and eggs, pancakes, the whole gambit. Although, to answer your question regarding salad? You can get ill eating fresh veg. Just make sure you wash your veg really good.

You should wait until you have the baby before deciding 1 and done. Kids are a lot of fun as are having a brother or sister. Isaac, you should talk to your parents about having multiple kids. Can you imagine not having your brothers around? Family is far more important than your job. Learn to adapt. I am very happy for the both of you. You will make wonderful parents. Relax and don't over think it. Oh, romaine lettuce is much easier to clean.

The first time I was pregnant, but didn't know it, I thought there was something wrong with our coffee, as it suddenly tasted disgusting and made me feel sick. I didn't like hot drinks throughout any of my four pregnancies. I don't have any advice about what to eat or not to eat. But I do advise you to take naps whenever you feel tired. Pregnancy is tiring.Regarding exercise, I found that going for gentle walks was good. The babies all seemed to settle down when I went for walks. I also did exercises from a Denise Austin pregnancy workout dvd. You can do modified situps during pregnancy, where you just raise and lower your head a little bit. Best of luck.

What massively helped my wife was walking our dog he was a GSP and pulled hard so all the resistance in my wife body helped her heaps with muscle build up before natural birth , she actually had to hold our daughter in cause ..... don’t hold out per the instructions of the hospital go before their suggested times 😂 seriously we nearly stopped at our dentist on the way to the hospital to help with the birth 😂 no stretch marks either cause the walks keep her in prim condition and that was at 34.

I couldn't stomach sushi but alot of people do crave it!, Also doctors tell you not to eat McDonald's ice cream either but I ate it all the time and nothing happened to my boys at all. Also Woolworths salads I ate all threw 3 of my pregnancy! It's just more what you can stomached! But it depends on what doctor you get I guess I had alot of doctors and nurses and they all have something different to say ❤️☺️

ngl it honestly varies from person to person, like the best advice i can give is listen to your body if you don't want it your body will tell you, also some thing's you loved might be horrible now or vice versa with thing's you didn't like now you might, oh Isac heads up could have a possibility of something called sympathy pains where you feel the baby kick an move it's weird as shit but neat at the same time, but congrats to you two so happy you'll get to experience father an mother hood it is a never ending anxiety attack because you are constantly worrying if you are doing whats right for them or their safety.., but it is 100% worth is IMO

As a student nurse I'm horrified to hear you guy's experience, those tests are not only a optional test, they can hold detrimental information for future patient care and interventions. Her comments are dangerous and harmful! And should not be tolerated in healthcare!

Now that I think about it hasn’t been less than a year since you created ,” The Mum and Dad Show” podcast and Lil’ Dixon Butterfield is now pregnant. I think Isaac may have unintentionally foreshadowed his wife’s own pregnancy. 🤔

Look I don't agree with all your content Isaac but I like ya missus. She's a bit more humane.
She is going to be a wonderful, fun mum, you should blog after the baby is born about all the new panicking you do ❤️
And how you constantly check if they're breathing, like it's always in the back of your head...
Your always experiencing mum guilt worrying your screwing your child up.
But don't worry, it's so worth it ❤️

Guilt is the main emotion of parenting along with sheer panic! Love and joy are in there too I s'pose lol
