my comment is a year late, but the cocopeat jiffy pellet or bricks/blocks like the one in this video are steriled and can be use directly after soaking. the one you're talking about is the loose type of cocopeat.
Hi, don't we need to soak the cocopeat block overnight and then rinse the water from it before using? I had got this information from some gardening expert. Plz clear out bcz I have been rinsing & then using it which is actually too tiring process...so can adding seaweed save that much hard labour?
If cocopeat is of good quality you need not to rinse at all. As while preparing cocopeat, coconut fibrous cover use to be soak in water for more than a month for partial decomposition.

According to me cocopeat must be washed throughly before use, if you are not buying a pre washed one.

Yes you can but you need to add fertilizer as coco peat doesn’t have any nutrients like soil

some times cocopeat are salty so i think always clean the cocopeat
