When an Irish person says “I’ll fucking kill you” they don’t mean it literally, they just mean they’ll stay angry at you for a long time. I’m Irish and I got over the handball incident pretty quickly, as did nearly everyone else I know. Henry was an absolutely fantastic player, a great pro who made a split second decision that anyone would have done in his position. He’ll always get respect from serious football people in Ireland.

Thierry is absolutely spot-on about how players who make the pass don't get enough credit. I was never a very prolific scorer but as a 10 you could count on me to make the correct pass, but I rarely got credit for the many tap-ins I set up for my strikers and the runs to pull defenders away.

I'm an Irish fan, and I wouldn't think of threatening the man or anything over a game of football, but that handball incident was devastating. I think the ball touched his arm 2 or 3 times preventing it from going for a goal kick. The linesman or ref should have seen it as well. But for a small country like Ireland, who had an uphill battle against France, after as big a performance as could be asked from our lads, to be done in by blatant cheating was a kick in the teeth. And he can say it was instinct, and maybe it was, but Ireland went out and France went through.
Henry is one of the greatest strikers for club and Country. I have a lot of respect for the guy, but that moment was a smack in the face to a plucky nation. It was unjust.

Robbie Fowler was one of the best strikers I ever saw and my first time seeing Robbie was in the Toulon tournament at U18 level for Eng. Robbie could strike a ball so cleanly with very little back lift so for me he was top class. Alan Shesrer was a proper striker too btw. Shearer missed 2 full yrs with those terrible injuries and they were when he was at his very best so imagine u could stick another 40-50 or even 60 goals on top of his record but for those bad injuries.
Ian Wright was a complete goal scorer for me too btw but Thierry was easily the best for what he brought to Arsenal. I honestly believe if Shesrer went to Old Traffprd when Fergie wanted him he would’ve smashed every record and Utd would’ve won the Champions Lge at least 3 more times with him in the number 9 shirt.
I genuinely believe that guys. Imagine if Thierry was in that Utd side too btw. He woulda scored so many more goals too. It all pie in the sky stuff bcos they played for Arsenal and Newcastle respectively but the great Fergie sides were so much more consistent overall so both of them would’ve killed it in the league and in Europe too

He was the best ever Premier League player for me. It's just a game if it's 11 vs 11 and there's no consequence or fans involved. When it's competitive it's so much more than just a game. I support Everton and had absolutely no problem with that Fowler celebration against us. I think if you're giving it out to the players then they should be able to give it back within reason when they score. I also remember watching him play us while he was at Man City and was getting called a smackhead the whole game and he scored then and ran towards the corner flag near where I was smacking his head. You just have to laugh and take it.

I am biased as a gooner. But I would have him over any other striker, Henry was fast, skilful, arrogant in the best way, scored outrageous goals which not many strikers have scored. He is the best PL player in my opinion.

im only half way through and he just talked briefly about assists and if you look back at his combined goals and assists output per season its incredible , i heard him say before his assists are something he was most proud of and he would rather be known as a great assister than " just" a great goalscorer . proper team player .

As an Irish Arsenal fan I accept what Henry has said here about twice touching the ball. What he glosses over is not putting his hand up and admitting to it in the minutes that followed. If it was as he said, untypical of his career why didn’t he fix it?

If people didn’t use it as an advertisement platform for everyone to see, they wouldn’t have a problem.

or because nobody cares enough, not trying to be rude but you're a nobody compared to a top level footballer. they pretty much have to be on social media for commercial reasons, and you don't have to 'add' someone on social media for them to reach you

    • @MjolnirMarks
      @MjolnirMarks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Chigz10 - I understand that completely. And by ‘add’, I mean restrict Instagram settings to private, unless approved. Footballers had and still have private fb accounts, which can restrict who can see their posts and media.
If they want to use it was a billboard, then there’s going to be distasteful graffiti on it at times.
These platforms are a money game for all involved, and that’s why copyright is so strict on them.

Wonder how many noticed Fowler never said Henry was best striker/player league has seen, funny enough came across his bt sport video 2 years ago Fowler saying Shearer was better.
Nothing wrong with not saying it but seems like he avoided actually saying yes and no, who was better? Apples and oranges but then let's be real his hardly going to say Henry isn't when his interviewing him so yeah something I happened to notice.

Weak society creates strong people and strong society creates weak people, and that is where we are.
