@@kyskakyska3276 oh that's a beautiful area! Actually I've made a video from Birštonas (feel free to check it out, it's called "Why Lithuanians Love Nature So Much") :)
Ale is just equipped with so many shots in every vlog 👌🏽 very peaceful looking. I live in the “Garden state” of the US so I admire being around greenery but we’re also close to the beach. Lithuania sure is beautiful.
Thank you Mike! :) Green and beach sound like a great combo! Essentially, you can choose how to spend your days/weeks if have the best of both worlds! ✌️
Oh yes, it's truly a beautiful country and even though it's small, there's always interesting places to explore and nature is the queen! :) Thanks so much for watching Lisa!
It is an interestong story about Puntukas rock and portraits of Darius and Girėnas carved on it. The idea to commemorate these brave pilots was circulating before the war in independent Lithuania. Under German occupation it was impossible even to thing about fulfilling it as Germans hated this idea especially because the plane was shot down over the German East Prussian territory and Lithuania blamed Germany for that. In May of 1942 Tomas Zauka - a former auditor of Bank of Lithuania in one of Kaunas restaurants overheard a conversation among German officers discussing an idea, after Germans win the war, to commemorate one of Nazi ideologists Alfred Rosenberg by carving his portrait on the big boulder they so in the vicinity of Anykščiai (it is clearly visible from bypassing road). So Lithuanians very swiftly (working day and night) built a barn around Puntukas by this making it "disappear". So bypassers could see only a barn. In that barn sculptor Bronius Pundzius with assisted local carvers, working secretly in 180 days carved these portraits. The barn was dismantled only after the war.
Wow! This is definitely golden information, I didn't know at all about this and I'm glad you commented so everyone can read and learn too. Thank you so much for sharing these details Fide! 🙏
Haha thank you so much!! Generally for most people are quite difficult to pronounce (non-Lithuanians) but once you learn it, it should be fine :) 🇱🇹 ❤️
Welcome to the green and peaceful country! 🌳😌 really enjoyed watching especially when i connect a lot to those places! I love how you put everything together 🪄 my best compliments!👏
Hey Ale! I haven’t had a good internet connection for a few days, so I‘ll be binge watching your gorgeous videos soon! Especially when I won’t be travelling myself, to escape for a while! Expect a load of ecstatic comments soon… you never disappoint!
In the past, one of my friends used to say that Anykiai is a city of cowboys. There was a lot of fighting, blood and everything. But anyway, it’s quiet here. The festival takes place in the summer Devil's stone.
You say it is impossible to pronounce the name of the town but you pronounced it perfectly, better than Lithuanians do😁 Really well done. Great video, thank you. Live in Lithuania, never been in Anyksciai - want to visit after your video🙂
@@AleSalvino Well it is beautiful country but probably for a person like you who is from Argentina it is very boring here? I have been in Buenos Aires several times - it is shockingly beautiful city with world-class architecture, nicest food (Lithuanian food is peasant-style and a little on a boring side) also Argentinians are nice warm people and also very good looking, too. I was amazed by metal flower in Buenos Aires (the one that opens and closes). Argentinians are very social people, they talk, they don't hide feelings and they like to socialize. Lithuanians are very reserved, confined, we don't open the door if hear the neighbour is coming out - just not to meet or talk to them them. Terrible mentality.
@@markust7709 oh so nice you've been to Argentina many times, that metal flower (Floralis Genérica) is truly beautiful. It opens every morning at 8 and closes at sunset, on a schedule that changes according to the season :) I think you're right, generally in Argentina and probably many places in Latin America people are more social, share what we think and less "shame" in showing our feelings. It's actually hard to hide how we feel as we'd be talking loud, expressing with our hands and looking for "heated" conversations from time to time haha. In Lithuania actually I ate more potatoes than in my entire life, it was incredible how many different dishes they could prepare with potatoes but probably this has to do with the history. What I enjoy about Lithuania is nature, I think the lakes and green areas are beautiful. Also these ancient castles, we don't really have any of that in Argentina (it's relatively a "new" country compared to most European ones) :)
Oh indeed, food was super nice! Unfortunately all countries have some sort of dark stories when it comes to history but there's always something to learn for the future. Really nice country Lithuania :) Thank you guys for watching!
There's a movie. Sadly no subtitles, maybe if there's a push from the audiences they'll add it :) Official archive added it to youtube: th-cam.com/video/MeyPjHNs5ic/w-d-xo.html
The Secret ? / Yes, Lithuania is connected to nature/forest more then other countries. The Christianity was brought here as the last country in Europe to become Christian by force. That why Lithuanian people has strong memory of their pre-Christian ancient times, their Gods and ancient beliefs and they honor them as no other country in Europe /from your Moldavian friend/ Salutare !
Totally agree, it's a nice green country and they were fighting till the end not to be converted to Christianity, there was a lot of resistance. Essentially a long pagan history that was hard to forget at point in time. Thanks for your insights and watching as always, viva Moldavia ;-)
Oh yes, looks like those are mandatory things! The tree one is super interesting as I've seen it with my wife (she's Lithuanian), they planted trees for each of the kids 🌳 Thanks for watching!

Pancakes and jam. Yum! What a sad history of that stone. The tallest church is beautiful. The house of illusions looks fun.
