or you pull a carry like imbibitor and use 4star supports like yukong and asta. worked very well for me =)

As someone who started around sparkle release...
Gallagher is a godsend. Lynx heals just don't compete early investment, where as Gallagher just heals so much more at base. Not only that, but he just works. Acheron team? He's got 2 debuffs. FUA team? healing every attack. Robin? Q-ult-Q for energy regen with QPQ. Break teams? You already know he's BiS. Meanwhile he's got solid individual damage, basically 100% effect res past e1 and is super skill point positive.
The only real downside is needing that E2 for the cleanse. Otherwise I've found he absolutely gaps Lynx.
Black Swan definitely underrated because
1. Pure fiction monster
2. She can fully enable max dot Damage and Enables DoT teams just like Kafka
3. Is surprisingly sp positive

I have E1 Xueyi and I want her to E6 but I don't wanna pull in current Banner so guess I will have to just wait :(
Who can be a good replacement for Ruan Mei in that team? I'm thinking Xueyi HMC Gallagher and Pela but if there's someone better than Pela I'd like to know.
I have e5 xueyi but am at 63 pity on robins banner and already have her should I risk a 10 pull for e6 if I also want boothill next patch or hope for a xueyi somewhere else

Xueyi is underrated and people don't realize her value with HMC yet. I managed to 3 cycle moc12 with a half built e4 Xueyi, HMC, Mei and gallagher. For context my ratio topaz team, seele hyper, and dot teams all 3 cycle and those are all 5 star teams

Do you plan to get E6 ? Because it is where she peak . I always she get compared with Jingliu Quantum set Ruan Mei .
She's so good for a 4 star. I just got her to E6 from the current banners and she really feels complete. It's so nice being able to output so much damage from all 4 team members with minimal relic farming, just average pieces that rolled break and a bit of speed and we're keeping up with fully geared 5 star teams.
I just did 2 Cycle with her on the same team but she's E6, same cycle as my E6 QQ with Tingyun, Sparkle, Aventurine and a bit of luck they both use F2P LC.
Since my HMC is now maxed and I already have the materials I need for Firefly, I’m going to be focusing on building up Xueyi. I know she can be great with the right relics and proper investments
I guess it's a good tier list for pure versatility but some of these units in C rank especially are so unbelievably good just having them will enable their entire niche along with some 4* characters, thus defeating their 'niche' status entirely.
Hey EOD, Welt main here. I'd say there are two more things to consider when playing him:
1) pseudo-sustain potential, especially against bosses whom he can just stop from doing their second attack (which is usually the nasty one)
2) Imaginary damage is the most popular type of damage. If you have him with Acheron E0, he can help her overcome the enemies who are resistant to Lightning. Sure, Avanturine can also do that and he was in the next patch, but if you don't have him, Welt is your second option.

Yeah, I agree with nearly all of it, when going by versatility is a good ranking.
Only really would move Black Swan from Niche to Efficient, because you effectively build both a DOT DPS and a Debuffer in one, useful if you don't have someone like SW for Acheron second teammate or for Pure Fiction where BS extra damage can help a lot.
I think that you rated Gallagher too low. He is the one of the two sustain with reliable debuffs in their base kit and with ult advance potentially more sp efficient than Luocha. Also his healing is potentially really good, against even 2 enemies you get basically a full heal every aoe attack. Even when you play with a harmony that dosen't attack to heal you still sometimes need to skill for a faster ult so it can still work. He also does the best damage out of any sustain in hmc teams with his high toughness damage and break effect scaling. Him being fire also means that he has specific breaking synergy with Himeko and agains half of the bosses. His biggest downside is really how big most of his eidolons are.

Agree on that but what EOD meant as this character is more to eidolon dependant character since his basis “well functioning” at least at e2. E0 can’t do much as you still need another cleanse character to pair with. But Of course, once his eidolon increased, he is more versatile.
Finally, a good point of view for Xueyi. These youtubers nowadays tackled new content as if there were no new players in HSR.
I disagree about Black Swan. I feel like she’s too good at what she does while not NEEDING anything else. Very self-sufficient. Obviously if all you need is the def shred Pela is better, but she doesn’t need any other character to function and still gives debuff to the team. Any dot break can also help her Arcana. I don’t think there’s any way Kafka can be A and her be C when Kafka’s doesn’t haven any debuffs for the team outside of her own DoT. Only downsides I can think of for Black Swan is there aren’t as many wind weak enemies right now and she has somewhat high stat requirements.

Black swan: Pure fiction s+, bis in dot team (even whitout kafka), bis in acheron teams, she is more versatile than some sustains that u think twice to use in pure fiction. Otherhand, jing yuan is the definition "The best at nothing good at everything"

I agree with Robin being slightly under Ruan Mei, unless you have a good amount of follow up characters to maximize her potential you will see a drop off in team performance if she's slotted into other teams like DoT or hypercarry, whereas Ruan Mei's performance is more consistent no matter which team she's on. Robin is super fun to use though.
Not if you build her an her team right TwT ESPECIALLY dot as dot teams hab a stacked team of characters who can really help her do well bu regardless she is really strong aswell regardless of team i say tha as someone who did get a case of jus getting absolutely dominated not using her right an who prolly cant use her fully yet not being in endgame yet bu thing is she is jus as strong infact stronger jus significantly harder to use especially if you wan jus ease of use

HMC hands down the most versatile unit for me. Suddenly Star Rail became a harem anime, with my entire roster fighting over who gets to play with the protagonist.
I think Clara is probably B (efficient). Being follow-up and bulky similar to Blade but the aggro draw helps a lot when sustains are weaker.
I agree Kafka S and I also think Robin might be A but not sure yet.
In every team comps Raun Mei can be easily replaced by robin if you don't have Raun Mei......
Gepard imo belongs to A tier.
His shield is very thick , he can freeze and he can use trend of universal that pulls enemy to him with his talent for aggro too if in acheron comps.
He is a sample of what a shielder offers but u can make him more flexible.
I think A tier suits Tingyun more. Now that there are many 5* Harmony characters she is a bit fallen off, compared to Pela...
Kafka should be S tier as she is The Character for DoT teams and very difficult to powercreep... (this is not biased I don't have her)
After I saw you rated Topaz in niche I understood your view. I think you should take into consideration characters versatility, strength in their role as well. for example you said Topaz is niche but she is actually very versatile in FUA teams and will stay like that for a long time. Same can be said for Kafka, but I guess she is more versatile outside of DoT that is why you put her in A.
I also think Robin should be A tier cz of her SP situation as well

I like to say something about Acheron placement. I'm returning player from 1.0 and I returned during Acheron banner. I played her e0 s1 with Pela as my only nihility character and Acheron still cleared the entire game for me with artifacts that only had theyr main stats somewhat right and that took me only a week or two including all of the simulated universe and memory of chaos. I only struggled with pure fiction because my Seele couldn't generate as many points as my Acheron did and my Herta is not yet built sadly. Also Pela is free +1 nihility and Fire Trailblaizor is free as well and been serving my Acheron and it turns out they synergize well so what I'm saying here is that you don't need to bring out the best of Acheron for her to perform better than most characters. She's still a monster at e0 and works well with only +1 Nihilty so the only thing she's not versatile with is her lightcone and if that's enough reason to keep her in gold standard instead of hyper versatile then I guess that's where she belongs.
Xueyi is a very versatile character and I agree with all your points, but I don't think she should rank that highly purely because building her is a soul crushing experience. Not only do you need her at E4/E6 to feel comfy to play, she needs four substats (attack, crit rate/dmg, and break effect) which can, depending on luck, be absolutely brutal to farm for. I used every triple relic drop to farm for the quantum set and only managed to pull a single piece that had all 4. Thankfully, her best in slot light cone is the herta shop f2p one, but she will feel outright bad to play until you get her more eidolons and juicy relics.

@@solanap ummm I don't think so, cuz there's a hard cap on how much benefit she gets from break, but you'd need to test whether it's worth it or not. I could see her being a pure break machine, but so much of her kit scales with attack I don't know if it's worth to forgo all of that.
People really overstate how hard it is to build xueyi. Just throw on misha lightcone and break rope and youre fine. BE is a good sub for her but not a priority roll when you just use those. This is even more true with the super break comp cause HMC gives them so much BE and if you have RM there is some more there too.
With her e4, misha lc, BE rope and traces she is already sitting at 198 BE. Hmc pushing her already way over her dmg bonus cap. Even without misha LC if you dont have it with hmc she is still right around bonus cap.
19:52 Huohuo works because she still gives Acheron a 40% ATK buff with her ult while acting as a pseudo battery by giving the debuff-applying teammates faster ults. This is on top of her sustain capabilities and having one of the most broken debuff controls in the game.
I do feel like you rated Xueyi too high because while her ult works regardless of type, you really only want to play her when there's quantum weakness due to her talent.
The only one I disagree with is Swan. I think she ought to be higher. She's amazing for DOT teams as well as teams that like debuffs. I believe she's currently the only debuffer with 100% uptime on a debuff, which makes things like activating the Pioneer set or activating Ratio's follow-ups much easier.

The moment luocha will shine is when the boss has a high break bar and spawns units that has buffs u can remove, for now huohuo can do better than him even considering his heal comfort and sp usage.

I'm a new player started like 2 hours before acheron banner ends. Got acheron, aventurine and dr. Ratio.. thats all i have. Yenqing and now got bailu from standard should i build bailu , i got lynx only.
Dont build Bailu. Build Aventurine and Acheron. They are top tier characters.
Dang, I just lost the 50\50 and got Clara. The points were good about break, now I need to replan my night tonight.
Only issue I have is putting Xueyi above Acheron when they both do the same thing, except Acheron does it significantly better and also does significantly more raw damage at similar investment levels, which only scales to infinitely more at extreme investment.
I can see putting them both in the same tier, one at each end perhaps, but having Xueyi above Acheron seems very weird to me, especially considering Acheron should get bonus points for having team comps full of characters that aren't in most other team comps!
For example you could have Xueyi with her best team, and Acheron with her best team running opposite sides of MOC and they won't be fighting over teammates at all.

You are right but this isn't a power tierlist, it's a versatility tierlist. Acheron goes below Xueyi because her teams are very restrictive, requiring 2 other nihility units to pair with her.

@@anshnanavati I covered that, its a positive not a negative. Saying this is like saying Xueyi is restrictive because she wants another dps and a harmony or two other harmony units to pair with her... All units require their teams to work. No units work on their own.

It's a positive in your "how good are these units in current MoC with the roster that I (or most people) currently have" tier list, which you seem to still be confusing with what the video is about. Like, what if someone wants to run Acheron, but instead of Xueyi, Jingliu on the opposite side of MoC? Then the fact that they both very much want something like a Pela or a Silver Wolf isn't a positive at all. (Good thing they can just run Jingliu with Blade or even a double harmony then, and she'll still be okay. If anything, I have some gripe with her not being considered more versatile than Acheron too.)
The fact that Xueyi can run with whatever mix of harmony, nihility, or another SP-efficient DPS and still not handicap herself as much as Acheron w/o 2 nihilities makes her more versatile. Yes, perfect/BiS team comps are a thing, but it does matter how much you can deviate from them and still be fine.

Some thoughts to add:
- Xueyi is too high. The only argument you gave was typess toughness damage but if there's no quantum-weak enemies then she suffers heavily. Super break is a game changer for her but it doesn't solve the quantum problem since the enemies still need to be broken before she can start super breaking.
- Guinaifen is way too low. She has the most versatile kit in the game with her being able to do damage, apply DoT, debuff enemies (with a type of debuff that's even more rare than defense shred at this point), apply consistent debuffs, and be a nihility character (funny that that's relevant). The only thing she can't do is follow-up attacks but she can still be useful for a follow-up team because of ratio. She can use basically any stat since she can pivot between being more supportive and more damage-focused (so she's even versatile in what relics and light cones she can use). Her full support kit unlocks at E1 and she's been on every 4 start select I've seen so far so you don't even need her to be on a 5 star banner you're pulling on to actually get use out of her. She can't do anything better than anyone else but no one else can do as many things as she can (even silver wolf who is probably the closest comparison). She's really the epitome of versatility.
- I think there's a decent argument to moving argenti up to B. His double ult can put out a good bit of damage to 1-2 enemies so you can use him in stuff like MoC. Himeko maybe having superbreak use was enough to get her to B and he's at least as usable as her since he doesn't need super break for it. He won't be better than the usual low-target stars but when you consider that he basically solves PF on an element with no other AoE characters outside of clara I think he adds a lot of total value to the account.
- I think sampo might be more versatile becauase of the lack of accessible wind DPS (dan heng kek) but my judgement on him might be clouded by having him E6. And that's without taking into the new game mode assuming it's actually single-target where he'd be pretty good. I don't feel very strongly here though.
- Clara might be worth moving up since she basically gives you a second team for any game mode. She doesn't do break effect or DoT or this or that fancy job and needs more cycles than most other DPS but that's fine. She murders things and takes some heat off other characters which is versatile enough.
The rest is either fine or I don't have enough experience to have an issue with. Even then the only things that really stick out to me is Xueyi and Gui and Xueyi might not even be that off depending on how super break shakes out.
Oh btw wont speak on too much of this as idk bu i totally agree wi wanting sampo to be placed higher as he both is a bounce character meaning he can hit multiple characters an he can apply dots wind shear on his attacks all innately which is insanely strong early game as dot multi target teams really carried me easily early on an it was suuper nice, tbh i din eben remember him when i firs got him an i din like tha i got him bu as i used him i learned his power only reason i can see him not being placed as high is getting a abundance of dps units who are similar altho most dont apply dot effects on all attacks an cause of the multiple great 5 star dot units already especially wi 2 of the dot team units being wind element so you will hab difficulty slotting him into tha team if you hab the team fully despite it being his best team to move into late game
Robin 1k attack boost and passive crit dmg + action advance makes her hyper tier. Now that Break team is here she won't have to compete with Ruan Mei either.
You should make different tier lists in the same vid. Make a dps, sustain and harmony/nihility one
Dan Heng, D tier, proceeds to build him as my main anyway. I started playing HSR last week, I got Robin in 14 pulls 50/50 and Welt in beginner banner and I am maining Dan Heng because why not? 😂

Clara is decent because she works with ratio and is tanky enough to survive.
Im kinda worried about character who are built around breaking the enemy like firefly or boothil. I think both character are super cool and look fun to play, but they immediately lose majority of their damage if the enemy is immune to break. Im kinda curious how others think about this🤔
Yeah, thinking about Constance now, She will probably be the new DoT Queen, my Kafka and Swan are taking 40% of enemies health before the break, but watching Boothill 3 shots a entire enemy boss Hp is still way to broken 😅

putting DHIL in B tier and Acheron in A feels a little biased ngl... they both have specific team comp requirements and they both do a lot of dmg with a good comp, either put both in B or both in A.

@@deadpaul6587you could run him with rm and bronya, boothill is very good at being a hypercarry since he have innate break mechanic (unlike firefly v1) and break effect to crit rate crit dmg conversion so he could still hit quite hard without breaking
his only downside is being a hunt, faster break than firefly or xueyi but not comfortable with 3 enemies or more

ur so biased against acheron, she is ez above every single char in the game. She has the highest dmg and ignored ennemy elemental type, one of her best teams is complete+y f2p and broken. Even at E0, if u have her then you will be able to clear all content

The answer is no one 😭 they are honestly irreplaceable… especially ruan Mei .
For Bronya, the closest 4 star alternative would be Yukong as she increases crit rate and crit damage for all allies on her ultimate when her skill is active, although she doesn’t action advance unless you give her DDD. However, she’s hard to use without her E6. As for Ruan Mei, I’m not sure.

Xueyi is so so fun and versatile. I am building her despite having good 5 stars and there are scenarios where she can outperform them. Disclaimer I have her e6.
Not sure I totally agree with topaz. I'd say she is efficient. I used her in pure fiction with himeko and it works pretty good. Not great but okay.

For a day one player or a very invested account robin is the strongest harmony while sparkle is the weakest if you have a very invested account you can abuse robin buffs like crazy because once you play dual dps no sustain comp there is no going back and robin is now key for it and ruan mei been second best option and its opposite for newer players ruan mei being the strongest option and robin being the weakest.
Kinda disagree with Ratio one. I’ve been using him since his release and he can work well without Topaz as a hypercarry if you need imaginary DPS. The FUA is just his way to do damage, which pairing with Topaz will create a new FUA focus team. He is not that niche imo.

As newplayer Herta was incredible to be able to clear 2 floors in PF and I can slap her in every team.
from DPs perspective best char is able to clear both MOC, POF and even the new ST game mode.
from support point - the unit that can be sloted in most teams and contribute at least on ok level
from sustain point - you slap the unit in team and no one dies

Black swan is definitely in gold standard though. She is amazing with Acheron and Dr ratio and in pure fiction. Agree that she is generally not as good as pela but there are often scenarios where I take her instead of pela. If they are wind weak then black swan is an easy pick over pela. Also if you are running topaz with black swan for Dr ratio then all enemies will always have a 60% chance of follow up and on every wave and one will always have an 80% chance before applying any debuffs! Plus black swan actually has her own damage which is very good. She is epic in pure fiction. Often arcana just destroys multiple waves without even doing anything! Definitely gold standard, almost top tier.
So in summary she is useful for hunt characters, pure fiction, dot and Acheron. That's basically the entire game. She can be run as skill point positive. She has defence down, she is arguably one of the best units in the game now I have considered all of this! Is there any scenario where she doesn't add something? Her worst comp is probably Dan Heng but even then, she can be skill point positive has epihony (however you spell that) to amp his damage and add hers own damage too! Seriously, the more I think about it I can't think of anything she can't add something to?

I've been playing around with Robin the last few days and I have to say I agree with your Gut and that she should be A tier.
Her high Energy cost really hurts her in most content unless you run a full Follow up team or you're able to O cycle MoC to keep her buffs going. She is great in PF though.
She's strong and her skill and Talent are great and pretty universal, which is why I wouldn't put her in Niche, but you need to think about what content you're doing to make effective use of her Ultimate and be able to keep that Ultimate going.
She's nowhere as versatile as Sparkle and especially Ruan Mei.

Your instinct is totally right with Robin. What you are having somewhere in the back of your mind is the Jing Yuan LL case. Restricted =/= Versatile. Im not smart enough to describe the issue which I expect, but being spd locked in ult and debuffable while in that state might come with consequences sometime later.

When I see Kafka in Golden Standard teir while Black Swan was in niche team. I know there is something wrong. Black Swan made DOT teams very strong, while also benefitting non-DOT DPS. While Kafka is only good at DOT comp. Before Black Swan's release, Kafka is only an average enabler overrated due to being the first "mommy" introduced in game.
Put Kafka in a non-DOT and non-Nihility Path SU run, she is as useless as Arlan. Put Black Swan in that team, Black Swan will make that team into a DOT comp without any other enabler.

Of course for now Ruan Mei is irreplaceable. Except they introduce a new harmony in future who is having break damage/efficiency kit. Ruan Mei is too flexible in all type of team comps right now.

Robin does replace her in terms of none break teams (obvi not break teams as thas her best in slot team) shes able to very much surpass ruan mei a bi in many ways in basically any other team shes as universal as ruan mei infact more universal, only difference is she is way more risky an harder to play bu shes stronger if you know how to mess wi things correctly
Xueyi is such a strong unit and her kit is more fun than most 5 star characters

Don worry, its sustain firs generally then support then dps an thing is, its really fun cause wi certain units you can jus easily feel a boost in your power your firs 1 or 2 sustains will make your teams feel soo much more comfy then your supports will make your dps units feel sooo much stronger then your dps will make your team as a fully acquired team feel suuper strong, keep in mind you can do it in reverse order too going dps before harmony if the dps is a really great beginner friendly dps an maybe you could eben go dos before sustain if you did tha, ig wha im saying is any 5 star sustain is gonna make you feel way stronger most 5 star supports in most situations will make you feel way stronger an a few 5 star dps will make you feel way stronger
I think Clara good character and pretty underrated, but ok.
She really is her eidolons is one of the better ones too out of the standard 5 stars so she ages pretty well if you invest in her. Never had any issue with her against physical weakness enemies in both pure fiction 4 and moc 12 since she hits like a truck each counter despite relying on enemies to hit.

She is very good but she is a bit eidolon dependent. E2 for colorless follow-up damage and e6 for more follow-ups. Her hybrid build is hard to manage but her pure break build with HMC is really powerful (don't know if I would bring her to non Quantum weak battles in that team though)

ngl the xueyi spot caught me off guard, but I see the vision. I'm at e5, but I'm thinking about building her. this was a good concept for a tier list, b/c imo the game is too dynamic for the ones ppl typically make. I also regularly use hanya, and I HATE that her "debuff" doesn't count as a debuff, b/c if it did she'd easily be as valuable as tingyun or pela, imo.
I hope they call it a "bug" and just make it a proper debuff frfr.

And that Acheron team is just that same DOT team where you just take ruan mei and put acheron . that thing does not make kafka any versatile, I mean you can do that for Topaz Ratio duo too , take aven and Robin from RRAT team replace them with huohuo and ruan mei
Kafka and topaz are not the same, Kafka is a real dot enabler while topaz is the best fua support. Dot teams without kafka is not the same with fua teams without topaz

I have to disagree specifically bc Topaz is great as a hunt and FUA support but she was terrible AOE. Kafka has FU AOE and reigns supreme over DOT. I love Topaz but I know how she is limited and how Kafka is more versatile than her.

She is a break dmg dealer without the ability to do break dmg. HMC is super versatile, but characters that rely solely on HMC's super break are very VERY bad. The stats may be overtuned, but the kit is atrocious.
The only character i regret skipping is Huo Huo.
Harmony trailblaze essentially provides honkai with a semi equivivalant to hyperbloom. Super break teams are very low investment requirement to succeed, only needing break effect scaling and level 80 to be very competitive. Amazing resource for any range of players.
