I, myself, would have taken it down another .000625" but, then, that would just be "splitting hairs"
.000625 would have been too much. 000623 would have been just right mark
Taking that much down could be a hairy situation
Lol 😆
BAAHAHA... Well, doggone it Dad, Go to bed, You're drunk again.🥴🍸🥴🍸🥴
LOL This is Awesome Pharraoh, thanks for the laugh !!!!!!!!
As a furbabies mom I think this would be a treasured item to keep a part of our furbabies after they past instead of ashes in a urn!!
Thank you Angela, or ashes in the urn of their hair
I love this!!! Are you taking orders?
Came to ask about this! My cat is going to pass sooner than later and this would be the greatest way for me to memorialize him.
That bowl is awesome!
I used to do resin work but I'm not set up to do what you're doing.
Also, on the gold leaf, you don't want the size to dry completely but to a tacky state. The way to test its readiness is with your knuckle. It should feel almost dry but have a little grab left when you lightly press your knuckle to it. And it doesn't matter what adhesive you use as sizing the 'its ready' test would be the same. Once the leaf is applied and completely dry you can float a thin layer of some clear coating of your choosing over the leaf so that it's encased and you can wash it in the future without losing any gold. Real gold won't tarnish but composition leaf will..and a coating over comp leaf will prevent the tarnish.
Seriously, please let me know if I can commission a piece. Thanks for the video. Such a great idea!
I was thinking that too! Would be better than having ashes
I'd have one of my cats fur 😻
I used my dog's hair to make a resin pen blank. He was black and white, but i ony had the white hair. So i painted the tube black and cast the hair in clear. It really turned out beautiful and resembled black and white marble. Really enjoyed watching your project - nice to know there are other people as nutty about their dogs!
Thank You, That's awesome, I tried to use the tail from one of my horses and the hair was hollow and it didn't turn out nice at all.
@@PohlBarnProductions 😞
You could go online and promote these as pet funeral urns (of course you would have to add a lid) and you would probably make a great deal of money is a short time. The most unusual ideas often have the greatest reward. It was a really cool video, and the pot was awesome especially where the color was lighter and the light shown thru. Great work as usual.
Thank You Jackie, we've already considered the urn thing and we just have to figure out the logistics of it all
@@PohlBarnProductions the thing that made me stop using resin was after a memorial piece. Resin yellows and I hated that
What a sweet idea to honor your stud, Jack! His fur is a lovely tri-color and made for an interesting medium for a bowl. The gold on the rim was a really cute touch!
Thank you Doug!
Thank you Texana, Jack is brindle, and throws Skittles when it comes to colors on pups
Unique and absolutely gorgeous. Do you sell those? I want one!!
So fun never seen anyone literally make a DOG bowl! Love the look and shape.
Thank you Brenda
I had my doubts about this one, but it turned out really nicely! I know many ‘pet parents’ who would love one like that made with their pet’s fur!!
Thank You Lee,
I like it just the way it is! Beautiful and creative.
Thank You Thank You
This is STUNNING!!!! It looks like ceramic!!! Very gorgeous piece of art, AND a momentum of your precious pup!!! I really love how it looks!!!
Thank you so much Cindy!
That is the most creative way I've ever seen dog hair used. Many furbaby parents would love to have something like this after their furbaby isn't here to hug anymore.
Thank you Christine, it seems it's brought a unexpected new business venture for me.
You breathed some amazing life into your first attempt at cloning Jack..👍
Thank you Greg
Gives a whole new meaning to “hair of the dog” turned out great Doug!
Thank You Thank You LOL yup that one's been used already
Yea, make shot, rocks, and high ball glasses for hangover cocktails and sell them under the name “Hair of the Dog.” 😂
I love it! As an owner of 2 dogs, I would love something like this. X
Thank you Victoria
Hair and antler (and rhino horn, etc) are essentially made of the same material, keratin, so it makes sense they smell the same. Fun project!
Thank you Thank you
The gold leaf glue stuff needs to dry until just tacky to the touch to work perfectly, but I love the way it turned out on this project! It makes the pot look like it's had a long and well used life. It's just lovely the way it is! Thanks for another great video, Doug.
Thank You Pauline, that was the first time I've ever used it and I was surprised how easily it tore, and then it wouldn't stick, LOL
Ingenious! Awesome way to honor your beloved family member.
Absolutely! Thank You Dena
Beautiful pot. I really like how it turned out. Awesome idea. Great tribute to Jack. 💕❤
Thank you Joalla
Gorgeous little pot for a tiny garden
Thank you Thank you
Ha-ha, finally a bonus clip again, thank you. But you are a creative guy Doug. It looks very nice, almost like a kind of transparent marble-like stone. Very attractive. Wonderful 30 minutes, my friend. Thank you very much and have a nice weekend. 👍👍👍
Thank you very much! I am glad you like it !!!!!!!!!! Thanks for watching
Love your light heartedness and creativity!
Thank You
Jack’s forbidden cotton candy 😂. Great job Doug and creative as usual.
Thank You Glenda
It turned out way different than I imagined, I love the colour it turned out. You go, keep doing what you do.
Thank you Frances! Cheers!
Awesome Jackpot! Turned out surprisingly great. I didn't think dog hair would have turned out so nice.
And, Jack looks amazing after his spa day. Very dapper. Very, very cute! He definitely deserved a gold rim.
Thanks so much Karen!!
I liked that you are willing to go out of the box with dog hair of all things. You created a beautiful and unique bowl that is rustic which I like.
Thank You Alice
I freaking love this idea!!!! I want one made out of my kitties fur! 😂❤ LOVE IT. And great job on the gold leaf. I love how it looks sort of rustic. If it was perfect it wouldn’t suit the project. 🎉
Thank You Thank you! 😊
That’s such a unique way to be able to remember your fur baby! Wish I was talented like that. Great job.
Thank You Kelly, I am sure you could learn to do this in no time
You never disappoint always coming up with something new I also like when you revisit some of your older projects from when you first started and how you change it over time
Thank You Brad.
Really enjoy your work and that you dont shy away from pointing out any issues you have!!
Thank you Kim, I think that's what makes my channel, I'm not fake and we all make mistakes and I show mine
I think it turned out terrific & it's quite unique! Love the addition of the gold-leaf rim 💛 😍
Thanks so much Rebekka! 😊
I love this. Even the way the gold didn’t come out like you wanted it to makes it look antique.
Thank You Kat
Sorta odd, but really pretty and unique as a keepsake for for cute dog!! I'll be back to see more of your interesting creations. 😁 Subscribed! Nice work!!
Thank You Thank You and Welcome Aboard !
I have not been able to stop itching and scratching since I watched this guy get totally covered with fiberglass resin
Thank You Terry, LOL
Absolutely beautiful!! I love the 'rustic' look of the gold too :)
Thank you Thank you
I love the way that it is a little "ruff" around the edges!
What a great way to immortalize a fur baby! Love it.
It really is! Thank You Kerri
I just came across this and that bowl is absolutely gorgeous 🥰
Thanks so much! 😊
That's a clever way of making use of what you have around you.
Thank You Terry
Definitely a great dog treat bowl, I wonder what the dogs will do when they smell it lol. I think it looks really cool to be honest.
I hope I sealed it well enough to keep that smell from them but those noses know
That is a creative way of keeping a reminder of Jack.
Thank you James
Cool one, Doug. The bowl turned out beautiful. 😊😊😊
Thank you so much Rob 😀
I live the imperfect rim of gold. It adds a lot of character to the piece. I also think using the dog hair grooming fluff a wonderful way to remember your special boy! Thank you for this video.
I totally agree! Thank you Jan
That came out really pretty, Doug. That's a cool idea I never thought of. My Boykin sheds at least one of himself a week, might have to try this one. 🙂-Mike
Sounds great! Mike, maybe try a thinner resin, I played hell trying to get the bubble out. Thanks again for watching
Love your Jackpot, the fur gives even better effects than I I imagined.
As a dog owner I've often thought of 'doing something' with all the hair we brush out of them. You did it! Great job.
Thank You Dean, and it turned out much better than I expected it to
Dog and cat fur can be cut up and added to soil or a compost bin as an enrichment. So can human hair.
Though this would take alot of dog fur it can be processed like wool and turned into a yarn to crochet or knit into a scarf.
Very nice Jack pot! Maybe if you had washed the fur before using it it might have smelled good. The bowl turned out really nice. Nice touch with the gold rim. Pup was cute too. Hope he can father a few new pups too!
Thank you Linda, Jack and the fur were washed then it all was brushed out of him, I took it then to make the bowl
Scent of burning hair is nasty.
❤❤❤ Absolutely love this! How beautiful. I've been saving hair of all my beloved pets and have been looking for years to find the right thing to do with it.... I think I just did..... so grateful for you, showing this wonderful idea ❤❤❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching Hanneke !
I love this bowl! Imperfections and all!
Thank you very much !
That is beautiful, for those that want to preserve something of their beloved pet, this is something that would last for many enjoyable yrs.
We agree! Barb
Wow, that turned out much better than I thought it would when you were pouring it. Love the creativity. Thanks Doug!
Thank You Derek
Love the name you gave it - Jack Pot! The antiqued look of the gold leaf was perfect!!!
Thank You Kellie
Don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s absolutely beautiful and perfect..the “look” reminds me of turtle shell. Great job!
Thank You Thank You
It really came out extremely pretty. Dog hair, who'd have thought the finished product came from that!
Thank You Connie
I love what you have done here and i know a lot of dog owner's would love it to 🤩
Thank You Thank You
I have thought about doing one like that for a while now. I have a German shepherd and god knows I have enough fluff to do it!! The Jackpot came out awesome!!
You should! Thanks for watching Justin
I have a friend who can spin dog fur into yarn. What a memorable way to preserve your furry friend forever!
I know someone who's wife does that same thing, Thanks for watching
I like the shape of the bowl but I also like the subtle color changes in the puppy hair. Looks pretty good to me.
Thank You Lynda, I thought it looked like smoke plumes
At first I thought it was kinda creepy but it’s actually a really nice bowl. As someone said it’s a great way to have a memory of a precious pet.
Thank you Sharon
WOW, Thanks for sharing your Jackpot with us. And just WOW!!
Thank You Nancy,. And Thanks for watching!
Finally! Something to do with dog hair. It came out beautiful. And yes the sizing has to dry completely before you put the gold leaf on. It becomes sticky when it dries. You did a great job, I think it’s beautiful.
Thank you Peg ! Thanks for the tips!
Amazing video! This bowl is gorgeous, I can't believe it was made with resin and dog fur. Just beautiful ❤
Thank you Christine! 😊
I love it, and it would be a wonderful memorial for a beloved pet who may have passed . .
Thank you Jennifer
That was really cool to see the end result. Your dog couldn't have had a better name for this project! That name was amusing to me. Hugs to Y'all
Thank You Dawn, well His name is Jack because my wife and daughter thought it would be funny to give him a middle name of Mehoff, our last name is Moore ! they are just bad.
Whoever thought you could make a pot out of dog hair. Great idea and nice work!!
Thank You Danny !
Definitely the most unusual things I've ever seen done in resin but I like it. Thanks for sharing it with us.🐕
My pleasure 😊 Thank You Shawn
Really surprised at how pretty this turned out!
Thank You, I was too
Wasn't sure about the dog hair at first. It turned out great!! Great bowl Jack Jack! Kind of like the smoke look with the hair. It's different.
Thank You Carrie, Glad you liked it!!
Beautiful I love the colors and shape of the bowl cool idea
Thanks so much Raven!
I raised my eyebrow at the beginning saying , what is he thinking ! Was I shocked by the beautiful results!
So was I actually, thanks for watching
WOW!!! That's beautiful!!! I love seeing stuff done like this in my state. First time viewer, and now going to be a returning watcher.
Thank You Thank You And Welcome Aboard !!!!!!!!!
Beautiful piece of work….
Thank You Thank You
I have to doff my cap. You have managed to make something genuinely lovely that is also quite revolting. Very nice work and very interesting, thanks for sharing.
Thank You David, I called it gross at the beginning !
@@PohlBarnProductions Lol. I only watched because I couldn't imagine what it would turn out like but it is something I'd be proud to have ornamenting my home. You do very good work, and very original too. Love the channel.
That`s so cool. A great idea and way to keep your pooches fur and turn it into a lovely bit of art that will last a long time. Wish I was that skilled, you made it look a lot easier than it was. Well done!
Thank you! 😊 I am sure with a little practice you could do this as well
As a lover of pets, I feel like that was a helluva an idea! A d watching you make it was soooo soothing. Thank you
Thank you Christina
I was really not sure about it at first but there is no denying that the finished bowl is beautiful.
Thank You Lucille
Jack is beautiful! The bowl is beautiful. You may have just created a new industry...people can send you the fur of their beloved pet and you can make a bowl, or box. or how about a picture frame!?! It's something to keep forever.
Thank you, this is true
Really caught by surprise just how good it was at the end. Amazing Doug😍
Thank you David
I love how the gold leaf turned out, a rustic look...very nice!🙌
Thank you Susan
This reminds me of antique mourning Jewlery and art families used to make out of their loved ones hair. It might be a nice way to memorialize a pet.
Thank you Kyle, that though has crossed my mind a few times now
I would have loved this with my dogs hair , especially as I lost him last year and miss him so much ,you make some truly wonderful things
Thank you Jennifer, I miss Henry that much too,
Beautiful! What a keepsake for a loved pet 😍
Thank you Liz,
I would live to have an urn made out of resin and my dog's fur. What a cool experiment!
Thank you Michelle, that though has crossed my mind too, collecting the hair from our Huskies as I type
It actually turned out pretty nice. Wasn’t so sure when it looked like it was turning more black. But in the end, it’s pretty cool looking.
Thank You Wanda, me too actually and then when finished it looked like plumes of smoke
Great job on Jack's custom water bowl.
Thank You Mitch
I think it turned out cool I like how when you hold it up to the light you can see through the bowl you can see through his fur but I think it turned out pretty cool even for your first time doing the gold leaf
Thank you Carrie, I think it looked like plumes of smoke
Ha ha ha….. brilliant, particularly the last few seconds 😂. Loved the ‘Jack Pot’ as well….. I would never have thought it could work, but it turned out so cool!! 👍
Thank you Belinda, I am glad you liked it
I absolutely adore this! I would love to have something like this from my baby's fur!
Thank You Cheryl
Ohhhh I LOVE that! Manny years ago I had a big black standard poodle and after every winter grow out I’d groom 'three bags full' and always wished there was something to use her awesome hair for. I think you’re really on to something there!! Lots of people keep vessels with their pets' ashes and I'd definitely have desired to have you make one with her hair. 👍👏👏👍
Thank you Karen, I have one in the front room I intended on making an urn for, I haven't been able to bring myself to making it yet, I miss that dog
@@PohlBarnProductions they sure have a way of moving into the deepest part of our hearts don’t they?! Im sorry for your loss
First time watching this. Really good! Didn't expect it to turn out so good. Dog fur and resin.... amazing!!! Thanks for showing the video 🙂👍
Thanks so much 😊 to tell you the truth neither did I
It's fantastic, I love it. I, also, don't mean to be maudlin, but if you could make a lid for it, it would be a fabulous tribute to Jack to hold his ashes when he reaches his old age and passes on ❤️
Thank you Stacey, making a lid or even a small urn would be cool, I can't do that for this bowl as it's been sold
The fur looks really cool . Very creative project. Great job!
Thank you Bruce! 😊
absolutely love this!! what a great honor for your little stud 😍
Thank You Cheryl
This is really a spectacular piece of work 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you Gina
Look 👀 great. Definitely let the adhesive dry before adding the leaf. ❤ Jack is now permanently memorialize
Yes! Thank you! I always rush my project, Thanks again for watching Maddie
Love the look of this pot.
Thank You Penney
Awesome when a family loved the dog so much they can make his own bowl out of his hair I wish I would have thought of that when I had my Pomeranian it was all red thanks for the show
Thank You Thank You
Brilliant project Uncle Doug. Really turned out beautiful.
Thank you Japie! Cheers!
Very cute Pom. Love the idea . memory of a great pal for someone besides ashes of their wonderful pet, Keep up the great ideas.
Thank You Marilyn
If Nick hasn’t seen this he will be proud of you and taken a chapter out of his nutty book I love ❤️ it! So will he!
He's only ever watched one of my videos that I know of and he made a comment but I did tag him in it as I made one of his projects
@@PohlBarnProductions that’s too bad, this bowl is beautiful and sentimental. I lost our 4th girl in December in 18 months and she was our Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. They give only little pieces of their hair with their ashes. Sadly I have only crap boxes for there little ash bags. And currently only have them on my mantle, all 4 of them. Yup since I started talking to you I lost them all. I haven’t figured out yet what to do with them. This bowl when she passes will be your treasure from her maybe save it and make her ashes into lid. And put her favorite things including toy, harness, a picture, shirt/dress, etc then seal it. Make it more personal. Use would with the ashes to make it a bit heavy.
I haven’t yet got my equipment to turn.
I do have some things I’d like to send you to have fun with though. Maybe make some new things and more adventures.
I don’t keep up with Nick much anymore and what I’ve seen he’s having a tough time.
Me FB jacked me, which has made it hard for me to relaunch me off ground. I’d rather explain more in a letter. Than here.
But I truly as I’ve been trying to tell you in prior messages, have things for you to enjoy and make more fun items to share on here. Your always looking for things. Always happy to share! And happy to share with someone who is truly worthy! Plus I think your wife also would enjoy as well!

Way to take one in the olfactories for our entertainment. It turned out nice.😁
It turned out beautiful, I love it !!!!
Thank you Lynn
I think that is a great way to have a forever reminder of a lost pet but maybe if you wash and dry the hair first but I love it
Thank You Sam
