PLEASE READ: This is a Pet Budgie, not a wild bird. The Budgie is not native to Ontario, Canada. They are native to Australia. I would never randomly catch a wild bird. Our winters are brutal and most likely he would not survive our winter. Budgies that are wild and live in Australia are Green in color. Breeders have developed many color mutations such as this blue budgie that I found. You will never see a blue budgie in the wild unless it got loose from it's owner or someone let it go. Also pet budgies can be green here in Ontario and all over the world that are pets. Many people loose their pet bird through open windows or doors in their homes. This is clearly a pet and just because it's not handtame it still is a pet. When a pet bird is not tame they are considered to be wild but not wildlife. If a bird owner has two birds that have babies and they don't handle the babies they will be wild birds but still pets that live in their homes. A lot of people have birds that are not tame and consider them wild or untamed. The word WILD means untamed but still a pet. I hope this clears things up for those of you who think I am mean to catch this Budgie. It's more cruel to leave him outside. Hope you enjoyed the video and can use my method on how to catch a loose bird. Usually they go in the cage but flying into my birdroom was awesome! No one has claimed him yet, he may be my new bird! Love of Pets I caught a pigeon that had a band on it. It was a homing pigeon, but a bone was broken. The owner didn’t want it back, so we released it into a barn with two other pigeons. I haven’t checked on her in a while, but I hope she’s safe. I also rescued 3 (R.I.P the 4th) starving budgies from a pet shop. The owners didn’t know they were starving until one died. They were feeding them pellets, and the budgies didn’t know it was food. I’ve also rescued 2 cockatiels. One cockatiel was found by a doctor we knew, and we couldn’t find the owner. We decided to keep it. The second one the owner couldn’t take care of it anymore. We decided to keep it too.
Love of Pets I live in Ontario Canada as well and I am glad you caught him. It is sad when people don’t want them they let them go instead of turning in to a shelter.
years ago i saw a budgie in a tree in my back yard, i brought out a step ladder climed up and he hopped onto my finger. i brought him into the house and named him (freddy the freeloader) had the little guy for 11 years he was the best little buddy i ever had. really miss him !
Fun fact: The reason he/she is copying the sound of the sparrows is because he/she was probably part of their flock! Sparrows are very nice and willing to accept any birds that seem alone into their flock. The sparrows accept them as their own, and bring them to food, shelter, and help them survive! But of course so so glad you caught that budgie because it of course isnt a wild bird and probably doesnt know a predator yet!
Blue Bird Studios Plus housing sparrows are not nice lol. They are invasive, stealing nesting material from native birds, and kick out blue birds and other next boxing natives. So no sparrows are not nice and budgies are just good at mimicking.
Corrin Jessen yeah thats true i forgot about house sparrows😂 one day i was walking and i was near a bush taking pictures of the house sparrows and they just started swooping at me or something😆i just walked away and gave them their space lol
It's very surprising how far wings can take a bird. It may not seem far, but trust me, they can travel very very long distances. So yes, I wouldn't be surprised if someone's budgie from America somehow migrated to Canada (that is if it was a state closer to Canada)
Some years back I came back from school to find an exhausted lost budgie perched on top of my budgie's cage in the back yard. He was so tired I was able to grab a towel and just plop him into our spare cage. He was also apparently very hungry. Poor little guy. We kept him until he passed roughly two years later.
I had a budgie that flew away about 3-4 years ago. I know for sure it’s not mine but I’m glad that you found it rather then a person with no experience with birds. Good luck!
When I was in the 8th grade I went to the swimming pool and found a budgie there. His head was completely bald and he was very stressed. I remember everyone at the pool was trying to catch him with their hands, only stressing him more. So I stepped up, covered him with a towel and caught him. The lifeguards gave me a box and I took him him where he spent his life relaxing and playing with his budgie girlfriend! We never found his owners, but I was kind of glad because I loved him so much. He died in 2013, and I still miss him, he was such a cute bird. His head feathers never grew back but I considered his bald spot part of his charm lol!
so a little over 2 months ago i lost my cockatiel who was under a year old, he was hand reared by me and hadn't had his wings clipped and never had been outside, he would fly around my house and was pretty chill. on the 18th of April he fell out of an open window and panicked so started to fly but he lost his sense of direction and soon he was out of sight. we put up plenty of posts in hope of someone finding him but never did, i had lost hope. Today we got a message and turns out someone had found him! so now i have my baby back but I'm going to have put in a lot of work to regain his trust and let him heal as he was living in the wild for as i said over two months! its a miracle he is even alive still let alone back with me. I'm scarred he will never fully be tamed again but i won't lose hope now after i had given up on him. To anyone who has lost a bird don't lose hope, miracles do happen!
I lost a parakeet that had gotten out of his cage.I put another cage out on my front porch with his buddy in it and he called to the guy that got out and low and behold he landed on his old cage from our Apple tree and I just brought the cage in my house with him on the outside of the cage. His buddy called and called him and that’s how I got him in.Sooo glad you were able to catch your cockatiel.
My dad caught a budgie in front of our house about one year and a half ago. We kept him, and I'm so happy to have this kind little bird in our home. He's very tame ever since.
red rivera you call budgies pretty even if its a cock bird ( cock bird is anther name for male bird) its a male even look at its sear its blue males have blue and girls have white or maron depeding on there age
When you mentioned that he probably wouldn’t be happy in captivity I think he will because even though the sparrows have accepted him, he was clearly trying to get inside that cage with the other budgies. You are such a kind and patient person to spend 8 hours to catch him! Such a cool video!
You were so very patient, I don’t think I could have stayed outside for eight hours for her, but I don’t have any budgies to tempt her with either. She was very lucky to have found you. Sweet video.
So fun to watch. Glad you rescued him... budgies won't last long in Toronto without help, especially when winter comes. Keep us updated on what you do with him!
I caught a loose budgie once by wheeling my budgie aviary outside and when he landed on the aviary, I slowly wheeled the whole thing inside the house. Then, it was a much easier task of netting him in the house. Thanks for taking the time to save this little guy's life. Now he gets to be in a flock of his own kind. The best thing that could happen for him is if you keep him and he can live in your beautiful bird room.
That was so patient and kind of you to do that. I don't understand all these thumbs down you got. If no one else had caught it, it would not have survived the winter. Good grief!
This is very interesting. When I was a kid, one day I let one of our budgies out of his cage in our house. Unaware to me our patio door was open. He flew outside when he had the oportunity. I was soooo incredibly sad. Looked all day and into night for him, to no avail. I left some seed and water outside for him. The next morning I went out looking again. I actually found him. He was with a group of sparrows. It was almost as if the sparrows took him in. I brought my other bird's cage outside. He came to it and I brought him back inside. I was sooooo happy. I still think its interesting that sparrows will take budgies in. I've heard of this happening many times.
Love what you did and how you take care of your birds! I showed this video to my dad, he doesn't know a word of english but he almost cried looking at it! I saved a few birds that were chased by crows here (Cockatiels mostly) and I know how hard and frustrating it can get, but boy that feeling when you finally save the bird... can't describe it. You really feel satisfied. As I keep a few birds on my own that are outside the cage 8-24 and just go in to sleep and eat, I gave the rest to responsible people if I couldn't find owners. Again, love what you do. Keep it up!!! Birds are thankful! :)
Well done! One of my Budgie run away last year and dont know how he managed to survive. He come early morning with some sparrow, eat seeds from floor n fly away.
TheBellajulia they are catching a wild bird that she does not know anything about and could have chicks and there are now going to die and this is just a few reasons why this is cruel
Seriously? Budgies are not native to my area, he is a pet budgie. He is all alone, he did not live with a flock of budgies. Read my description and you will understand more. Budgies live in Australia in a huge flock with thousands of budgies. I am in Canada and we have freezing cold, snowy, icey winter's and he would be dead by now. There are tons of pet birds that fly out of people's windows all the time and they can not live in our climate. They are pets and not wild birds. It would be like dropping you off in the middle of the desert and saying good luck, go and survive, lol. I can't believe how anyone thinks like you. Do some research first before responding with the wrong information, read the description and ask me questions first before you decide that I am catching a wild bird for no reason. Why would I do that? I love wild birds and I feed them and if I find an injured wild bird I bring it to the wild life centre. It's against the law to capture wild birds and keep them as pets, the poor bird would suffer. This budgie was an escaped bird or someone let him loose because they did not want him anymore which is cruel. He is doing great and is happy with my flock now.
It was so amazing when he went in your house! I used to have a blue parakeet that looked just like him. A friend of mine caught him on someone’s front lawn. I hope you find his owners or decide to keep him! He’s very cute.
Aww so cute! I’m glad you were able to catch him. My childhood bird, which started my love for birds, was a lovebird who landed on my head while I was jumping on the trampoline. Never found the owner so my parents let me keep him.
Thank you for recording this process and glad the budgie is safe with you. Your budgies were probably chirping “This is a great place to be. You will get lots of care and love here! Come on in birdy!” I also believe the budgie was out there for awhile to be able to chirp like the sparrows. You will probably be owning him since it’s been so long. I just hope no one tries to claim him as theirs because they saw this video and know your proximity since you mentioned where you advertised in your video. Does he check out to be healthy?
Yes he seems healthy. I would need proof that it's there budgie before releasing him. If no one claims his I may keep him but that would mean I would have 9 budgies and need one more to make even numbers as they usually pair up. It make work with 9, I will see.
We just lost our budgie and have been insanely walking around our community calling his name hoping to find him. Put up fliers in our neighborhood and all I pray now is that he is safe In someone’s house like yours .You did a good thing by catching him and keeping him safe from wild birds and winter that could endanger its life. You are awesome…thanks for your patience and time to help the little guy.
Oh wow! I thought this vid was from LAST August. I live in Wisconsin so I KNOW how our Fall and Winters are. You are a true blessing for taking time out of your day to rescue him. I'm sure Jack appreciates your efforts.
I found a budgie nearing my pet budgies after going home from shopping. The bird was willing to go inside with the other two, and when it was with them, the budgie ate a lot of my pet lovebird’s food (my lovebirds are also budgies) and slept immediately. I just caught her today, and named her Ashy. Ashy fits well with the other two parakeets, and we plan to buy them a bigger cage. I was a dog vlogger, and started to vlog my pet budgies, and you can see our videos in my channel!
Super sweet story ! It should be obvious that it was no accident that this bird found you and yours . He may be chirping in sparrow to adapt but listening in parrakeet to find his own . ..
I caught a young yellow budgie a couple of years ago in San Antonio, TX. My aunt would see it eating with the chickens every morning but she couldn't catch it because it was too fast for her lol so I told her to cover the entire cage but one side & cover the whole thing as soon as the budgie goes in. We had no gloves so I said to myself, "A nice hard pinch won't kill me"😂 so I went in & caught it with my bare hands just to learn it was very friendly. Did not even nibble at my fingers much less bite. It was so cute💛 Thanks for sharing💙💙
Thank you for your dedication, perseverance, and patience in catching this budgie. This is a great resource for other trying to help stray budgies. Good job! Your care and consideration for animals is very evident. Thank you for being so considerate! Referencing your video to someone who has a Budgie coming to her yard daily that is clearly lost. (and in MN so it will soon get cold). Thank you again!
That was amazing! What a sweet video. I had budgies for many years. My brother was a ramp agent at JFK and he rescued about 40 beauties that had been released from a shipment. In a brown paper bag.. What a wonderful adventure with babiesetc.
Awe.... that is so sweet! We lost our blue budgie a couple months ago here in McDonough GA and we are so heartbroken about it. I hope someone as nice as you finds him and cares for him. He was such a sweetie
good name! I went through the same thing, mine went in the cage, but it took 2 days to get him in there. Kept trying, and finally, got him and closed the cage door quickly! He speaks sparrow as well! Same blue budgie like yours. No one has claimed him and i have him it's been 4 years now. Love him to pieces.
Ooohhh I caught a parakeet too...about a month ago one flew down on my front porch and was pecking around after a really bad thunderstorm ...I ran outside with a fish net and caught him...I kept yelling "come here little birdie you can't survive out here"😂....I caught him within about 5 minutes...brought him inside and immediately went out and bought him a cage and YEP he's mine now !! 😂
I I found a little blue budgie and what I did is asked my dad to get a towel and misted him with my hose and grabbed him with the towel and some people might think why did you mist it when you mist a bird since there feathers are wet they can't fly and that was my plan and it worked I got myself a free blue budgie he is a sweetheart
I just had to watch this video again after seeing the update of Capt Jack Sparrow on March 7, 2019. Wow, you put 8 hours into that effort last summer, but it sure paid off. Jack is a wonderful addition to your budgie flock. As much as I get a good feeling every time I see Jack in a video, I know that you have a good feeling about him; you rescued him from what would have been disaster and now he has a wonderful home.
True story... my mom lived in a retirement home. Every day she and her friends would sit outside and feed the pigeons. They were so surprised to find a budgie hanging out with the pigeons! He continued to visit for several more days, but then never returned.
Thanks for catching and offering to return the lost bird. I lost 2 at different times as a kid. I am 70 now and thinking about giving a senior parrot a home. This video was cool. jh
That happened to my cockatiel, the past family found him outside and somehow got him to come. They sadly had to surrender him after a few years and I took him in and he is now my buddy 💖
My dad and grandfather raised Budgies when I was a kid,so I learned a lot about them. They are cute and fascinating little guys. And with patience they can learn to talk.
So happy you got him. He may of survived a few month in the open if he found seed but the cold weather would be the worst for him. I have also lured budgies in with my own budgies. My feeders outside are always full of seed just in case there is one who is hungry. People don't really feed the wild birds around me but I always do. He does look like a young bird and I'm sure you will be able to tame him.🐦😘
I am happy I found him before the winter. There are so many missing birds out there. Some are deceased when found, they die of starvation, predators or exhaustion. I heard about another budgie in a parking lot last month that was very weak and wild birds were picking on him. By the time I got there it was gone. I hope someone else saved him.
This is such a great video. I love seeing everyone comment on here about helping to save budgies that were pets that unknowingly ended up in the wild. They have such a tough time out in the wild once they have been pets. Kudos to all of you that have been successful. Budgies are the sweetest babies ever and deserve a beautiful life❤️!
That is how I got my first budgie! Like it went into my hands. However, keeping in mind the overpopulation of cats I think you did a great job rescuing it and making it part of your family, it would probably take weeks for it to starve or get eaten as it is not a native bird. Such a cutie and very young!
poor little thing i wonder how long its been out there for! thank you so much for saving that budgie because when i could have been winter i dont think she/he would survie then! if you dont find the owner i think you should be the owner of that budgie!
I love how you did this. I used to lure my single budgie towards me with the sounds of other budgies played from my mobile phone. This might be useful for those who try to catch a budgie without the help of other budgies
About a year ago, there was a green budgie coming to my bird feeder. I really wanted a bird at the time and did plenty of research about budgies (pls don’t hate as it was someone’s lost pet and would’ve died that Christmas) and made a bet with my dad that if I could catch it I could keep it. He didn’t believe I could :) We didn’t have any budgies at the time, so we couldn’t use the method she did, we tried hanging a hamster cage with millet inside, it would sit on top, but couldn’t find a way inside. We ended up borrowing my neighbors old cat cage and caught it. But it squeezed through the bars while I was celebrating, we ended up putting mesh over it. I would sit behind it every day with the bird feeder inside until one day she went in and I pulled the string connected to the door. The whole process took two weeks. She was not young and w knew she was a previous pet and asked around, but no one claimed her. We named her Kiwi and then got her a friend, Blue (short for Blueberry). Kiwi and Blue are now pretty tame and will sit on my finger, or my shoulder. Blue will even give me kisses. It took me a few months, but now they are tame! And recently I even got two more budgies named Pickle and Twinkie, they are babies and I really want them to have a special bond with me and my sister. So yeah, if Kiwi had never come I would never be able to have a bird and develop my love for them. It was quite a blessing, and now they are quite content.
I caught a budgie outside before too! My next door neighbor new I had a budgie and then one day I heard a knock on my door and it was my neighbor and she asked me if I had lost my bird and I checked to make sure my budgie was ok and she was so I told my neighbor my bird was fine and then she told me that there is a budgie in her garage so I came over and caught the bird and put her with my other budgie and went to several different neighbors houses on my street and asked them if they had lost a bird but no one claimed her so I ended up keeping her! Sadly she passed away about 2 years after we found her but she was the sweetest! My other budgie has passed away since then too but now I have 4 different budgies ❤️
My entire family kinda flipped when we saw this, thinking you found our runaway budgie, Nela, until we realized that this was in Canada while we live in California
I lost my blue budgie named blueberry around the time of the upload of this video! I think that might be him! I live in the same area as where this budgie was found omg
BRAVA! How wonderful! I am going to share this video on Next Door - so many people think it's impossible to catch a budgie (or other parrot, canary, finch). You are right, we must rescue them if at all possible! :-) :-) :-)
Wonderful video! Jack Sparrow, how cute! I always wondered how other people found parrots and not me, lol! We had a Lilac Crowned Amazon that someone found in their yard and brought into our bird lady's store one day when we were there buying food. I had to have him. He was a wonderful boy. Died during the summer. We think he was about 30. Right now we only have Amazons and Goffin's Cockatoos....miss the Budgies!
I had similar instance last week. My dad and I were outside repairing his porch when a parakeet came flying right into his face before fluttering off. It was almost dark and we soon lost sight of it. The next day, it was back, munching on our bird feeder. we tried to get close, but to no avail. The next day was slightly chilly and with a frost advisory for that night, so we knew it probably wouldn't survive the night. Fortunately, I was able to catch it that afternoon with a fishing net. I know it's not exactly the nicest way to catch it, but it was a matter of life or death for the bird. Thankfully we were able to get a hold of its owner and the bird was safely returned.
A few years back I had 3 budgies. Two well trained and said a few words and one new young bird. It was a beautiful day and I put them on the deck to enjoy the sunlight and birds in the tree next to our deck. I was getting ready to give them fresh water and food so I opened the cage and my house phone rang.....before cell phones were so popular........and I ran to answer it forgetting the door was opened.......when I came out......all three were gone. It was fall and I knew it would be getting cold soon so I kept the cage there and continued to look for them but I never found not even one. I think they immediately hooked up with wild migrating birds because they knew the weather was changing. It was a difficult lesson but now I can laugh about it but when I see your lost and found bird I just pray that someone found mine and loved them the same way you did.
Can’t believe that there’s a video of this. I tried catching a budgie in our garden years ago. After a few fails I found that all I needed to do was to offer my finger for it to climb on. He did, no one was looking for him so he became mine and I named him George and he lived a long and happy life with us.
a lady found a budgie, but couldn’t keep it so i kept it instead, it’s right wing and leg is deformed, but still flies and perches just fine with no pain
awwwwwww, so sweet! Great patience in being able to capture and rescue the little fella. I'm sure he's much appreciative to have a nice warm place to stay now. I hope you find his owners, if not your birds will have a nice friend to play with. Thanks for sharing
what a lovely person you are to put so much effort into rescuing the budgie! I botched a feral cockatiel rescue once and felt bad about my incompetence. I now have some good pointers from you for future bird rescue attempts. Your birdroom is so nice...what a lucky fellow he is to have landed in your yard. Angel wings must have guided him there...
Wow!! Geat job!!! 😁👍❤ Loved this video it was very entertaining and funny that little guy gave you some challenges LOL. He's such a lucky bird you managed to catch him because he would've been in trouble out there especially during winter. Thanks so much for saving him not many people out there would have put in the effort you are awesome!!
A week ago, my roomate had a mental breakdown, open the cage and releasing all 15 budgies, not a single back came. It's been a painful and traumatic week for me. Please pray for me!
I’ve enjoyed this so much 😊. Been quietly watching your videos for some time. Your voice is peaceful & your content is informative & lovely. Thank you 😊❤. My daughter was visited by a wild released or escaped budgie too, when she had her budgies on the balcony. He became part of her flock too after being quarantined. Told her she’s a Disney Princess & so are you ❤. Again, thank you for saving it & giving it a loving & safe home 🥰.

A great method to catch a budgie close by is to have a sheet cover and kind of herd them in to the sheet cover to avoid it biting your or pooing on you. I's also really effective. I caught 3 budgies with this method.
I had a similar situation with my parakeet pine! She was not wild, but yet she did not like humans. I caught her, took her in, and now she’s as happy as can be with my two other parakeets
Wow you did good ,,you got it Am glad, I remember when I was young we had the windows open and a budgie came inside and I kept him until he died , I was 15 and been having birds ever seen, I have 2 cockatiels ,I love ❤️ all birds I also feed the wild birds❤️
You are very patient. I had one fly in and she landed on my finger. Same with us advertised her but no one came thru. She has been a busy girl with her babies. Her name my grand daughter gave her was Nella.😁

Some years back I came back from school to find an exhausted lost budgie perched on top of my budgie's cage in the back yard. He was so tired I was able to grab a towel and just plop him into our spare cage. He was also apparently very hungry. Poor little guy. We kept him until he passed roughly two years later.
i once caught a budgie with my friend. His wing was broken so we fixed it and after 2 weeks it flew away without goodbye :(
Well the good thing is he/she had a nice home for a while

Im gald you cought it and not the other people I feel like that bird would have not a nice life if they did
so a little over 2 months ago i lost my cockatiel who was under a year old, he was hand reared by me and hadn't had his wings clipped and never had been outside, he would fly around my house and was pretty chill. on the 18th of April he fell out of an open window and panicked so started to fly but he lost his sense of direction and soon he was out of sight. we put up plenty of posts in hope of someone finding him but never did, i had lost hope.
Same my yellow bird I had fell off the window and started getting freaked out and left ☹️
My dad caught a budgie in front of our house about one year and a half ago. We kept him, and I'm so happy to have this kind little bird in our home. He's very tame ever since.
He's a pretty budgie
Carol Bourlier agreed
Why would it be He if it is pretty? Did you mean She?
red rivera you call budgies pretty even if its a cock bird ( cock bird is anther name for male bird) its a male even look at its sear its blue males have blue and girls have white or maron depeding on there age
@@teenaredrivera9792 you can call a male pretty. They don't have to be a female to be called pretty.
red rivera They don’t need to be a she. Any gender of a bird can be called pretty. -_-
He’s a very chubby precious birb
When you mentioned that he probably wouldn’t be happy in captivity I think he will because even though the sparrows have accepted him, he was clearly trying to get inside that cage with the other budgies. You are such a kind and patient person to spend 8 hours to catch him! Such a cool video!
He is so so lucky to have found you. He seems extremely happy already.
You were so very patient, I don’t think I could have stayed outside for eight hours for her, but I don’t have any budgies to tempt her with either. She was very lucky to have found you. Sweet video.
I Lost My budgie 1 week ago at Sydney
I wish you live nearby and he will be safe with you
Please pray for my Rio
Good luck, keep looking and don't give up.
Im so sorry! The ironic thing is my budgies name is Rio. Goodluck! 😭
My budgie name is rio
Same happened to me 2 day ago In Sydney.
OMG! I feel so bad for you! Good luck finding him :( oh and my budgie’s name is Ria! It’s Rio with an A!
So fun to watch. Glad you rescued him... budgies won't last long in Toronto without help, especially when winter comes. Keep us updated on what you do with him!
It was fun to catch him. Winters are brutal for pet birds. I will keep everyone updated
I got one that came to my balcony 😁 we are so happy together
That was so patient and kind of you to do that. I don't understand all these thumbs down you got. If no one else had caught it, it would not have survived the winter. Good grief!
It surely would of died in the winter.
Glad your Dad enjoyed my video and thank you for watching. I still have Jack Sparrow.
Well done! One of my Budgie run away last year and dont know how he managed to survive. He come early morning with some sparrow, eat seeds from floor n fly away.
Great job. Not sure why anyone would give this a thumbs down???
Probably my hater.
TheBellajulia Probably someone who thought this was animal abuse because everrry animal in a cage is animal abuse

You are so lucky
Thank you for recording this process and glad the budgie is safe with you. Your budgies were probably chirping “This is a great place to be. You will get lots of care and love here! Come on in birdy!”
I also believe the budgie was out there for awhile to be able to chirp like the sparrows.
HEY THARS MY PARAKEET! His name is chch hope you have fun with him! Tell my boy i love him!🐦💙
KELLY SMILEY, lol

ITS WINTER MY BIRD WINTER I LOVE HIM I D8NT KNOW HOW TO PROOVE IT TO YOU I DONT KNOW HOW TO GET HKM BACK JUST KEEP HIM SAFE
I remember when I caught a budgie back in 2013 it was so nerve wracking trying not to make the Wrong move and scare it off.
What an awesome job; you’re such an expert on birds
Somthing similar happen to me my friend found an albino budgie across the street from my apartment . Her mom caught the budgie. We named her paris .
Lucky budgie
Just adopted a albino budgie
I have a albino budgie named Louie!
I just lost my albino budgie yesterday 😞
It looks like you have a new member of your house. He's so beautiful.
Super sweet story ! It should be obvious that it was no accident that this bird found you and yours . He may be chirping in sparrow to adapt but listening in parrakeet to find his own . ..
When you said he was biting himself, he was actually preening, which is a thing. It means the budgie is comfortable with its environment
Yes, it is no biting at all😁
I caught a young yellow budgie a couple of years ago in San Antonio, TX.
Florence Perez budgie bites dont hurt a lot, if they do hurt it still doesn’t break skin
Awww sweet little baby boy thank you for rescuing this happy baby 🐦
That was amazing! What a sweet video. I had budgies for many years. My brother was a ramp agent at JFK and he rescued about 40 beauties that had been released from a shipment. In a brown paper bag.. What a wonderful adventure with babiesetc.
Awe.... that is so sweet! We lost our blue budgie a couple months ago here in McDonough GA and we are so heartbroken about it. I hope someone as nice as you finds him and cares for him. He was such a sweetie
Nancy Dandy Don't give up! He may still be out there.
It's been 4 years since I caught Jack Sparrow as well 😀
Looks like a young bird. Hopefully he'll become tame and make friends with you and the other budgies. Well done for catching him!
Thank you for saving the budgie👍
I swear this little guy has a guardian angel. Led him to you!😭beautiful story!!!
Wow thats smart how come I never thought of that!
This was a wonderful video! ❤️🐦
Did you know: Parakeets with a blue thing ( nose ) above their beak is a boy? And ones with a whitish pink color are girls?
SCtrojanGrl it’s called a cere
True story... my mom lived in a retirement home. Every day she and her friends would sit outside and feed the pigeons. They were so surprised to find a budgie hanging out with the pigeons! He continued to visit for several more days, but then never returned.
This was a really good watch. I enjoyed seeing how you caught this cutie.💕
Oh wow, very interesting.
Once I saw a budgie hanging out with a group of sparrows
Well done! I was so invested in this video... it was exciting to watch. You are an awesome budgie mom.
Thank you
poor little thing i wonder how long its been out there for! thank you so much for saving that budgie because when i could have been winter i dont think she/he would survie then! if you dont find the owner i think you should be the owner of that budgie!
I still have, I had people contacting me but he was not their bird.
That's so cute! I'm so happy that there was a happy ever after.😁
I caught a budgie outside before too!
How long do they live?
@@joanlynch5271 Seven to fifteen years, usually.
My entire family kinda flipped when we saw this, thinking you found our runaway budgie, Nela, until we realized that this was in Canada while we live in California
Lol thanks ❤️ tbh he’s probably dead 😭
They can fly vast distances a day so he probably is
Oh yeah yeah
I lost my blue budgie named blueberry around the time of the upload of this video! I think that might be him! I live in the same area as where this budgie was found omg
BRAVA! How wonderful! I am going to share this video on Next Door - so many people think it's impossible to catch a budgie (or other parrot, canary, finch). You are right, we must rescue them if at all possible! :-) :-) :-)
Sure, share away. 😊
“He’s in oh sh*t he’s out” 😂😂😂😂
Wonderful video! Jack Sparrow, how cute! I always wondered how other people found parrots and not me, lol!
We had a Lilac Crowned Amazon that someone found in their yard and brought into our bird lady's store
one day when we were there buying food.
Great ending!
Hopefully someone found.
It must of been exciting to finally catch it. It doesn’t deserve to live in the wild where it could easily die.
Can’t believe that there’s a video of this. I tried catching a budgie in our garden years ago. After a few fails I found that all I needed to do was to offer my finger for it to climb on. He did, no one was looking for him so he became mine and I named him George and he lived a long and happy life with us.
That's great that he stepped up. Jack would not step up at all.
a lady found a budgie, but couldn’t keep it so i kept it instead, it’s right wing and leg is deformed, but still flies and perches just fine with no pain
Paris Gonzalez.I love you
what a kind soul you are
You're a good person
awwwwwww, so sweet! Great patience in being able to capture and rescue the little fella. I'm sure he's much appreciative to have a nice warm place to stay now. I hope you find his owners, if not your birds will have a nice friend to play with. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, he is safe and has a full belly now
That’s so cute. I’m glad you got him. :-). You’re so pretty. :-)
Thank you!

what a lovely person you are to put so much effort into rescuing the budgie! I botched a feral cockatiel rescue once and felt bad about my incompetence. I now have some good pointers from you for future bird rescue attempts. Your birdroom is so nice...what a lucky fellow he is to have landed in your yard. Angel wings must have guided him there...
Lucky Lucky budgie! So Happy you saved him!
I love u for catching and saving him 🥰🥰
That’s not saving she is taking hi from the nature
What a wonderful video! I was on the edge of my seat 😄 What an amazing job you did!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 😊
Poor boy. I’m so glad you were able to get him.
How exciting! I was holding my breath lol great information as well thanks
Wow!! Geat job!!! 😁👍❤ Loved this video it was very entertaining and funny that little guy gave you some challenges LOL. He's such a lucky bird you managed to catch him because he would've been in trouble out there especially during winter. Thanks so much for saving him not many people out there would have put in the effort you are awesome!!
Thank you, I am happy he is safe from the dangers outside.
A week ago, my roomate had a mental breakdown, open the cage and releasing all 15 budgies, not a single back came. It's been a painful and traumatic week for me. Please pray for me!
That's sad 😢. I hope you can find them. Don't give up.
Thank you for saving the lost Budgie. I don’t think it would of survived a winter here in Ontario❣️🇨🇦
Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed my videos. Birds seem to know where the bird lovers are and ask for help.

A great method to catch a budgie close by is to have a sheet cover and kind of herd them in to the sheet cover to avoid it biting your or pooing on you. I's also really effective. I caught 3 budgies with this method.
this is amazing! you're amazing! i love this!!!
I am 110% sure the budgie is safe and well care. Thank you for saving him/her ma'am
Soo cute. Looks like mine, Baby Bloo. Video was very informative. Thx
