I worked for a Caribbean 15 years ago and that was the worst and the best experience I ever had. I see that nothing has changed.. By looking at your videos, it gives me a very bad feeling of what I experienced. I’m glad I moved companies so right now I can compare and say how terrible royal Caribbean is… they treat the crew very very bad. Most of the people resigned and never came back.
@@WTFuc4 that’s really sad. I would say that working on a ship is not easy, but it’s so much better than landing a job on the same field/venue elsewhere. And I am not sure if I have worked with you in one of RCI ships but you look familiar. I am happy you found where you exactly want to be.
Hi, thank you for this video! We sailed on the Jewel of the seas in July 2023 and enjoyed it soooo much! Especially our time in the main dining room. Everybody was so nice to us! I am missing it, so it is lovely to see some familiair faces in your video! Luckily we will be able to sail on the Jewel of the seas again in August and hopefully we will meet some of the same dining room staff then. I wish you all the best!
Wooow. That’s very heartwarming. We’re happy we were able to give you a memorable experience. I hope you’ll enjoy your time again with us on August. Thank you for watching🥹

Hello - Another great video. Thanks for sharing. I cruise a lot on Royal and always wonder about the waiter's life on the ship. Glad to see the behind the scenes. You didn't have a date, so, was this during your 2022 contract or on you on Jewel this year? How long are your contracts?
Hi there. Thank you so much for watching. This is my contract on Jewel this year, 2023. You’re right. I forgot to put the date😂 i took all of these videos last July. And our contract length depends on our position in the ship. For us, waiters, we do have 7 months contract.
@@Manaahh hi Manah :) Yes. I still work for Royal Caribbean. I’d recommend you to take at least 1-2 years formal working experience in your chosen field. If you are able to speak major languages like Spanish, French, German, you may want to pursue a career in Guest Services/Front Desk. I used to work in a five star hotel before I applied in this company☺️
I worked in the shops. It s slavery whatever department you apply. Imagine working 6 months without day off. On a see day yoi stat at 8am and finish at 11pm with luncnh and dinner break.
@MelisaFema-sq3xv I’m saddened by your experience but so far, having worked on the ship for 6 years now, I have always acknowledged the good and bad side of it. Overall, it is still worth it for me to work on a cruise ship than working on the same position in my country. It’s all about your goal, perspective in life and calling. If it’s not for you, it doesn’t mean it’s not for everyone as well. I hope you’ll find peace wherever you are right now. As for me, I am more than blessed to be able to see the world for free while saving my income :) I thank God for this job.
What are your working hours? if you are allowed to disclose ofc ☺️ I’m planning to apply for any position in RCCL soon so I’m just gathering information, any help would be appreciated!!
Wow. That’s great! It depends on your position but it would range from 8-10 hours, maximum would be 12 but it’s on rare occasions like day 1 of the cruise or sea days. As I mentioned, it varies depending on what you do onboard. If you want to know more about job applications, visit our official FB page: facebook.com/rcgcareers?mibextid=LQQJ4d

@ChinkyNava hey! Thanks for replying I am more interested in the operations field on cruise.
How is the life of people working in retail in cruise ship, how much do they work?
It’s great! They have one of the best schedule so far so they can get off anytime, anywhere. Mostly they work only afternoon till evening🙂
