I would be upset if my knife didn’t look amazing against a knife 1/10th its price if not less. Benchmade makes good knifes but they can’t compete price wise (or bend wise 😂) with the companies that build in china.
This new series has been really enjoyable, I like that a lot of the early “destruction tests” are leaning towards hard use and not out of the realm of possibility
Excellent test. This content is incredible and honestly something we’ve all wanted for a long time. It would be great to get updates on the warranty process too. Definitely voting to get a strider in there at some point.
Oh man this is the way to go. WE NEED MORE ! Been using and abusing my folders for years, please lets see a SHF and a AD20S. My Zaans lockup is the same as the tested one, still works tho 🤘🏼
_I dropped a Microtech Socom on asphalt tip down and it stuck in the asphalt!😂😂_ _(Perhaps the tarmac was softer that day as it was 80+ degrees outside!)_ _No tip damage!_
You should show what it takes to restore and re-sharpen that, maybe make people more confident using their expensive knives when they know what it take to get them back to new.
Pretty impressive test. I have a Large Sebenza and a small Inkosi, been pretty happy with both, had the large knife for 6 year and the small one for 3, carry at least one of them every week, they've held up extremely well.
I've been carrying my sebenza 31 small every day, all day for over a year And it's been amazing. I do Comercial contracting and I use it everyday. we'll worth the money. I was wearing out axis locks on benchmades to the Point the lock rock gets sketchy every 6 months even with proper maintenance. My sebenza is like the day I got it aside from wear marks on the satin titanium scales
That thing is a beast. How many years ago was this designed? All these years, and the standards are still among the best in the industry. It really speaks for itself. Not to mention the ethos of the company, and willingness to see the product tested to its limits.
Looks like it might be time to durability test some... balisongs/butterfly knives? 😉I think we have quite a few that could use the Best Damn EDC treatment 😜
Ive battoned kindling with a folder many many times- never a problem, but I always do it with the lock already open and only working with small pieces. ZT 0562 framelock with external stops just like the test knife. Id love to own that CR test knife. Just an awesome folder.
I saw a post on a Facebook group once where a dude snapped his blade in half with the story behind how it happened and Tim himself replied to the post asking to trade the snapped blade for a new one to investigate on it😂 absolute legend
I had 2 Zaans and got rid of them. My magnacut tanto version is the one I really miss. You should do a Medford fighter flipper next! Loving these videos brother 💪🏼
This is one of the rare times I come back to a video to comment but : I beg you to do a tungsten blade on this test, like a sandrin knife, we keep hearing it’s brittle but holds edge, I want some experiments on it ! I really hope you’ll see this ! Cheers !
I would love to see a Hinderer video next! Either an 18 3.5 or Eklipse. Would like to see how they stand up against CRK. I love my Sebenza and my Eklipse.
You should make those test uniform. Eg. 50 cuts of rope, hose, cable and twine, ten staples, 30 cuts on cardboard. The same amount of drops on concrete asphalt and tiles. Cut test before testing and after. Than you could rate this on a scale of 3 good ok bad. And you could make something like a wall of fame and present he score in comparison to the others.
@@BestDamnEDCround out the test with AD10 and AD15. All 4. I was thinking yesterday of replacing the "hard use" knife in my truck with an AD10. In the truck now is a Buck 110 that has done every job. Cheers!

While I'd never put my Yo2's through anything like that, I've used them to cut through zip ties and small gauge copper and steel wire. Both the S30V and CruWear have held up very well.
So I used to have a sebenza 31 in s35vn(2021 year) drop point and sold it because I really wanted to eventually get one of their tantos, either an insingo or umnumzaan… I almost jumped on another drop point 31, but decided to keep waiting for a tanto and got a couple microtechs instead. Still happy with myself😅
This definitely has to be one of the First, especially with a C.R. Knife...Well Done! Performed as expected, I'd be curious about the Sebenza, being a little thinner, and I own one myself but probably very close, far as another Brand to try this with, I'd definitely like to see Cold Steel! I was on the edge of my seat! Fun video, but those drop tests were hard to watch haha. You really took one for the team.🫡 My Wilson Combat Star-Tac Umnumzaan is almost a decade old now and still a rocking edc.🤘
Might as well just swing the knife through that sharpness tester. Slow steady pressure over about 3-5 seconds is how long each test should take. You don’t just smash it through the wire. Even dull knives will read “sharp” if you go too fast
I think basically any demko would be a good test, but what I really want to see is a dead reckon ridgeback. DRK also kinda says it’s fixed blade strength so that would be a sick video, plus REC has them in stock right now.
Ooo, I have two of these knives, one is identical to the Tanto blade (it was a gift for my brother), the other is an even older version where a different cap was used on the blade (I have the original key for its permission), both are new and unused.
The pain that the drop made me feel can't be explained. Also, lets see the Microtech MSI next. I own one and have beat it up over and over again and it has impressed me every time.

9:27 Exactly what I say about wharncliffe, sheepsfoot and coldsteel tanto blades. This is their weakness. They force you in so many circumstances to use the exact same piece of your edge. My advice is use razors for long drywall cuts, a dagger for self-defense and a good drop point for everything else.
I never done anything that a folding knife is not suppose too with my small sebenza 31. and over the time (4-5 years only) it develope slight upper blade play because of that ceramic ball... wish I could get warranty but I don't want to loose it 1year loll

I would like CRK knives a lot better if they had any kind of action. I heard they could be made flickable by loosening the pivot, but I tried that! Dead loose and well-oiled, the pivot is still very stiff. I like fidgeting with my knives, therefore, CRK knives are out.
If you polish the washers on a leather strop with diamond compound enough, you can get them to flick open easily. I have a large Sebenza and large Inkosi that both are polished with great action.
This was awesome to watch. As far as the new blade play, the pivot could have just come loose. I’d try tuning it back up with the tools they send you and check again
Should give a cold steel a try and see what results you get. I'd be willing to bet a $100 cold steel will out last most more expensive knives in torture testing. Maybe something like the AD10 or the ultimate hunter or the bush ranger etc.
