I had been waiting for the Hinata videos to start rolling in very excitedly for like more than a week now so thank you for being the first I've seen to help me build this absolutely amazing commander!
I really like that added addendum about the mana base being 75% of the cost! A $130 costing deck is decent enough for me. The spin you took this deck by adding heroic is very fun which I hadn't seen yet. I like it and will be changing my own list!
Awesome! Glad you liked it! Yeah, it sucks that the majority of the price of a multicolored deck can very easily just go to the mana base. This is why I recycle all of my lands and mana rocks between decks. Thanks to that method I have, I never have to buy new (expensive) lands for all my decks. I just need one of each and then have placeholder cards in the actual decks. That has saved me SO much money plus it's made it easier to build new decks.
Hey Kirby! Loving this version of Hinata. I was building a really busted version of it but thought that no one would ever wanna play it after they played at once :-) I do like the heroic build a lot. Wondering why Anax & Cymede is not in your build? Also, Arc Lightning would be choice with Heroic :)
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I didn't add Anax and Cymede because it's only a temporary pump (no +1/+1 counters). I have updated my list since uploading the video, so you could see some changes in the list (added more protection for Hinata because people were targeting it HARD).
Yeah friends and I were talking and Hinata just seemed like no matter how you build it that its just gonna be mean and make the entire table groan and quit. XD
@@EvilM0nkeyRules Yup, because building her synergistically is just gonna have you be able to cast mass X interaction spells for practically free. But at the same time, even if you build some generic URW goodstuff.dec with her at the helm, then it's almost as bad because then you're NOT taking advantage of her.
I guess that math just isn't for blockers anymore! Lol Battlefield Thaumaturge makes some xx spells like Mass Manipulation pretty sweet in this deck too
It definitely isn't! Especially with most of the decks I've showcased recently :P Mass Manipulation is definitely spicy - more so because of that quadruple blue cost in a 3-colored deck. Might have to add Chromatic Lantern for that one as well, lol.
This is a pretty cool deck idea. I stopped playing my Feather deck since people hated it. Hopefully Hinata will not get hated out... Side note, yes you do talk a bit fast. We understand you are working on it, but listening to .75 speed is awkward. Helpful tip, leave a small note where you are recording as a reminder.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Hinata still gets immediate hate, though. Just because people assume you'll be running an optimized deck or a stax one. So make sure you mention to your pod that your Hinata is *NOT* stax and quite casual. The heroic mechanic is not going to break the format anytime soon.
im entirely confused when you were explaing the effect stacking between feather and taigam. Can you please write out a step by step stack resolution? I understand you want taigam to resolve first, but i don't understand where the spell goes throughout the effects.
The effect can't happen simultaneously. So you choose Taigam's to resolve first and then Feather's. Since Taigam's effect exiles the spell for the rebound, Feather's effect essentially fizzles because the spell is already exiled. When the spell is recast for free from exile with rebound, only Feather's effect will trigger because Taigam's wont. So Feather will exile the spell and then it returns to your hand at the end of the turn.
Leonin Iconoclast would be a good card if it 'disenchanted' when it was targeted, but it only destroys enchantment-creatures. i.e. enchantments that are also creatures, and since the best and most common enchantment creatures in the format are indestructible gods Leonin Iconoclast is 99% useless.
Oh damn, you're right! Not only have I been using this wrong since the Theros block but no one I played against caught it either, d'oh! It's fine, I was looking for a cut to put in Chun Li anyways :P
Thanks! Yeah, my speech speed is something I still have to keep working on. I just talk really fast. Good thing YT can be used to slow down videos in the mean time :P
If you have too many spells then you won't have enough creatures to be triggered. You need a balance between cards that trigger and cards that make them trigger.
@@TheCommanderTavern I think it's more likely that you'd want a lot more cards that trigger heroic than the heroic cards themselves. Generally the cards that trigger heroic are mostly good on themselves, while the heroic cards are not.
@@RefaTheGreat True, but play with the deck with the shift happening in one direction more than the other and you'll find yourself either without creatures to trigger or without cards that trigger. Having more creatures is better anyways because you can get swung into very frequently if you don't have any blockers. Since the video I have since updated the deck due to me having built this in real life. You can see the updated version of it here: www.moxfield.com/decks/s_HvXWJBFkyiMoTcgmavfw That's what I'm playing.
@@TheCommanderTavern I can see that for sure, but I think I'd want at least 20-23 to be comfortable. Some of the targeting spells even make creatures which helps the issue (stuff like Magma Opus). The link's not working for me, might be just copied wrong or a permission thing? Cool that you built it IRL though, how's your experience with it so far? My one big fear is that Hinata will get hated out for being the typical Hinata deck.
@@RefaTheGreat The link should work for you now. Whenever I play the deck I *always* make the explanation of "This is NOT a stax deck; it is janky as fuck - it's a heroic deck." Otherwise people're groaning from the get-go. Just let me cook, fam 😆
Unfortunately, I just talk very fast - it's a habit. I can try improving since I do make TH-cam content. Fortunately, in the mean time, you can just slowdown my videos.
This is unique! I bet no one else makes a heroic Hinata deck!
Maybe! I just know that it's a nice way to build around it.

I edited that out of the video. So now you just see the card as a way to exile a permanent instead of multiples. Thanks for catching that!
