If an officer only needs to reach 5.4 on the bleep test then you're happy for officers to have no ability to chase, escape or defend themselves. 5.4 is a below healthy standard of fitness for a 70 year old with good knees.

These are peace officers not police officers. They dont deal with pursuit, only security of wherever they are assigned to. They are only armed with walkies and baton. They are like a more security guards with police privilages.

@@Gary-pe4ce Speical contables are police officers. They have PAVA and an ASP as well as a radio, like any other normal PC. They patrol like any other PC and respond to the same incidents as a PC.

..ok and you were in the navy. These guys were training for peace officers not police officers. They dont have an RDC on their asses at all times.

The Army infantry is more physically demanding and is around 7 so 5.4 is about right for police.
