if I can get it on my Chromebook it's definitely a 1 day purchase for me (if i have the money) even if he doesn't make it mobile I'll enjoy watching game play videos tho it won't be as amazing as if I can play it
I’m so excited for Haunted Chocolatier! I definitely think it will be bigger than Stardew Valley. Just the fact that he’s had so long to work on Stardew/HC, and with all the experience he has, it’s going to be pretty awesome!
I feel like Haunted Chocolatier will be my obsession. I'm not a huge farm sim person, but there was so much else going on in Stardew that it has kept my attention. I liked that there was a lot that was optional. Don't want to cook recipes? No problem, you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I'm PUMPED for a more action-forward game in HC, but still with the chill sim portions for when you don't want to grind :)
Oh 100%! I feel like HC is definitely more action-RPG and you’re right about all of the fun added life sim elements. It’s like the perfect game honestly 🥹 I also didn’t know you didn’t like farm sims that much!! That shocked me for some reason 😂

I'm really excited! One thing that I felt was missing from Stardew Valley was the lack of bosses (not counting Journey of the Prairie King, as I'm no good at arcade games-I can't even pass the first map 😅). It would add a little bit more challenge and excitement. Additionally, the chocolate shop sounds like it will be fun to work with. It's definitely a day one buy for me-Can't wait! And, as ConcernedApe has said, the combat will have a much deeper focus in the game than Stardew had. I really hope it'll be released in winter, as predicted by the community. Great video

I won’t say I’m really a big fan of SV, as sometimes I’d eventually get bored by it. However, the game always has its way to make me pick up where I left it off, just like that. It’s cozy & it’s an immersive experience for me. It allows you to keep things at your own pace. You’ll always have different experience each time you play from scratch. I loved it more than animal crossing as I have a thing for pixelated graphics. Suffice to say, I bought it on my mobile and my switch which says a lot for someone who just said she’s not a big fan of SV. I wouldn’t disagree if someone said HC would surpass SV as I think it WILL be. I would even buy it from day 1 even if I’m not planning to play it seriously. That’s how much I want to support him.

Stardew valley was so good that I made a new Xbox account and I bought it twice on Xbox just to get the game achievements all over again. And I have have now bought Stardew valley for my son ,wife and daughter on their Nintendo Switch.. The Haunted Chocolatier will be on my wish list . Thanks for upload..❤

I have so much backlog and never got started with Stardew Valley... it is definitely one I want to get. Also sounds like Haunted Choclatier we be another one I need to pick up.
Backlogs are soooo hard to catch up on, and I will say stardew valley is one you’ll want to spend A LOT of time on, so definitely play it when you have more time 😎
I played Stardew Valley so long ago, there have been loads of changes in it I believe, but since I got it on Switch, I'm not sure if it got as expanded there than on Steam. At the very least there aren't all the mods you can find on Steam. So, even if I'm tempted to get HC on Switch, I think the Steam version would be the safer bet for updates and mods... Especially if it runs on the deck... Either way, I'm pretty sure it'll be at least as well received as SV, though perhaps not directly at launch, but on the long term, because I think that many casual gamers got it, loved it, but might not necessarily actively keep track of game news or the dev's projects, and would just stumble upon it at some point. But I'm pretty sure he'll nonetheless be rewarded for his hard work at launch! Thanks for this new video!
Honestly I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it - I totally forgot about not being able to get mods on the switch 😂 now I’m debating on what to buy HC on, oh no haha. I don’t have a steam deck but I may have to purchase one ASAP when HC comes out, especially since you can use mods on the steam deck! If you haven’t played for awhile, you haven’t experienced 1.5 most likely! That was a huge update that was so so good. I definitely think the game will be bigger! The amount of free coverage the game is going to get with TH-camrs having playthroughs is going to he insane! Haunted chocolatier also probably has a lot more content than stardew so that definitely helps. The modding community is going to have a blast 😂

Stardew hit viral success, that is difficult as heck to pull off and replicating that isn't guaranteed. If Haunted Chocolatier takes the world by storm and news outlets, twitter, facebook, youtube, and all the other forms of media are preaching it then it has a strong chance to match and even exceed Stardew thanks to the strong reputation. If it cannot reach that level of buzz, then matching 20 million stardew sales is a steep hill to climb. Those sales are close to entering lists of "best selling games ever" which honestly means that just matching sales would be impressive, let alone the achievement of exceeding it.

hmmmm. i definitely hope it is, but I don’t think it will be. The premise sounds so much more exciting for me and it’s right up my alley and I know me and a lot of others will enjoy it way more than stardew. i think it could be better and higher quality. unfortunately that doesn’t translate directly into popularity. stardew hit a very specific sweet spot and its popularity was influenced by the other already established games in the genre. I think HC will have a more loyal and enthusiastic player base and it will certainly be popular, but will not surpass SV. more of a cult favorite

Personally, i'm sure it'll do really well and lots of people will buy it, but I don't think it'll be as popular as Stardew. Stardew has so many different activities for you to do, and so many ways to decorate and customize your farm. Haunted Choclatier doesn't seem to have such customization. You seem be able to customize the shop to an extent, but nothing on the scope and scale of your farm. CA also said this game is primarily about combat, so you'll spend most of your time fighting enemies to gather ingredients. That already makes the game much less laid back and relaxed than Stardew, because a lot of Stardew players don't actually enjoy the combat or engage with it beyond what they need to, a lot of folks just like to peacefully manage their farm. A game that is more combat oriented will be a turnoff for a lot of folks. I'm sure it'll be well loved and popular, but I feel like it won't have the huge dedicated fanbase stardew has. But I guess we'll see.
I love this! Tons of good points here. The combat is what scares me the most about a lot of people enjoying it - that’s definitely a turn off for a lot of people like you said, especially in the “cozy” community! It’s been so long since we’ve gotten any new interviews or information, so I’m excited to see how the game has progressed and everything that we’ll be able to do
