The signal from the box is not powerful enough to be placed under back seat. If u read the instructions you would have seen that it needs to be mounted in dash glove box area. I own 2 i3 cars both have this model install as instructions say and work great. Wife and I use them every day.
@@entropy5431 it a "man in the middle" carplay/android auto device. it can take over the screen and wireless or wired display carplay/android auto on the center screen. also can wireless or wired connect the audio threw the car's speaker system.
I was disappointed you couldn't get it working as I have been looking at one for my I3. There are dozens of installation videos, some successful under under the back seat some not. What I would like too see a video walk through of how it actually operates and all its functions.
I have this in my i3. You need to install it under the glove box. The ppl that say it works usally have an aftermarket larger screen or the smaller screen.
You need to install it in the glove box. Only on i3’s with small units you can install under the seat. You have to actually run the cable from the back to the glove box.
Good afternoon, I just watched your video, and I had the same problem that you have encountered. I suppose you've already found a solution, but just in case I'll tell you how it worked for me. The module must go under the glove compartment, so that the original "long" cable goes to the module (IN), and the new "short" cable goes from the module (OUT) to the screen. The only explanation I found is that somehow the new (short) cable is not exactly the same as the original (long), perhaps it is not of such good quality, or that the module does not emit the signal with enough power, to that the signal arrives correctly through the long cable to the monitor. And I'm not the only one this has happened to. It really matters (although it is hard to understand), that the module is installed near the screen. th-cam.com/video/N0qqVHamrfk/w-d-xo.html
Have you tried playing with the dip switch settings to match your display screen size?

thanks for this helpful video. do you know if i can add a reversing camera to this box If so is there a camera you would recommend.
I do not like reversing camera's. But don't think you can add one to this device
A random question: what floor mats are they? Been looking for ages for some decent all-weather mats and yours look good. Any advice appreciated.
Weathertech. only made in LHD so had to cut fronts and swap around

The Can power cable on this version are to short to reach from backseat to glowebox.

No. I have the big screen and it works from under the seat. But I use different aftermarket box. How's your dip switch set?
I also had this problem with the road top under the seat. But installing it under/next to the glove box got it working
@@mariuslaspaas Would you mind sharing with us which one you have?
