Wooo hoooo! I'm first to comment ! You, dear friend couldn't make a boring video if you tried. Your videos are fun, beautiful, colorful, happy, informative, inspiring, peaceful, calming, loving and loved by us all. I look forward to them very much. You and Googie give joy to this world. Thank you from little me here in the US. Please tell Googie how much she is loved around the world. xx
TOP TIP … put a magazine in the trouser leg … ( folded in half if a skinny leg 🥴😂) that way you cant accidentally sow the patch to the back …ie sowing your legs together😂
Loving the patch so unique 🪡🧵You reminded me of peg dolls…yes I remember making them as a child and have made them at work with adults with learning disabilities. Such fun with scraps of fabric. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
A patch and a flower garden have so much in “common” - colorful, useful, sustainable, creative, pleasing, handy, flexible, universal, ornamental, planned, handmade, beneficial, diverse..…to name a few.
Ooooh perfect rip for Sashiko. It’s rustic, timeless, sturdy and beautiful stitching. That is a very strong way of repairing clothing, especially denim. 💕my mom is from England and used to garden and was an artist in oils. Then she quilted and now she hand sews beautiful cross stitch samplers. Love your moms patches and her garden and garden house. What talents you both have. Love from 🇺🇸
That looks fabulous! It looks so good that it might be worth ripping my jeans deliberately, lol. Your mum could make some extra money by selling her little patchwork squares- I am sure people would buy them to add to plain clothes to make them something special! Thanks for sharing, and beautiful work Googie x
A fabulous way to patch a patch with a patchwork patch. Your granny taught you well. I used to patch and then embroider mine as a student. Happy days! Thanks
Your patching of the patch that Googie made for your ripped jeans that needed a patch is absolutely amazing and the end result is gorgeous! Most excellent work on this colorful patch and I don’t know how you ever did it without a sewing machine!!! Frame these jeans for your studio when they are all patched up whenever that might be.
Both my sons buy jeans with rips already in and it drives me bonkers them paying good money for what looks like rags ,, oh my word, I love your patches and getting a few more years wear out of them is just fab 👏👏👏
Delightful! Brought back memories of my mom teaching me to patch denim jeans over sixty years ago. My patches were supposed to be ‘invisible’ . . . . Your patching style is much more fun.
Well that was a throwaway line if ever there was one - “used to work for American Vogue”. I love it!!!! And I love Googie’s patch and your application with the stripped fabric - definitely an eye for design, but then we see that in your flowers.
Oh my days 'American vogue' now you not only thrill us with your fantastic gardening skills but you have us all intrigued with your earlier life and career choices! Please do tell all we would love to know!! The patch and jeans look great and well done to Googie for her wonderful quilted blankets that she so kindly donates, once again a fabulous video xx
Love this! My grandmother and my mom were both excellent seamstresses and taught me well, as well as having long days in the garden. So much love sent from Dallas, Texas again!
We have in Australia so many organisations that make quilts for children in foster care, Hope in a suitcase, My very own blanket and many more. My girl friend makes Beenies (hats) for adults and children who were bush fire victims. So thoughtful of Googie to make those quilts for children, there are good people in this world. You are a laugh Georgie Gucci will be jealous of your designer jeans.
I really approve of your visible mending. I’ve been needing my husband’s jeans too. If you had a machine, you could zigzag the torn piece onto the backing and that would make it very strong.
I try do one thing at a time I hope I do it right ..I love sewing too I see bears, patchwork sewing / gardening are good for the soul. My scarp box is called my cabbage box. 😊
Oh fun, this is what I do with my torn jeans….then I keep going ! I do it all by hand too, I wind up with pairs of jeans that are covered in patchwork. 🤭
Worked in the fashion/editorial industry, author of multiple well-received books, owner/creator of a unique and successful business with ethical philosophy and a nature-focused design style, creative and witty - the type of person you can only hope to find seated beside you at a dinner party!

Would love more anecdotes of your past life as you work, most entertaining.

Oh I love that patching. I have jeans in my wardrobe I can't wear due to rips, so I'm definitely going to do that. Thankyou so much for this xx

hello Dallas xxx
Love the outfit, especially the boots. My Mother is 88 years young. She crochets dish rags which are wonderful! Have a great day!
I love a knitted dishcloth - so useful! x
My arthritic fingers can’t sew anymore, but I do love what you and Googie can do with a needle. I used to love needlepointing from graphs.
I love sewing but often hands too dirty x
Very well done... you've made me smile when I've
felt hideous and grumpy all day ❤

You don't have a sewing machine? What a shame. Do pick up a second hand one, they are essential kit for civilized humanity. 💖🥰
true! x
I am giggling thinking of any poor watchers whose 1st language isn't English trying to untangle the patch discussion.
lol - it's such a good word xxx
