I'm terrified and I don't live in the States anymore. But all my friends and family do. The United States is my country of origin. I don't want to see it destroyed. I've been terrified since 3 O'clock in the morning in 2015 when the NYT announced that he would win. He and his mad as Hatters supporters are the worst thing to happen in the country since the assassinations we lived through in the 60's along with the horrors of Vietnam.
Since the uncovering of the crimes committed by trump during his years in the WH, there have been constant comparisons to Watergate. At this point, Watergate is the farthest thing from my mind. There was never a chance of Nixon returning to the WH as there is with this sociopath and the Fascist administration he's already put together.
Hearings such as these are common, they're just not called Sandoval Hearings outside of NY. Each state has its own name for them.

I think the court has a pretty tight/full schedule as it is, and I presume the lawyers for both sides have to prepare arguments. So they schedule it as soon as logistically feasible.
