#36 The Best Caravan for Living FULL TIME on campsite? Fendt 700: Van Tour + Pros and Cons.

- Living in a touring caravan full time can be challenging. If you're looking for the best caravan for living full time, Fendt 700 might be the right choice. In this video I will show you our new to us caravan, and give you a quick evaluation. Fendt 700 le vogue meets our non negotiables for our full time caravanning: it is much bigger, the shipping length is 8,9m and it weighs 2 tonnes. In the world of caravanning in the UK a Fendt caravan is often associated with Gypsies and Travellers, as they usually choose it as their van for full time caravanning and sadly, many campsites in the UK do not allow these vans on their premises. So apart from the size and weight, this van may be a challenge when touring (think fuel usage and a driving licence), but it seems ideal for a seasonal pitch and as a stationary home. In my van tour I am taking you inside, so get ready for an inside vantour of Fendt 700. As I said earlier, it meets our non negotiables: an island bed, side dinette for the dog and generally open space in the lounge, so either L or U shape. It is a rare caravan and it attracts interest. I hope that my caravanning advice will be useful to you, I am simply sharing my experiences and not selling the van. Other models would suit us too: LMC or Hobby. We honestly did not expect to get something as new as we did. We've been living in this van for a few weeks, and only then we discovered other benefits of this particular model, like privacy windows, which look black from the outside, you can see through the windows, but people can't see you from the outside. We also got removable covers for sofas, and fitted carpets, as the previous owners had dogs too, for us it is not a problem, perhaps it could be for others. The previous owners also added tasteful curtains which made lovely additions. We also have lovely LED lights. To our surprise, Diesel does not want to lie on a single sofa in a dinette, so we use this area as a dinette and use a small table for eating or working. The original lounge table would be too big for us.
My caravan tips would not be complete without a few words of warning, as Fendt 700 le vogue has some features which could be problematic, especially for the families. As the king size bed takes most of the inner space, both the kitchen and bathroom are rather small. There is no separate shower cubicle, this is not a problem for us as we use showers on the camping site where we live and work. Also, there is really now way to install a TV in a bedroom. I wonder how many Fendts there are among the members of camping and caravanning club, who go camping and caravanning in this van in the UK. I hope you will enjoy this video, especially if you are new to caravanning, and decide on how to choose the most suitable caravan for your caravan life. it was a pleasure to watch this caravan tour, thank you Kate for such wholesome review. For me this beast is almost perfect, but the kitchen space seems to be small. I would sacrifice some sleeping space or half of the lounge area for more space in the kitchen

Hi Claire, it really is! We spent over a year researching different caravans and layouts, and this was our ideal, all boxes ticked model! We were ready to buy it from as far as Scotland, becuase that's where a big trader is based... only to find our perfect van in Devon! It was right in the middle of high season on a campsite and to this day I can't believe we managed to buy it, move into it and sell the old van within two weeks. We love living in it and don't miss living in brick and mortar at all. It is perfect on a seasonal pitch, touring may be a bit harder (length, width, weight). Have you got a caravan? K

We actually thought about removing it to fit larger wine bottles, but we've found that it's useful for storing other items like glasses and mugs. Lovely Van . Always compromises with designs . Do wish we had a side table. We only have a wee pull out which is not ideal for lap top work . But love other things that work for us .
Would buy used van if they had dogs but no way smokers !

Hi Cath :-) Thank you! We are absolutely thrilled with the caravan, and still have 'pinch me' moments. Yeah, a side table is lovely, but we still have our small wooden foldable tables from B&M. They are perfect for laptops, however there is not much wrist space... so I would say they are good for shorter, leisure sessions, not for work. They fold flat and are lightweight, but still robust. /K
Hi hope don't mind me asking was you able to get insurance cover ok as when we looked at a hobby caravan fore seasonal pitch we couldn't get insurance and the site we are on we have to give insurance details policy to once a year many thanks andy

For tv in bedroom could you use projector and white roller blind? Would this be easier to fit and live with?

Nous recherchons ce modèle exact de caravane depuis plus d'un an. Nous avons vu quelques autres fabricants de caravanes avec un agencement similaire ou identique, mais nous trouvons que les caravanes allemandes sont construites avec une bien meilleure qualité que les autres.
We've been looking for this exact caravan layout for over a year. We've seen a few other caravan manufacturers with a similar or the same layout, but we find that German caravans are built to a much better quality than the others.

Hi, pitch is included for the duration of our seasonal campsite job, usually we are away for 3 months in winter. 👍
