Between Finchley Road and Baker Street, there are actually three disused stations. At 35:05, you can see the abandoned platform of Swiss Cottage. At 36:08, look closely for a very short platform on the left. That's what's left of Marlborough Road. And finally, at 37:08, just before the tunnel, there's the abandoned platforms at Lord's.
@@TheLewistownTrainspotter8102 Though only Swiss Cottage and St John’s Wood (Lords) was replaced. Marlborough Road was very close to St John’s Wood I think.

Nice to be out in Metroland. Like another viewer said, station stops should be sub-titled. Can't figure out the signalling system though - sometimes there are loads of signals in quick succession on plain line, then nothing for a long time. And is there the equivalent of AWS on LU trains?
I'm not sure if it's been implemented yet but the jubilee was meant to be having ETCS fitted for testing, however due to the Neutral rail it's almost impossible to fit track mounted TP.
Really nice video. Thanks. The station list was a HUGE help. The 13 minute gap threw me, but also gave me time to find what you were up to. Did you stop at a station that wasn’t on the list. Fine driving, by the way.
Great dialogue. I don't think a lot of drivers would have been so explicit. Where overground and underground trains share the same track does one have right of way over the other?
because from baker street to liverpool street it shares the tracks with the circle and hammersmith and city lines, so theres way more train traffic in this section.
@@paulfuray8557, in the Deep Tube tunnels at that same station before the tunnel and the line changed ownership from TfL to National Rail (Later Network SouthEast; now GreatNorthern) in ‘75. That was a horrible crash.
I'm not sure, it might involve emailing LU Customer Service and taking it from there or if you happen to know a tube driver ask them. I've heard it can be difficult to get permission to go because of 'elf and safety or security reasons (which is understandable I guess).
The driver is moaning about his job, but he’s on about £55,000 a year an can increase that to about seventy grand with little extra effort. All in a semi-skilled job.
Old Man firstly, it’s an Englishman’s right to moan lol, secondly, drivers CANNOT earn anything over their ‘salaried’ wage, as overtime isn’t allowed, unless the service is running late for whatever reason. As for me, a driver, who worked on old Westinghouse stock and passed out on it, it’s not a semi skilled job, it’s a skilled job, period, plus my level of service since ‘85, I’ve earned that £55k mate. You must be a Tory voter. Clear it for you any?
Captain Blackbeard. My voting record is irrelevant. Train drivers earn a lot more than most skilled or unskilled workers. And as for the 70,000 I’ve read that it is perfectly possible. It’s to do with extra shifts etc.
Old Man extra shifts? Where the hell from? I suggest you do more research fella, your intel wherever you get it from is wrong, probably outdated hack news from the Standard, who’s had it in for train operators since as long as can remember. We have a set 5 day working week, no overtime, we’re salaried, Saturdays, Sundays and weekdays are all the same pay, and we work MORE weekends than ever before, pre Company Plan that is, and don’t get any extra for this, oh, I forgot to mention, working every bank holiday aswell, as long as it doesn’t fall on a rest day. So with that said, since I was a driver, that’s 35 years ago now till date, I should actually be on more than £55k if you take into account we used to get paid 12 hours for a Saturday, and 16 for a Sunday. Its a normal London salary considering my personal time in the company, I’ve earnt that pay.
Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Rayners Lane, etc, places of great nostalgic importance to me, now just a foreign country and totally alien. Meanwhile, the BBC is spending hours going on about some bloke I’ve never heard of who has died in America. All because he’s black. God, I hate this country.

Love yer Vidz~ I only wish you would announce the stations, and explain the junctions.for those outside of England who love the Tube~
Have a bit of love for the Metropolitan line. Miss the old A Stock though :-/
+SmashBrosGuys2933 there only 2 A stocks left on the Metropolitan Line they are still at Neasden depot
Yeah, but they're not actively running regularly.
+SmashBrosGuys2933 well its nice to see one of them when you pass Neasden depot it will be the 8 car unit you will see as passing the depot
+SmashBrosGuys2933 some I have bit of love for the Metropolitan Line as well is the best line in my Opinion
Been on the Metropolitan line a number of times. Busiest stations are at Baker Street, Kings Cross St Pancras and Liverpool Street.
Very good video, travelled between Liverpool Street and Wembley quite a bit. Nice to see it from a drivers perspective.
Glad you enjoyed it

Excellent video. The question is... will TSW 2 team can make a project of that route in 29 stations between aldgate & uxbridge or walford?
There is the just Trains metropolitan line 34 stations on the Met Line
Why are both classed of the S stock used for the Uxbridge branch, whereas only the S8 classes are used to Amersham and Chesham please?.

Is this a semi-fast train?
Why are there so many signals towards the end of the line?
Entering Moorgate it looks like they are spaced closer than the length of a train.
because from baker street to liverpool street it shares the tracks with the circle and hammersmith and city lines, so theres way more train traffic in this section.
I believe there was a underground train crash at Moorgate In the mid 70’s, could explain the many signals, but I’m only guessing.

MIND THE DOORS
Nice video👌🏼. How long have you been driving metropolitan line trains? Do you prefer the S or the old A stock?
S8 Stock
awesome vid thank you
Whats with the middle rail
That is the -210 v DC negative rail...they use 4th rail to avoid return current travelling through running rails. The outside rail is +420 v DC.
How does one do this?! cab ride?

Why are there 2 drivers in one cab? Is it a common thing?

I am surprised at how rundown and derelict UK rail infrastructure appears to be. It looks more like a rail construction yard than a working line.
