The soldier who died with an unburned face while reading the New Testament....what a story....what memories this man has had to carry for a lifetime. An exceptional story, a lifetime of philosophical reflection, this soldier has lived a spiritual life. A strong man. He talks about the girlfriend who had given him St John's Gospel. He spared a young VC. That this man was sent into such a predicament is like a parable.
Grateful to Mr Larry Capetto for bringing us Sgt. Tucker and his inspiring story.

I never saw any active services in my 16 years with the British forces 74 to 91, I to, kept a small note book with the platoons names, I’ve only it electronically now. I consider myself very lucky. Many of my old team saw service in, Bosnia, Afghanistan. We still meet each year on 11th Nov, but we are fewer and fewer each year. God bless you Tucker.

    I watch every evening almost.
Easy to listen to and rest my head.
I didn't think about it for about a month or 2 but these are some pretty horrendous details in some of these videos. But I didn't even realize
It's easy and soft to listen to these stories before bed especially that there is no interruption or commercials.
    God bless us all
And great respect to the men and women that went through hell for us all.
It's easy to rest my head every evening thanks to all those brave souls

Had ya landed here at tri-state airport in WV, you'd had 20-30 teens & tweens BEGGIN YA to "talk about it". Spent ALOTTA time there watchin troops deplane screamin "Gladja made it home!!!" Most here supported the 1954 treaty we had with the south. 😎 Hell yeah! ALOTTA GOOD came outta the Vietnam war. For one thing, you guys kept Charlie's head down OVER HERE as well. We woulda been the USSA LONG AGO had it not been for your blood bought sacrifices, fulfillin KHRUSHCHEVS prophetic words in the late 50s. Ya gotta always remember too that HALF (prolly OVER half now) of the ppl on our soil ARE PRO COMMUNIST. Always have been , always will be. I didnt hear ya mention it Larry, but is Lawrence still with us? Yeah, thank ya for sharin with us brother, its MUCH appreciated ! I hope after some time processin this interview, ya realize what a benifit your sharing was to WE , the listeners as well, for years to come!

Thank you for your service. God bless you sir! Mr. Tucker I’m glad you were able to get help for your ptsd. I have it myself and I struggle. My service dog is having surgery next week and I’m struggling because I will be without her in public for 3 months. So my ptsd has relapsed because I rely on my dog to function in public. I have been with my service dog for 8 years. Without her I deal with panic attacks because I’m constantly scanning for threats and on high alert. I deal with severe panic attacks and anxiety problems without her. My service dog is the best thing that ever happened to me. She becomes my eyes and ears allowing me to calm down. She walks point for me and watches ahead so I don’t get startled by people in blind spots. She helps to keep me calm and ground me back to the here and now when I go through episodes. Sgt. Tucker God bless you and keep you safe!😊

Thanks for sharing … I feel we can share our feelings and experiences…
    1st Cavalry A Co 2nd/8th … 4th weapons platoon … I arrived on/about Dec 20 th 1967 …
Just after Dak To … they only kept 9 of us in the weapons platoon with the 81 mm mortar and stuck a radio on my back… you learn quick when every third night you were on the mortar with three guys, you were on a perimeter position, or you went out on an ambush or LP every third night. I survived Pre TET in that Bong Dong area the Vietcong and NVA ran amok … after TET we flew over HUE up to Quang Tri and cut the NVA off escaping out of the back door of Hue. Then we worked those foothills outside of Khe Shan …Then we went into the A Shau Valley for 35 days.. We went in with 155 and came out with 105 with four KIA’s . The back to Quang Tri Province. Then they moved the entire 1st Cavalry Division down to the Parrots Beak next to Cambodia… I turned 21 in May of 1968 and was a leader by then…
I’d worked my way up to being the squad leader in charge of the 81mm mortar… Well when they moved us south they came up with an Echo Company and put me in charge… I had six … 6 man 81 mm mortar squads and a 20+ man recon platoon that they put me in charge of … being a draftee all I wanted to do is go back home and finish school … by then I’d turned 21 and the army tried to give me E-6 if I’d extend and take the early out … but I’d had enough … I never wrote any of those great guys to see if they made it home or not … like you I’ve only been able to talk about the goings on with guys like you …
Lots of memories… pleased to meet your acquaintance…
