Of all the SeaWorld parks, San Antonio has the most potential just because of space still. Over the last couple of years, it has gotten solid additions like Texas Stingray and Tidal Surge. The jury is still out on Catapult Falls until it opens. However amongst all the potential, it also has the cruelest ride in Steel Eel. Because any weekday the park is open, the trains of Steel Eel past by Robert Vale Middle School reminding the students that there is an amusement park right across the street.
@@Britishairwaysfan The good news is that SeaWord San Antonio has a Batman clone already in Great White which is also the oldest roller coaster in the chain. From a rolllercoaster perspective, the park has an odd collection- Morgan Steel MiniHypercoaster, Intamin Family Coaster, B&M Invert, GCI Woodie, and Mack Water Coaster. There is a lot of space to build things, and anyone's guess is good for the park. Though I'd probably go for something that would be a crowd pleasure more than anything. With the rise of Neo Six Flags under Cedar Fair and COTAland finally getting off the ground, there is going to be a lot of capital build up in the Austin/San Antonio area, so I expect something big after Catapult Falls to be announced at SeaWorld San Antonio. And then it will be a Premier Sky Rocket II just to make any analysis totally pointless.
In all seriousness, this park has the most potential for growth outside the Florida market, and it seems they could easily use one more headline attraction to attract more visitors.
@@ItsSiebay That's exactly the issue. There is still a lot empty space at the park without taking anything out as well. So a couple more rides would probably help make the park better.
I can explain why the entrance is so anticlimactic because I went there many times as a kid over 30 years ago. The reason is because the entrance used to be that giant arch before the plaza and fountain. They moved it further in the park. I am not sure why, probably to accommodate an aquatica entrance. You can actually go to discovery point without a ticket. Other fun facts, if you look at your shot at 2:55 from the top of the Steel Eel, that is a middle school right across the street from the roller coaster, their mascot, the Stingrays. We live ten minutes from Sea World San Antonio so I got to ride Catapult Falls. My 5 and 7 year old loved it. It’s short and wet with a vertical lift and a fun launch.
I can relate with your take on Texas Stingray lol! I live in San Antonio and visit SeaWorld often, and ride Texas Stingray a lot on off days and whether it's day or night, I'm flung all over my seat and man that airtime is amazing! Definitely top 10 in my opinion.
I went in the one in Orlando florida it was so much fun i remember last time i was there was like 17 or 18 years ago looking forward going back there one day
Steel eel give me different experience between the front and the back. The front is pretty chilling and fun. The back is like more chaos with heavy airtime and yes it slammed back down lol
Texas stingray I think I got it right… It’s most compatible to wickerman same pacing and similar layout I’ve ridden both I do like wickerman more but yeah. Great hidden gem!
I love Steel Eel and I think it’s one of the most underrated coasters I’ve ridden, but man, do those seats need some padding. My tailbone can only take so much
little fun fact for yall from an employee, catapult falls finshed construction back around like october. it's just sitting there doing nothing, ive walked past it a couple of times. they havent opened it because its "off-season"
Me as an enthusiast - cool view of the scream n swing across the lake Me as an Aviation enthusiast - holy crap there's a C5 flying above the scream n swing I swear this is at least the third video of your's that I've paused because of something related to military Aviation 🤣
btw you dont have to carry your items with you all day. you can ask the cashier people to send them to the front to hold for you and at the end of the day you can pick up your items at the front of the park. and at any time you can go to the front and ask for your items and take them to your car and enter back into the park, theres also lockers at the kids playground at the splashpad with the ship
I vaguely remember my visit to this park, it was 2005 and I’d just graduated bmt. Might of gone on a ride or two but I was so damn sleep deprived from 6 weeks of basic that I can’t remember much lol. I’ve gained weight since and likely wouldn’t fit on the rides I did back then
Impressive lighting on the trees. Thanks for sharing the experience at sea world. I can’t wait to ride stingray when I visit. My favorite rides are the out of control wooden coasters, so it sounds perfect.
Texas Stingray is amazing. Always wondered why it didn't really get the best of reviews. Also, cute backstory about texting Sarah when she sat at that table. I sat at the table next over eating a massive funnel cake when I was there lol. Really enjoyed this park.
Fun fact the Christmas music playing at the end of the video outside of the park was done by IMAscore. They have an amazing Christmas album called Wonderful Christmas.
Sea world has come a long way I had a season pass the first year it opened. Was free parking and rio loco was the only ride in the park. Used to be all about the shows and animal interactions.
Jealous! I can't wait to check out some more GCIs, American Thunder at my home park is the only one I've gotten a chance to ride, and it's my favorite ride at the park. I gotta imagine a large-scale one is going to be even better.
Gotta say, having been there I can say SWSA has made smart choices so far for a park with a small coaster collection. Wave Breaker is a fun little family ride with a great setting, you can't go wrong with a Batman clone (The Great White), Steel Eel has the kind of airtime that should be illegal, and Texas Stingray is one of the best coasters in a coaster-heavy state.
Steel Eel is very painful. The airtime is quite good but I agree with Sarah that you have to physically brace yourself for the valleys and that hurts the ability to enjoy the airtime. I've never been bothered by the restraints on Skyrush but Steel Eel does to your butt what most people say Skyrush does to your thighs.
That parks lights for there christmas event looks sweet by the way seaworld orlando was the most packed i ever seen last sunday pipeline was alot more intense than i expected😊
Awesome glad y’all enjoyed the park and stingray! It’s my home park so it was awesome to see this vlog! Also GO COWBOYS! Eagles going to lose this Sunday and I’ll be there! :)🎉
Those trains were Lionel trains, the gold standard of model trains. They appear to be modern models, though I prefer the postwar era (1950s-60s), which is Lionel’s golden era.
"this ride has such a funny plaza to me because its just a bunch of trees taking up the whole area". us texans thats been battling the sun in a staring contest in 110 F degrees: ya pretty funny, come step out the shade real quick.
Normally the buffet is Rositas Pizza buffet. It was pretty good when we went during early Nov. I will say we did not have a great experience. Texas Stingray may be the most underrated coaster I've ever been on but other than that we were not a fan of the rest of the rides. On top of that we had some of the rudest ride operators weve ever had.
I will say operations were probably the biggest downside from our visit, seemed like many ride ops could've used a little sense of urgency. Very lackadaisical.
Hi Taylor and Sarah! You guys should think about a trip to Universal Japan. They have a new roller coaster based on the Nintendo game Donkey Kong. The cars look like mine carts, and you "jump" from track to track like you do in the game. And Taylor, I am totally with you having pineapple on pizza! That is the best! 😊
