I'd guess this is from 1972 based on him mentioning his recent first movie as director (Play Misty for Me) released in '71. Very cool, thanks for posting.
@@TheQuirkyCharacter Yeah, he seems to be promoting "Play Misty for Me," which would place this interview from the fall of 1971. He had shot "Dirty Harry" in the spring and early summer of that year, and it would hit theaters around Christmas.
He was already hugely successful at this point, commanding very large salaries for major roles. You can sense that he felt he could really pick and choose his projects, and also explore all aspects of film making. He was very wise with his money. Not bad for as former life guard from Oakland... He was smart to model his directing technique on Don Siegel's. Siegel made crisp films, under budget and under schedule for the most part. He could take a low budget film like Invasion of the Body Snatchers and create a masterpiece.
The irony is that Eastwood would both direct and act in the same film for decades.
You are an absoluite star for uploading these interviews with Clint, thank you a thousand times over!

Thank you!
But Dirty Harry has not been released, apparently. He only mentions having completed it recently.

He was truly a beautiful looking male specimen 😊. Also talented and respectful of the interviewer. To bad we sll get old😢
You can't call Clint old, just can't. He will never be old. He can play an old guy, but be. . . Nope. Never.
This guy does an amazing impression , in years to come, of a future comedian called jim carrey, its uncanny.
‘’Tremendous technological advances ‘’…… 1972 ….. if only the interviewer knew what that would be 50 plus years from this interview.
True

Sergio Leone "might have" had some influence on Eastwood as well !!!
@@thecuss6817 YES!!! I was remiss not to mention Sergio.
