Hey, Animalogic. Awesome coverage of a beloved creature, yet again! As well, I'm very intrigued by who the composer for the video intro music might be. I'm an orchestrator and the score/backing track caught my ear! 💞
Audio Network is a website for music for TV, Ads, etc. I think many NatGeo shows uses track from there, for example. In the description, the "Glitz" one is indeed the intro music, and from searching (my prior comment here is deleted because of the link maybe), the composer is Ray Davies.
When i was a wee ladsie, I had a Caracal fascination, and would watch the episode of Wild Kratts featuring them constantly because caracals are cool. When the floppa meme came out, I was naturally overjoyed, and leapt for joy.
What a beautiful cat. I can understand the appeal of owning this exotic animal, but I wouldn't dare attempt it, myself. It's just too wild and majestic to force into domestication. Also, I'm pretty sure one could kill me if it wanted to badly enough.
Honestly imo, they’re one of the most reasonable exotic cats to own, that or servals. Fun fact: When Egyptians mentioned owning and worshiping cats, they were actually talking about caracals :)
Ive never heard it anywhere but i believe their ear tufts are also the way they are to hear other caracals meows. That their meows are special to be quiet yet loud to other caracals because they can pick it up with their ear tufts

Honestly, I think Caracals are one of the most beautiful wild cats on Earth. I wonder what their temperament is, can they be tamed. If it wasn't for the ears, they'd look like miniature mountain lions.
Clearly, the majority of the cats in the film were in some sort of captive arrangement and were being fed live birds (guineafowl) with their flight ability disabled (the uniform trimming of flight feathers is obvious). In some clips, the live birds were clearly being thrown directly at the cats for them to kill. I feel like this needs some sort of explanation. If these cats were filmed as part of a wild release program, there might be some argument for introducing live prey......but to me, this footage was gratuitous in showing five instances of deliberately disabled birds being fed to the captive cats.
The live guineafowl it caught also was likely domestic with clipped wings. Wild ones can take off in an instant, but can only fly a short distance. (Caracals can still catch them though.) Still a nice showcase of the caracal.
Trust me Danielle, if you come close to one of these whilst caged (we trap them for relocation away from livestock) 'floppy' is the absolute last impression you will have. More like a vicious, spitting agent if evil! That said a young Caracal once rubbed up against my leg when we encountered each other - very rare!
