I'm 52 and I'm right there with you. I have a family and my kids are all over the age of 18 with 3 of them still at home plus the wife doesn't work. I love my family but things are not changing and it's like they know things need changing but instead the blame each other and don't want to change things. Biggest problem in one word? ADDICTION.

In a nutshell F'ed over from an O-3 to an O-5. Otherwise I miss being in the Army but when I retired about 4 years ago I knew I was getting old and not flexible enough for things too much more. So I just said it's time to retire.

I wanted to add that when I lived in Idaho, I heard a number of homeless tell me its illegal to be homeless. They'd try to hide at night and sleep during the day by looking like they're reading a book or whatever. I met several who were NOT addicted to anything. They'd ask for money so they could stay warm at places like McDonald's who have discrete rules that you can only stay there as long as you're ordering within each 30 minutes! That's probably changed stricter since rents went up. The home I used to live in now costs more than the two of our income combined! How are folks doing it! I REALLY need to know. My husband is back on hospice again.

So for me it's your laugh, it's totally contagious. I also really think that people totally appreciate a person who can go against the norms of society and be successful with their goals. People are tired of going along with societal norms yet getting nowhere. I think people are beginning to realize the lies that media feeds them and are starting to realize there are other ways to live life on your own terms. I wish folks would start raising a new generation of children that are - not spoiled, not given everything they never had as a child, raised as thinkers who are not indoctrinated into what our parents beliefs are, allowed to take a different path in life. Because you Anthony are proof that material items and social norms are not necessary in order to be healthy and happy and folks are drawn to you for that.

The first thing I realized when I quit traditional work was. I had to tell myself to slow down doing simple things like walking my dogs or going to to the store. I would literally catch myself telling myself self to slow down. Traditional work makes you rush through life without you realizing it until you dont have to anymore. Just now starting the video, if you really quit your job, good for you!!!! There is So much freedom with TH-cam, you can film anywhere. TH-cam is work! Filming and editing is work! Sponserships are work! So you are still working. It's becoming nearly impossible to live in one's car, let alone without one. Walmart used to allow people to sleep in their parking lot but that's no longer allowed. 😒 I was in Idaho at one time, and they have many places you can pull over and sleep, but there's no bathroom facilities, so if you're sick, you're out of luck. I was watching YOU, not fishing. We currently live with an almost 99 year old lady. When she's gone, we're screwed. We're both disabled with ridiculous bills. It's too bad that we couldn't get a roommate to share the cost of this horrible rent these days, but that's frowned upon when you're a couple. Anyways, you're now part of my daily thoughts and prayers. PLEASE don't quit your channel. I want to know what your try next and how difficult it is. Please be careful. Talk to a social worker. They have ideas you haven't heard of. Big big big hugs to you.

I'm 52 and I'm right there with you. I have a family and my kids are all over the age of 18 with 3 of them still at home plus the wife doesn't work. I love my family but things are not changing and it's like they know things need changing but instead the blame each other and don't want to change things. Biggest problem in one word? ADDICTION.

In a nutshell F'ed over from an O-3 to an O-5. Otherwise I miss being in the Army but when I retired about 4 years ago I knew I was getting old and not flexible enough for things too much more. So I just said it's time to retire.

I wanted to add that when I lived in Idaho, I heard a number of homeless tell me its illegal to be homeless. They'd try to hide at night and sleep during the day by looking like they're reading a book or whatever. I met several who were NOT addicted to anything. They'd ask for money so they could stay warm at places like McDonald's who have discrete rules that you can only stay there as long as you're ordering within each 30 minutes! That's probably changed stricter since rents went up.
The home I used to live in now costs more than the two of our income combined! How are folks doing it! I REALLY need to know. My husband is back on hospice again.

People are tired of going along with societal norms yet getting nowhere. I think people are beginning to realize the lies that media feeds them and are starting to realize there are other ways to live life on your own terms. I wish folks would start raising a new generation of children that are - not spoiled, not given everything they never had as a child, raised as thinkers who are not indoctrinated into what our parents beliefs are, allowed to take a different path in life. The first thing I realized when I quit traditional work was. I had to tell myself to slow down doing simple things like walking my dogs or going to to the store. I would literally catch myself telling myself self to slow down. Traditional work makes you rush through life without you realizing it until you dont have to anymore. Just now starting the video, if you really quit your job, good for you!!!! There is So much freedom with TH-cam, you can film anywhere. TH-cam is work! Filming and editing is work! Sponserships are work! So you are still working. Congrats on being a full time youtuber and content creator. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Also TH-cam doesn’t take taxes out your check so make sure you’re saving at least 30% of your monthly income for taxes! Because you will owe the IRS a gigantic bill!

Anthony needs to track his expenses and save the receipts. If he uses them in his videos, they become a business expense and are tax deductible.

Getting a house is a great decision. Setting yourself up so that no matter what, you'll be safe and in a better position than before is a smart move. Also, not losing your perspective is extremely important. So proud of you! BTW, you aren't unemployed. You are now a full-time TH-camr working for yourself. It's becoming nearly impossible to live in one's car, let alone without one. Walmart used to allow people to sleep in their parking lot but that's no longer allowed. 😒
I was in Idaho at one time, and they have many places you can pull over and sleep, but there's no bathroom facilities, so if you're sick, you're out of luck.
I was watching YOU, not fishing. We currently live with an almost 99 year old lady. When she's gone, we're screwed. We're both disabled with ridiculous bills. It's too bad that we couldn't get a roommate to share the cost of this horrible rent these days, but that's frowned upon when you're a couple.
