you are welcome, if I understand you correctly you can combine the square roots by multiplying the radicands 42 and 2. Then make sure you simplify the sqrt of 84

So one way to look at it is, multiply the numerator by the denominator, and simply cancel out the radical for the denominator. For instance in sqrt of 16/4, you’d have 16*4=64 for the numerator, denominator remains 4. Sqrt then of 64 is 8 for the numerator. Simplify, you get 8/4=2.

So in an equation if you have already rationalized the denominator so no you have the square root of 42 times 3 times the square root of 2 over 2, can you combine the square root of 42 and the square root of 2 and get the square root of like 84 times three over two or would the first one be my final answer?
