ultimate2018 even as a female I hate perfume! It’s just so strong. I much prefer natural scents. I wash my hair with this organic stuff that has hemp and tea tree oil in it and so I like scents like that. I do wear ph balances deodorant and if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve only found one deodorant that works for me, I would switch it out for something scentless or naturally scented because even it’s too strong for me.

Personal Hygiene has to do with bathing and cleaning your body, as well as wearing clean clothes. Perfume is a plus, but not mandatory.

I have to. My scalp gets too oily after 12 hours, my hair goes flat and looks nasty. The plus side of that is that I have pretty awesome skin I almost never have to moisturize.

You can get natural deodorant and use it after showering, most ppl are accustom to their scent so other ppl would have to mention it for some ppl to realize that they smell or not
I agree. And antiperspirants aren’t healthy for us. You can make a natural one that maybe won’t smell as pretty but it will work. Just mix baking soda with coconut oil and some essential oils and you have healthy natural antiperspirant (it won’t necessarily make you not sweat, but you definitely won’t smell bad if you sweat) My family uses it and I can confirm it works.
As long as they wash underneath there every day, they’ll be fine. I use Women’s Mitchum, though, lol :)

I can bath twice a day and still need deodorant, my underarms sweat a lot and will just stink if I don't use it. And some people like my dad have not ever had to use either becuase they just don't stink, every body is diffrent.

Anti Perspirant and Deodorant are two different things.
Anti Perspirant blocks the pores of your underarms to keep the sweat in.
Deodorants kills the bacterias that produces the odor.
Plus deodorants like Sprays, Roll On's has a lot of chemicals that causes your underarms go dark.

Not using antiperspirant doesn't necessarily mean they have poor hygiene. They are actually not good for you, they clog your pores (that's how they stop sweat) and can create bacteria build up. So Cameron Diaz isn't incorrect when she says they can potentially make you smell worse. I would advise natural deodorants and just finding one that works for you.

I have a friend who washes her arm pits with soap all the time and then rubs jasmines under her armpits instead if using deodorants... I guess she smells super nice xx though i think the secret to not smelling if sweat is to always shave under your arms and wash your tops
there are several natural deodorants on the market. they do not clog your pores and they let you sweat the inpuritis your body is trying to get rid of out of your system.

When my mother was in Highschool she had a teacher from Greece. She said he was super nice and attractive. He would like ''bathe" in these oils, like a type of oil bath, once a week. And you could tell when he did it coz the oils smelled different from his regular cologne he used. She said it smelled good but some of her class mates would make fun of him behind his back for doing it. Simply because it is different than what we do in America. But she was told it was healthy for your skin. Im not sure what oils he used but its very common to use oils in baths and to put it on your body, but good smelling ones. Many of the great smelling oils do positive things for your body, so I refrain from using ones I think smell bad. There isn't many that smell bad so im not sure what Shailene is using unless she just doesn't actually shower with water at all and it all starts to mix together with her normal body smell and armpit oder?

I’m pretty sure everyone stinks it smells funky at one time or another due to circumstances but I feel personal hygiene is a must. I can’t understand how anyone could go without a daily bath or brushing their teeth. I can’t sleep unless I do both. I shower between 1-10 times a day. I brush my teeth when I awake and before bedtime. I feel it’s part of taking care of yourself & self pride. If I had a partner that stunk, I’d tell them they stink and need to wash up or brush their teeth. If I stink, I’d appreciate if my partner let me know, too. Same with my children/furbabies. When they stink, I’d wash them up. I’m not the type who refuse to get dirty either. I love a good roll down a hill with the kids.
Some people don’t need deodorant. My dad and my sister have the rare version of the ABCC11 gene that prevents them from having BO.

Yes! Cameron Diaz is so right! I use coconut oil to swap out the bad/dirty oils for good/clean oils, then rubbing alcohol after to kill any lingering bacteria... I'll break the routine up to different days of the week and only do once of each weekly to monthly depending upon body chemistry, diet, medications taken, frequency of shaving, heat/cold change rate, and anything else that affects sweating/body odors. Antiperspirants trap the germs and stuff in @ shower time because it's al water-proof-y duh!

Antiperspirant is actually really bad for you. Deodorant/= antiperspirant. Antiperspirant stops you from sweating. Deodorant just makes the sweat not smell as bad.

I worked for a perfume company operating out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida 20 years ago and a few employees, including the perfume creator, were French. One French coworker of mine was seriously one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my entire life but....my God....she reeked. Like body odor you could not believe. Just scary. How do you not have the self awareness to freaking fix that?

I read a story about Pink a few years back. Someone used the public bathroom at the same time she did and they said the scent of fish was overwhelming! Doesn't necessarily mean her hygiene was bad. Her PH balance could have been off.

Frank Sinatra use to have his servants sniff potential party guests before they were admitted in. If the guests wore perfume mixed with heavy amounts of perspiration they would be refused entry. Wise move. Some how, perspiration by itself, isn't as offensive as sweat combined with perfume or cologne.

@@AzBoNeiL Depends on the person really but if a person is constantly sweating and what not or they live in a hot and humid place like i do then a few more mini showers may be needed. Cold or colder ones to preserve hot water .

It's weird that these people who are rich and famous don't even bother with the most basic things. I can't go to sleep without flossing and brushing my teeth. I can't go a day without a shower unless I stay in bed all day. If you decide not to wear deodorant, make sure to exfoliate your armpits every time you shower. For the love of god, wear at the very least a more natural deodorant/antiperspirant if you're going to be exercising around others. I understand some people have eczeman/sensitive skin and can't shower every day, but that doesn't mean you can't wash your pits and your groin.

Correction: Cameron Diaz uses Deodorant not Anti-perspirant. Anti-perspirant has aluminum chlorohydrate in it which researchers have found that it may help cause Alzheimers, if you use it a lot. Aluminum chloride also blocks your pores and causes more bumps or skin tags under your arms. If you need to use anti-perspirant, put on regular aluminum-free deodorant first, then a smidge of the anti-perspirant in the center of your underarm. Much safer for your health, your brain doesn't need more metal in your body.
