One of the best songs of the last 10 years, as far as I'm concerned. This kid has more talent than 95% of the acts out there today. Thank god someone's come along to carry the torch, and kick ass doing it. :)
I also got your shirt that day, and I also realized that rock n roll WILL NEVER DIE! I'm brazilian, and believe or not, there are MANY people that enjoy rock n roll over there. I hope this may be a country you would visit one day, you wont be disapointed!
I saw Back Door Slam at The Creek pub in Peel, Isle of Man in 2005. After the gig I went up to them and asked what they were doing in a tiny pub on a little island when they should be touring the world and playing to cowds of thousands. Three years later, they were.
This video doesn't do him justice -- he is so ridiculously amazing to see live!!! It's still great though. Buy the CD with this song! Great recording as well!
This band will be going more places than expected, Davy is a humble wonderful human w/the best voice & loads of talent. I so love ya guys, keep on keeping
Hi Davy! I saw you guys recently at Beacon theater, monday 08/17/2009, and you guys opened for chickenfoot. I gotta say, I didnt know you guys at all!! But what a awesome surprise I had that day! I was 15 minutes late, when I found my seat, you were performing already. I was just waiting for the begining of chickenfoot, but then your music was touching my heart little by little, and just COULD NOT BELIEVE in what I was seen right in front of my eyes!
We saw them in VT. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!!!!!!!! Every single song on the two CD's we have are killers! Keep it up guy's!!!! Come back to Vermont soon too, we miss you! :)
You guys play a kind of rock that is more HEART than techniche. I have shown your videos for all my friends and not even a single one, not even those DONT LIKE ROCK N ROLL is capable to say that your music isnt good. When you finished your presentation that day, every body was talking about you in the front of the theater, and every single one was AMAZED by what you did. that day, you gotta several new fans, and believe this chain will grown because you put EMOTION on your songs
dang that was sexy. i like how he just attacks the guitar during the solo. it looks like a lot of times he's not really picking just whacking all the strings and fret muting the ones he doesn't want. i dig it.
@StuartGladney i saw them with chickenfoot. they were awesome at the tabernacle. i cannot wait for them to come back. also band of horses will be there on dec 30th i think. i want to see them too.
LYRICS: Hauled from the wreckage Dragged to the side of the road There's a man, standing alone Live by the moonlight Blown by the wind Nothing there, but the road in front of him Chorus: So tear down the walls Storm through the barricades There's fight in every corner And a night to everyday Verse 2: Drawn here by circumstance Led here by fate Some kind of misunderstanding, Led the soul astray Went down on his knees Reached up to the skies Said Lord I followed your way, won't you show me mine Chorus (2x): So tear down the walls Storm through the barricades There's fight in every corner And a night to everyday Solo: Verse 3: They say at night You hear him plead With the devil below, for his soul's release Chorus (2x): So tear down the walls Storm through the barricades There's fight in every corner And a night to everyday
I think the fact the Davy is so unbelievable makes it harder to appreciate the drummer/bass player.. IMO they are a stronger pair than the original 2. However, it's kind of a SRV scenario.. Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon were rock solid back up to Stevie, but they were not known for thier musicianship, Stevie was 100% in the forefront.. Davy will be (is already) like that as well.. He is by far the best thing to come along in the last few years.. Rock on Davy~!
Saw them live and they are freaking great, but like every song turns into this shred fest, and after like 2 hours, it gets kinda old. Nothing against him, he's a beast with beast mode turned on.
Kinda how I feel when (despite being a HUGE EC fan) trying to listen to 60s Cream. Although I don't get that feeling with this particular take. Top stuff from Davy & BDS.

Saw Davy open for Chickenfoot in NH years ago. As soon as he played Rory’s Messin With The Kid I was hooked!

Thank you for coming back to Atlanta mates!
Someone was sick last time I got a ticket.

Davy is just incredible. I think he may be channeling some of the dear departed guitar players we have lost. Rock on Davy!

LYRICS:
Hauled from the wreckage
Dragged to the side of the road
There's a man, standing alone
Live by the moonlight
Blown by the wind
Nothing there, but the road in front of him
Chorus:
So tear down the walls
Storm through the barricades
There's fight in every corner
And a night to everyday
Verse 2:
Drawn here by circumstance
Led here by fate
Some kind of misunderstanding, Led the soul astray
Went down on his knees
Reached up to the skies
Said Lord I followed your way, won't you show me mine
Chorus (2x):
So tear down the walls
Storm through the barricades
There's fight in every corner
And a night to everyday
Solo:
Verse 3:
They say at night
You hear him plead
With the devil below, for his soul's release
Chorus (2x):
So tear down the walls
Storm through the barricades
There's fight in every corner
And a night to everyday
kickass
Fanfricintastic!
