This video is all about driving The Alpine Way NSW Australia, between Khancoban and Thredbo. We started the journey from Griffith on 17th July 2021 And stayed at Thredbo Village. The drive itself was a winter wonderland experience.
The Alpine Way is a 121 kilometre rural road located in the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia. The road connects Jindabyne in the east to the New South Wales.
Before things get serious for Regional, we had the opportunity to visit the winter wonderland of Australia, Thredbo Village from Griffith. We have the best weekend of our life at Thredbo as we did snowshoeing for the first time and reached 1750 meters up from . We booked the tour from K7 adventure (highly recommended). Will post Thredbo trip vlog next.
Please be aware face mask rules is applied in everywhere and carrying wheel chain is compulsory for all 2wd exemptions for 4wd/Awd.
Now road to Snowy Mountains, there are several ways to visit Thredbo NSW Australia. We chose The snowy Mountains Highway and The Alpine Way. Both the ways are extremely adventurous. If u r confident with ur car choose from these two routes for unforgettable views.

2. Alpine Way between Khancoban and Thredbo

Your Ute is part time 4wd like my ford ranger
It’s only to be used in 4wd on gravel and sand
So did the driver put the car in 4wd high driving on the sealed road that had some snow if you didn’t have chains
We did not use wheel chains with our ute. My partner normally drove it but during blizzards I recommend carrying a chains because on the same road, same conditions we lose control in awd and are forced to use wheel chains. Hello, I enjoyed your video. I'm planning a trip to Khancoban. Did you get snow in that area?
Sorry for late response. If u visit in July august there is higher chance of getting snow there. Whenever u visit do go through dead horse gap, Thredbo this is the place where i always get lucky. Khancoban to Thredbo is a magical experience. Winter or summer

I highly recommend to book any snow trip after July
