Have you considered adding some rock/concrete/adobe to absorb heat and work as a heat reservoir ?

No I haven’t in this case because I want it to heat up the shop on random days based on when I can be in the shop and the need for heat in nc is very sporadic often warm enough to work without adding heat to the shop if I were in a more steady cold environment were it ran every day to maintain heat I would definitely make a heat sink

I have a puzzle stainless steel rocket stove and want to convert it to a wood stove using a 2 gallon paint can with a baffle. Can you help with the designs

I wonder if you could put the fan on a hinge, along with the small piece of sheet metal you removed to light it? Would it work to swing the fan out, light it, swing the fan in and then swing it out again after it's going?

One more question. What size area are you heating with that stove? Thanks

Roughly 24 x 20 with 10 foot ceiling and minimal insulation

Internally i was screaming that you dont need that fan! Glad i watched until the end. 😂. Making a restriction at the air intake can increase the overall temperature but beware of too much since it can cause burn back into the hopper and increase fuel consumption tremendously. It also incresed the spalling of the fire basket. Whats the square footage of the building you're heating?

Thanks for watching and the information
      The shop is 24x20
Remember I live in NC so the cold load is minimal

Sorry but drilling and boring are definitely not the same thing.

Why do you add pellets for a stove in a wood shop?? 🪵

      Great question
Although extremely efficient a rocket stove requires a lot of attention. They burn very rapidly and while working in the shop having to stop what you’re doing so often slows the production process and many times I wouldn’t get back in time and I would have to restart the stove
When Lisa is in the shop it’s not an issue but when I’m alone it is.
The pellets in the tube will burn for roughly 1 to 1.5 hours before the need to refuel
