I've just started to watch u at your craft.I wouldn't worry about wether everyone likes your projects. The only vindication u need is your own.And trust me alot of people love your work.Everything I've seen u make is awesome.Keep up the awesome work.
You got my attention with "Hogwarts"... I noticed Mr Nick was a bit more serious 4yrs ago... He didn't have his Waffling skill working yet. 😳🤔🤭🙃🤓🤣😂 Totally LOVE 🤟😍 This box!!!
Great work! Very nice! A couple ideas. In prepping for the gluing if you were to drill relatively tight fitting holes dead center in each of your glued up layers to fit perhaps a 3/8 inch - 10 mm dowel that would keep everything indexed in position and stop the slipping around. And I was wondering what it would look like if you made the layers half as thick and more of them. When positioning them instead of giving each a 45 degree rotation try only a 10 to 15 degree rotation always to the same direction). That would give the finished piece a twisted corkscrew look (10 layers with 10 degrees rotation each would give you 90 degrees of rotation top to bottom so the top and bottom layers would be aligned). And it would also increase the relative overlapping diameter of the layers and you could hollow it to a larger size.
Very nice. Seemingly difficult. The real "value" of your channel is your risk taking. AND you can't be embarrassed either. Makes for interesting projects that are LITERALLY One Of A Kind! Thank your sharing...
Hello from Minnesota USA. I have to say I love the way you work. I recently broke my foot and I’ve been running out of things to do. It’s like how many days are there. Then I discovered your channel and it’s giving me a new light in my soul. I love everything you make and the way that you make it. I am currently saving for a lathe and have made some projects out of resin and colored pencils which really turned out nice. Thanks for being you and saving me. Have a great day
You inspire me! I have found some beginner woodturning classes near me and plan to enroll as soon as my schedule allows. I have always wanted to do this. My Dad had a lathe he messed around with when I was a kid. The process is mesmerizing and magical. Love to you and your family from Texas!
I imagine that one could save a lot of time by sanding and finishing the entire block of wood(s) first, then cut apart and glue-up. Final turning and a tiny bit of touch up would make such a project less tiring. Your results did indeed come out quite nicely!!
I really like this box. Definitely love the colors of it. With the stacking of the layers, it makes me think of something old or vintage. Something you might find hidden away at your grandparent's house when you're doing some clearing out of things, or something. Anyway, it's a great item and very eye catching.
A tip for glue up's is to use a little table salt on the glue, it helps grip the pieces and stops the movement when clamping. I learnt that on youtube dont you know!
If you do something like that, I would advise that you clean your tools afterward incase some salt remained intact, just to make sure it doesn't corrode your tools.
This looks quite old and classic looking and really could be something in harry potter I really like it fantastic work man I definitely not seen any think like it before. I like the handle really like the wood used.
It’s very strange watching old videos because your energy and personality on video had changed so much. I like both versions so I hope you’re having fun with how you do them now :)
Hi Nick, Phew you got more guts than me mate! All those corners hungry for someone's fingers.... lol. I've never seen that sort of turning blank before but I've a feeling that we will see more now you've proven that it can be done! My late Brother in law was a joiner by trade and he used to glue big pieces of wood together, he always used to sprinkle a pinch of salt onto the glue before he put the other wood on! I've never tried it but he used to swear by it! The wood never moved! A brilliant project mate as always, really enjoyed the video👍😆👍
Hey Andrew, yeah a few people have mentioned this salt trick. umm have to try this next time. thanks buddy as always . hope you have a good weekend. its cold here , icey. like frezzing. haha all the best
NZ WoodTurning I used to think that my Brother in law was trying to pull my leg lol, he only used the slightest of pinches of salt! I can remember the tub of salt was covered in sawdust! but it worked like a good'un! I've since read some of the replies it must be better than I thought lol. It's a wonder none of the companies haven't come up with a salt sprinkler or is that a salt pot! It works better all dusty and grubby lol.👍 Have a great weekend mate, yeah a frost tonight for sure the sky is clear! Take care.👍 😆👍
Kelly Bell Salt gives a friction agent to both surfaces! Once the glue is on both surfaces of the wood they become slippery but adding the salt gives a bit of friction to help keep the wood from moving. Think of it this way... imagine the glue as glass marbles! The wood has no where to grip therefore allowed to move! But put a few stones in between the marbles the stones now give a rough surface to grip! The marbles are still there but the wood can't move because of the stone's. I hope this helps you to understand 👍😆👍
Beautiful work,I think marketing work as final resting places,or Urns would bring special meaning to those who want to keep their dear departed close to their person.I enjoyed viewing the making process.
Great project! My only suggestion is that if you set your fence to the width you need, you can slice off perfectly evenly sized pieces by moving the wood down each time instead of moving your fence for every cut. Much more efficient when cutting lots of the same sized pieces.
Thats what I was thinking. I hate seeing people doing woodwork looking like they're about to have their fingers/hand/arm chopped off - even when using a proper tool to push the wood thru a blade. Moving the fence didn't seem right.
Exactly what I was thinking. Seems a huge waste of time to move the fence for every cut. Not to mention that every block will be slightly thicker or thinner(when you move the fence for every cut)then the last, no matter how careful you are to make them the same
I thought the same thing! I found him only recently so I got the newer ones first and have been binge watching them all as I can. And yes these older ones he's so much more calm lol. I like the FUNKY version best lol
His earlier vids are much like most YT newcomers. They are nervous, self-conscious, and possibly even embarrassed. It is when they relax and find out who their YT (or in some cases their actual RL) personality is that things come together.
this would have looked even more interesting if you had been able to use wood that was dyed through in the 4 house colors. I thought originally that it was going to be 5 separate small boxes that pivoted out from each other in different directions to kind of resemble the wonkiness of the Burrow
Awesome work this is probably my favorite one so far! I think you should do more stuff like this the different angles and such make it that much better! Great work!
That looks great, I can just see it on the Weasley's mantle 👌 I have to say I love the different sounds the wood makes as you are turning it, I find it quite relaxing.
Next time you do one like this, I would like to see it submerged into a light colored resin. Still seeing all the colors of wood but having a rounder shape.
Hey Nick! I know it's a year later, but here's a brainstorm idea that just struck me: Instead of gluing them together, hollow out four individual boxes. Drill a hole in one corner of each box. Connect them all with a rod so they can pivot separately. Maybe mount them all to a base for stability and you have a four tiered jewelry box(?) Love your work. Looking forward to the future vids!
I love this project, an I love your casual nature, when explaining. Also intrigued by the music playing, while you work on lathe .. Who my I ask it that??

It's amazing to see how far you've come in these three years alone! From this to how your fun loving attitude you have now 👍
Is this the new workshop with glorious windows? Fantastic! Great natural light. 🇺🇸
I love Purple Heart! It’s one of my favorites. Very funky indeed. Very unique. Love it! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
You got my attention with "Hogwarts"... I noticed Mr Nick was a bit more serious 4yrs ago... He didn't have his Waffling skill working yet. 😳🤔🤭🙃🤓🤣😂
Totally LOVE 🤟😍 This box!!!
Finally figured out that _you're_ the one, yourself, putting on Makers Central in the UK. So cool!
Oh Nick, your wife is the luckiest woman alive, she gets to pick any and all of your projects !! They are ALL AWESOME !!!!! ♥️♥️♥️🙏🌈🌈🌈🇨🇦

Love it Nick, well done mate. It's a really nice piece 👍. Hope you and family are well
Hey Paul buddy, hope your well mate. thanks for the comment i was wonderin if you was still about .. lol all the best mate
Amazing! So crazy how calm you are in this video, I'm so used to you're outgoing and wild approach. Overall, it's still a fun video.
It's crazy to see how much his personality has came out from this video to the ones he makes now
Hogwarts and Nick! Perfect combination
Very nice, interesting work! Keep it up Nik.
Thanks buddy
Very nice. Seemingly difficult. The real "value" of your channel is your risk taking. AND you can't be embarrassed either. Makes for interesting projects that are LITERALLY One Of A Kind!
Thank your sharing...
Those first two slices look like they would make gorgeous teapot coasters
Ha! Reminds me of the moving stairs in Hogwarts! Good job, very very beautiful.
This is the greatest thing I have seen in a while. I think I've found my new favorite thing to watch.

I would call it a perfect addition to a wonderful collection, its pretty.

Your skills and creativity are simply outstanding.
I think I'm in love - both with the artistry and the accent. Fabulous work!
Brilliant! I love the fact that you mix it up with your shapes. Love the lid as well. Great piece Nick :)
Thanks very much. all the best to you
What an inspired, alluring, keen turning! Love your work sir, please keep posting your videos!
Hey thanks man, messages like this really help motivate me. thanks so much sir. have a great weekend
I love this project I am a big Potterhead & that is definitely a Hogwarts object!
thanks Dawn. im glad you think so. i thought about it and came up with this name. all the best
Reminds me of the moving staircases
Arise, Sir Nick Zammeti, for your funkadelic works of art.
I love the way you’ve accented the different woods by offsetting the design! (Not sure that sentence made sense but you get me)
I imagine that one could save a lot of time by sanding and finishing the entire block of wood(s) first, then cut apart and glue-up. Final turning and a tiny bit of touch up would make such a project less tiring. Your results did indeed come out quite nicely!!
yea i was going to say this cut it as last step, and way safer ..
yaaaaaa

Really like this project! You have a great imagination!
Great box,and a clever idea,it looks almost edible-----yum yum
yayyyy finally a woodworker that actually makes a tenon like he says instead of a mortise.
This wood selection is beautiful
A tip for glue up's is to use a little table salt on the glue, it helps grip the pieces and stops the movement when clamping. I learnt that on youtube dont you know!
What a great idea! I was thinking sand but salt is much better for turning tools....
Ymemag the salt dissolves 😉
If you do something like that, I would advise that you clean your tools afterward incase some salt remained intact, just to make sure it doesn't corrode your tools.
Greg Dykes i just use a bit of saw dust. it doesnt corrode tools and it fills any gaps with a nicer look than just glue.
Beautiful woods and I enjoy the different silhouette
I really like the uniqueness of this piece.
You sound like your not feeling well, please take care and be safe I look forward to more of your projects and a lot more of the energetic nick.
Again...Another awesome piece. Beautiful art.
Hey thanks Sila.
Very very very nice!!! I know it took a bit of work but it was worth it cause it’s beautiful!!! Much luv from Louisiana!!!
This looks quite old and classic looking and really could be something in harry potter I really like it fantastic work man I definitely not seen any think like it before. I like the handle really like the wood used.
Nick, this is a lovely piece. Very unique...."funky"
It's wonderful, funky & different! 😎
I love the mix of wood types!
I wish it had been useable magical box like in the movie😳
It’s very strange watching old videos because your energy and personality on video had changed so much. I like both versions so I hope you’re having fun with how you do them now :)

WHAT EXACTLY WOULD SALT DO?
Kelly Bell Salt gives a friction agent to both surfaces! i was thinking of it being for once the glue dried. but that definitely will become something i will be considering!!! thanks my dude !
Really great work. Looking forward to more of your stuff.
Very cool! Also would be neat idea for a lamp base
Nick, I realize that my comments and suggestions are coming to you well after you've finished the piece but it helps to keep my brain 🧠 active. 🤯🇺🇸
Very talented woodworking!
Nice work Nick outside the box again! 👌
Thanks Brian. haha a little yeah it was tricky this one.
Very nice project....... thanks for sharing.
Original and very beautiful!
Hey thanks Aleksey All the best
Beautiful work,I think marketing work as final resting places,or Urns would bring special meaning to those who want to keep their dear departed close to their person.I enjoyed viewing the making process.
thanks Paula, much appreciated all the best to you
Stunning box!! 😍 Will share your channel with my Dad- he will love it! Thank you for sharing your creations!!
Add some salt on top of the glue and it won’t slide around on you as much!!! Love your work, thanks for sharing your talent!!!
I love this so much you make such unique pieces

Nick Terrell
I was about to suggest the same thing.
Thanks Nick, that was different but great. Love it. And yes we do know Mike Waldt, been watching him for some time.
Cheers, have a great weekend

I think this is gorgeous I love the colours. It would look lovely in my room.
Hey Nick how ya doin? Really enjoy your videos, your full of laughs and jolly. Stay well and safe.
That looks really nice. This was my first time watching any of your videos. Good job.
Another Gorgeous piece ,,,
Awesome work! Love it. You have an amazing talent. I’d Love to have one for my special needs son who LOVES Harry Potter.
He's so subdued compared to more recent videos.
I thought the same thing! I found him only recently so I got the newer ones first and have been binge watching them all as I can. And yes these older ones he's so much more calm lol. I like the FUNKY version best lol
I agree - he's usually much more animated!!!

Awesome...Simply awesome Nick....!
I absolutely ADORE this piece!! Fantastic work!💖
hey there Nick that is a very good job.
Perfect for a pipe tobacco jar spot on love it very rustic looking 👌🏿

Gosh! U gorgeous hunksickle! I wish I had the skills & tools to make such amazing art items!
Nice work, very similar to an idea I have for a Resin and wood lamp.
That looks great, I can just see it on the Weasley's mantle 👌
I have to say I love the different sounds the wood makes as you are turning it, I find it quite relaxing.
OH OH OH I love it!!!! WANT for sure!!!
Hey Becca, thank you haaha Have a great weekend
You are welcome and you too.
Great video, very creative project! I also thought it was funny how your gloves got eaten off while working. I can relate, just something that happens
Love the background music and ur project turned out pretty well.
Love the purple wood
Gorgeous!
Next time you do one like this, I would like to see it submerged into a light colored resin. Still seeing all the colors of wood but having a rounder shape.
Really lovely design, gave me an idea for my next project!
That looks so nice , so cool n magical..if only i could afford it
I swear there's nothing you can't do!! I wish I could do this!!!
I like it Nick...its different! Thx 😉👍😁

Ya don't worry about wasting the entire paddock sample!!!! I started to tear up when i watched him hog it all out.
Nice box !
Cool exotic Woods !
Thanks very much
I love this project, an I love your casual nature, when explaining.
Also intrigued by the music playing, while you work on lathe ..
Who my I ask it that??
It sounds reminiscent of King Crimson's 'Fallen Angel'...
