I'd be disappointed if she said it, but still a fan. Think about it, what privilege does a white girl have playing in a league where everyone, or almost 80% of the league hating on you. CC faces disrespect all the time and she only wants to fit it. Did we all not see how she embraced Cheryl Miller; the one black person to speak to her as a person / player. If she said that, we can chalked this up as inexperience and wanting to be accepted.
CC#22 the 🐐 and I will take every chance to watch her play the game. I'm not interested in any other information about anything surrounding the game. Nothing will deter my joy in watching her play the game!!!❤️🔥🏀🐐👀
Time magazine is infamous for damaging those they don't like. At 22, if she was alone in the interview, they knew that they could trip her up - and they did - and are probably laughing their assess off at CC.
BRO!!! I said the same thing. Caitlin Clark didn’t verbally say that trash.😂 We got the same thoughts on this issue. Now she will lose a lot of fans with this unfortunately.
As a sports figure it’s easy to see why MJ stayed away from the media and their hate baiting rhetoric. He said one thing about everyone buying Nike shoes no matter what they preferred politically and everyone jumped on him. This the same for Caitlin. She is not perfect and should stick to talking about excellence in women’s basketball black or white because the haters are going to find any excuse to criticize her.
Shes 22 years young!! Maybe, just maybe, she was inferring that all of the league and bball players before didnt get the recognition deserved, not her fault or anyone else's. It is what it is. Maybe it should just be interpreted that she was meaning that whatever she could do to help the black women who have been in the league for a very long time and comprise most of the league's members, shine and get recognized for their accomplishments. And who they have been over the last few years. I personally don't think she meant anything more than that, but yeah, she did throw the word white in it, which caused the uproar. Again she is twenty two years old, and maybe it didn't think through all of the repercussions of even using that word.
I always thought she leaned “Woke” so I’m not surprised but I am disappointed that she expressed it. She’s 22 and attended college which is a mind manipulating institution, she has had Black and gay teammates as well as at least one gay assistant coach. I’m impressed that she held out this long. It has to be a heavy weight to be the poster child for anti woke conservatism for 2 or 3 million people. I don’t agree with woke politics or the activist WNBA culture but I still admire her and her game
Watched WNBA for the first time because of CC22. Will still watch her. Its her game that made many people from other countries tune in to the W, not the perceived politics forced on her by both sides. So toxic!
Any time that someone uses the word "woke," means that are anti woke which just a reaction to people who are conscientious. Nobody consciously tries to be "woke." It is just whether you consider other people's points of view. Everybody knows there are racists out there I don't choose to pander to them. I will never blame CC for addressing people's concerns. She did a good job at everything. Media, basketball, marketing. She hasn't ridden her feelings at all.
I know! This anti-woke hatred is getting carried away. When you will stop watching one of the best athletes in the world, just because you don't like what they have been quoted to say. I agree with DaPope, I don't think she said the words 'White Privilege'. She has always praised the women that came before her and I am sure that is all she did.
She's not going to miss ya. Her real fans aren't going nowhere. You all put politics in everything. I don't care anything about what she says. I like her and her basketball game.
@casualcausalityy not at all, but some of her fans don't like her for basketball or even care about how good she is in basketball. They want her to represent their values. I don't care what she says or anybody else. I like her because she's good at basketball.
I believe this is the pushback from the league giving Caitlin all the props for being responsible for getting more eyes AND 'growing' the game...allegedly. This let's me know that the league is a woke agenda-driven machine that has no brakes and will stop at nothing to get everyone to hop in and take a ride. I really am disappointed that it's come down to this that a girl from Iowa could not come and shape an entire league to get everyone fed, instead of begging for scraps. But the victim role is easier to play because it doesn't require you to be accountable. I will say the same thing here as I did on your live, if this upcoming season mirrored the end of last season, I'm good. I'll take a peek now and then, but all this drama between players, coaches, and the league is why it's a failing product. Unrivaled League, I'm gonna watch that ish flop too.
Caitlin grew up in a far left metropolitan area (Des Moines) and went to college in a far left metropolitan area (Iowa City). (I live in Iowa.) She probably has been indoctrinated in critical race theory her whole life. But i also think she's intelligent enough to think for herself. I believe that Time may have said, "We'll choose you for this award, but you have to include a statement that we will provide to you."
I despise "cancel culture". It doesn't matter who is doing the canceling or what their excuse is. I don't agree with her apparent liberal leanings, but I still appreciate her basketball skills and will continue to watch her play.
Thank you for clarifying for me. I was disappointed at first, but I'm going to give her the benefit of doubt. Come on, she is only 22 and whole world is watching every move
Caitlin Clark did a recorded interview after the article hit in which she stood by everything the article said. She also said it all again in the recorded interview. No escaping what she said. It WAS her words.
She did in person interview today where she speaks on this. Yes she said she wants to uplift them. She seemed pretty fluent in her words as well. Didn't feel scripted. None of it bothers me.
IMO, this is being overhyped by the fans and media. Like you said, because of her upbringing and being taught to be positive and complimentary towards others, self critical on her own game, and to be careful and avoid all the nonbasketball traps. But even with what she said, her perception could still be valid to her. Note, first of all, that she knows that she has an extraordinary platform. But she also stated that she has worked her tail off and earned what she has become skill wise. She does feel a responsibility in promoting the game and those who pioneered it before her. So she does feel responsibility to try to bring what she has to the other players, that being finances. She was able with one comment in an airport to get chartered flights for all teams. It's reported with the arenas being sold out and moved to bigger capacity locations on the road, she attempted to get some of those finances shared with those home players, but the union and league office declined that suggestion. So she may look at it as being privileged. But her mindset could also be, the schools her parents sent her too after grade school were not public schools but parochial Catholic, which are expensive. Her parents ability to financially offer her some advantages over the years, with all the travel on the type of teams she was on, including under 18 teams playing international teams. Or the possible extra coaching that she was able to have that other players could not afford. Now to me that's not white privilege, but she may think of it that way. But I will tell you why it doesn't bother me. It is because with all her media and public speaking opportunities, I don't hear her trying to shove white privilege down my throat, like an activist. So I think people on both sides are overreacting. The activist are going to say I am glad to hear that, but she needs to state it more forcefully and more often. She is not going to do that. To me, everyone is talking about everything except the one thing in the article that left my jaw on the ground. And it's the opening to the article. That in a practice setting, she made 85% of long 3 pt shots in 6 minutes That is unheard of. Never seen or heard of that kind of accuracy....EVER! Now that is something to consider. That isn't generational, that's super human, video game crazy.

I agree with everyone that stated that none of that 🐂💩stuff in that article sounds like our girl CC22. As a true Clarkie, I will continue to support her as the phenomenal player that she is, but she does have a few things to learn. The same people that she has tried to lift up all seaon treated her like crap and assaulted her and that will only be worse next season, because some of them still hate Caitlin's guts and will continue to for all the same reasons.
DaPope, people jump the gun before they get all the facts.
Time magazine is infamous for damaging those they don't like. At 22, if she was alone in the interview, they knew that they could trip her up - and they did - and are probably laughing their assess off at CC.
BRO!!! I said the same thing. Caitlin Clark didn’t verbally say that trash.😂
We got the same thoughts on this issue.
I will break it down she said what she said now it is up to the people to decide if they are a fan of her playing or her comments
Appreciate your take. Thanks
No one be breaking it down like DaPope!!
You are 100% correct I’m from Des Moines and those who really know CC knows she doesn’t even talk like that she’s not dumb
She's not going to miss ya. Her real fans aren't going nowhere. You all put politics in everything. I don't care anything about what she says. I like her and her basketball game.
@@ernestbrown3421 Being mad she mentioned politics is being political? Is asking politics to stay out of sports political in your eyes?
(I live in Iowa.)
She probably has been indoctrinated in critical race theory her whole life. But i also think she's intelligent enough to think for herself.
I believe that Time may have said, "We'll choose you for this award, but you have to include a statement that we will provide to you."
It makes me sick to my stomach! I just lost a tremendous amount of interest in her.
Did you not hear Anything that Da Pope just said??? Smh
Have you not been listening & watching All else that they've Done TO Caitlin??
Same
I despise "cancel culture".
I spoke on that in my live yesterday
@@dapopebfrank2265 I was listening to you reading the article and commenting. Half way through I had to leave due to life issue. I basically have 4 go tons regarding the W. You, Adrienne Ross, The Ben Daniel Podcast and Mick from the U.K. You all know what your talking about, sprinkle in enough sarcasm when needed, and are entertaining. Keep doing what your doing.
My thing is why does it matter.
Tune in to my live and I'll explain why
As someone who just wants to consume sports void of anything else the wnba been trying to force feed me a bunch of political/social BS, who wants hands all up in your plate mixing up your grub ? CC was the shut up and play hope and role model I think we were all hoping to persevere, its over now CC just validated all the nonsense and anointed AJA as the voice of truth.
I thought she did great.
I have no respect for none of these overpaid athletes! They aren't concerned about us normal folks!
Or the normal white guys supporting their families missing out on promotions because of their white privilege
Yes they can vote these in that keeps the economy down but it doesn’t affect them with all their money
One thing that disappoints me is I don't think I've ever heard cc3 stick up for her millions of fans many of whom are black and just say I have the greatest fans. Because it's the fans that have put Caitlin over the top the fandom the ratings the records it's unbelievable the last two years what she has done and then been supported by the fans. I would like to hear her say something of support for her fans. She knows her real fans are not racist but oddballs on the internet who can act like Clark fan can write s*** and then it comes back to Caitlin for some reason.
As others have said Clark is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. I would rather she just lay low talk basketball and play basketball.
I have heard her say that many times
Me too. She appreciates her fans their enjoyment of the game.
We need to stop the bullshit, and remember why we love CC it's because she is a great basketball player and that's all you should care about. Not if she aligns with your beliefs or not, She knows there maybe white privilege but there is also black privilege right Aja she did not say she had white privilege CC worked hard for everything
This is the best take that I’ve heard about this so far. I agree
I'm not that upset because I knew it was a matter of time. What a shame but the reality is that this young generation is mostly woke! I'm still a fan.
I also agree with Dapope about the whole if CC was woke like people think business she would be playing in Unrivaled. The majority of that article seems fishy to me. Plus Time Magazine has partnered with an AI Company which I found very interesting.
THANK you POPE YOU'RE TRUE ALWAYS CC❤
Go woke Go Broke a proven fact. We can make you like we did or Break you like we CAN!!!!!!
She's been woke. She's a Democrat. Not an extreme left winger but she is woke.
I'm ok with it. Love her game, we don't have to agree with everything. She did say she worked hard to get where she is.
Having fans is a privilege Caitlin, you should have appreciated us
She Owes You Nothing, but to Play Basketball to the best of her ability.
Get Over Yourself, why don't you?
@@dwightcurrie8316 Deal, I'll go where I'm appropriated
Clark is awake, not Woke.
Do not stress yourself,we followed her since college she had no privileged she work hard for it, before this TM.We are not in her locker room,60%of her teammates are black, if she got hit in broad daylight what more behind the spotlight. There is a saying Keep you friend close, and your enemy closer.😅I liove her without conditions,I followed her because of her excellent basketball IQ,no matter what ,beliefs, just respect❤ and support and understand her.
She said it live, tho
Would someone please explain to me how it is that while everyone is screaming, all white players have white privilege, Caitlin making a humble statement about the state of system racism in America is hypocritical? Of course, she's worked hard. Of course, she's earned it. You can't make this make sense.
Nah a dont think dat CC22 she mocking her Haters with dem comments about White Privilege dat what the WNBA want her to say be she knows it all down to hard work got her where she is today being White it is what it is Great content 😂😂😂😂😂😎👊🏽🎄
I don't believe thats what Caitlin said! Show me video proof, of Caitlin saying this to the columnist that wrote this story!
Personally, I think the columnist heard what she wanted to hear, and wrote it!
What happens off the court, wether w/ Clark, Reese, Wilson, ect, I don't really give two shits. I respect Caitlin Clark for her amazing playmaking skills, logo three's, and her humbleness & love towards the young fans that cheer for her!
Maybe it a clone that said it 😂
th-cam.com/video/RpIQiD9No3Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=F60ZRWgfXuiiJzQ- This interview provides context for the article and helps clarify its content.
Pope, I’ve been following CC since I first heard about her.
When I heard that she like the Kamala tweet, I lost a little interest, but hoped that would be all she did.
These are her words. It lines up with her support of Kamala. I lost of ton of interest in her from this interview.
You know I support you! So I gotta be Frank with you: you gotta call out CC on this one instead of blaming the powers that be. You did the same for Paige and Brink.
If Clark liked Trump would you feel the same way?
@ I don’t think it’s professional nor wise to bring politics into your workplace.
I don't think praising black players n mentioning her white privilege makes her a WOKE.
Oh no don’t say that….oh no…..
Wokelyn Clark 😅
No she didn’t.
Did she take a knee to the powers that be😮
she's fine bubba, let it go..
The pope is back
He should stay gone 😂
Caitlin WHO???
Clark
Disagree.
Yes Clark is Woke - Same as the WNBA - Im done watching athletes that divide this country due to race and otherwise. Clark called her fans racist and some of you will continue supporting her anyway.
She never said her fans was racist smdh
@ She said she had more fans because shes white. And black players had less because they were black. that is basically saying she believes her fans are racist without saying it.
@@FlashyBoo damn everybody putting words in her mouth 😂😂😂
@ you can have tea partys with Clark and Taylor Swift im out
Good luck watching other sport.
Fans will be right back on her bandwagon when she makes an MVP run next season
stop talking about this shit all you do is cover the walls in shit when you do
I Am Disappointed 😏‼️
