The first of many flights for the year ahead! I noticed approaching low over the solar panel farm at the end… I’ve decided not to fly over them anymore because of realizing what would happen to me if I had a motor out and hit them… would be really really bad at best.
Ken, yes I hate that particular landing pattern for that very reason and try to stay pretty high when I am over them so I can quickly turn away if an engine out. Just found out on that same day that we are likely going to lose that field as they plan to build some hangers there, but it won't be for a year or two as it is just in the planning stages now.
Hey Bob, no not really, I think it looks worse on camera because I have linear stabilization on and that tries to keep the horizon level so it makes the smallest of oscillations look much worse than it is, I just seem to like that better. But normally I am not feeling any oscillations and if I do I dampen them down pretty quickly. The worst to me looked like setting up for that landing and I did let up on the brakes a little too quickly after I pulled in that trim tab.
