I also practiced and watched your videos until I beat the math concepts in my brain. I moved from NC to IL so I learned the IL laws and watched your videos for the math. Soooo many thank youuus.
I interpreted this question to mean that the parcel is surrounded by the five foot hedge and not that it was included. To me surrounded is outside. How do we know which way to interpret these?
You do not have to memorize that there are 43,560 square feet in an acre. You only need to know two numbers. The distance of a mile, 5280 feet and that a section of land contains 640 acres. Multiply 5280 by 5280 and the result is 27,878,400. This is a section, each section is 1 mile by 1 mile. Then divide 27,878,400 by 640 and you come up with 43,560.
As with all math related items, there are multiple ways to arrive at an answer. I think for most. Memorizing the number of square feet in an acre is less involved than calculating the square footage in a section and then dividing by 640.
@@traviseverette I would have to agree with you on that. Most people with a good high school education should remember that a mile is 5280 feet. It was required when I went to school. Remembering a number like 43,560 is not a number most people learned in High School. But to multiply 5280 by itself does take a little more time with pencil and paper but not so difficult with the calculator provided to use in the testing room
