    For everyone attacking my coach, this is me wrestling. I told him to slap me. The slap helps me focus and gets me hype for my match. Nothing but love for this sport but not everything is negative. I told him to do it. End of story

    That’s a good “state breaking” technique actually. For some ppl to focus they could require a smell or a sound, for you a slap it is!

    After seeing these sad comments about this lil slap kiss, I bet David & Coach go straight to the double slap for now on just to school you some more on this very common pre-match ritual throughout our sport. This is nothing but beautiful wrestling and coaching.!
    During a match, you get slapped, punched, gouged, head but, multiple times, way harder than what that coach did, this is nothing so stop reaching. It’s called toughness and welcome to our sport.

    0.07 what happened?!
    Why did the instructor have to slap his ear?
    I really want this behavior.

      @Welleby First of all, thanks for the feedback.
      But I do think that frequent slapping in the ear canal (which might be a habitual act on a team member) can have a serious impact on the auditory system and within the middle and inner ear.

    • @retroguy9494

      Wrestling is the sport of kings. In order to truly understand it, go back and study the ancient Greeks. Wrestling has been around that long. You need to read up on how and why they did it, its history and how it transitioned through the years. Even King Henry VIII wrestled. Any guy can cover himself with a bunch of padding and tackle other guys like in football. But wrestling requires skill, strength, endurance AND intelligence. Which is why, in MY opinion, its one of the best sports out there.

    • @callen8000
      @callen8000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3trilogy You've got that right. It IS complicated. I spent six years as a Level II USA Amateur Boxing judge and referee (I've done 800 bouts including five Indiana Golden Gloves) and I would not TOUCH being a wrestling ref. It's endlessly difficult and there is constant risk of failing to prevent injury, of angry parents and coaches, and bad calls deciding outcomes. There are over 200 DVDs each of which are devoted to one particular take down method, pinning combination, or defensive tactic. It would take YEARS to master even a quarter of them. This is why virtually all of the state champs around the country started wrestling when they were 4 or 5. It takes that long for a wrestler to develop the muscle memory necessary to react effectively and efficiently on the mat.

      It is not uncommon for wrestlers to ask their coach to slap them right before a match. They do it to wake up some inner fire. It may seem odd to some folks, but the wrestlers themselves request it.

    Focus the mind, fire up the adrenaline and take the edge of anything hes about to experience.
    Basic level of human understanding why a wrestler wouldnt request a slap before a match or cultivate that dynamic with his trusted coach, hes far from a powerless 'child'.
    Goes to show how people see what they want to see and rampantly project judgement before attempting genuine empathy. The audience are even joking about the predictable fake outrage to follow.

    • @paulopamos8498
      @paulopamos8498 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not need a slap in the ear to get more adrenaline or focus. In fact, it is just psychological. Push ups are better if he wants to warm up his muscles.
