Another great mod, Tom. I enjoy how you take an inexpensive pellet grill and dress it up…..looks so much better!!!! Thanks for posting!
Thanks for Watching Robert! I really enjoy that…
Nice mods. Wish you still had this grill to see how you woukd mod it further to add a rotisserie and a light for night time grilling.
Thanks for watching Eric! Ran out of room….
Well done love it
Thanks for watching!
That looks really nice that red really makes it pop. The shelf is a nice add on as well I was looking at those pellet grills and that was the one thing I wished it had. So now when I get one I can just add my own shelf thanks to your video.
Thanks for watching!
Terrific video and modifications in the land of grills. Your videos helped me decide on the Z-Grills 700 2C2E, and that is an amazing grill! Holds temp so well! On your advice, we also bought the cast iron sear plate and also the Grill grates. Seared our steaks at 675 degrees! We have used it every day for nearly a month. Homemade wood-fired pizza tomorrow! Thanks, Tom!
Thanks for Watching Robert! I’m glad you like it!
Awesome 👍🏻 job 👌🏻
Thanks for Watching!
The paint job is great
Thanks for watching!
I'd match the self and hopper cover to the lid now. Looks nicer and any outdoor cooker needs to have a shelf unless maybe it's an outdoor kitchen and you have counter space to utilize.
Thanks for Watching Fred! You are correct
Ingenuity at it's best!!! Nice job on the mods.
Thanks for Watching Michael!
Great job Tom !
Thanks for Watching Jeff!
Tom you did it again. Had no clue i wasn’t where subscribed. Well I just made sure I subscribed this time! Well done!
Thanks for Watching and subscribing! Thank you!
I have one of those and was thinking about using the clean out plug in the bottom to pipe in real wood smoke from a can on a hot plate .
Thanks for Watching Jeff! That’s an interesting idea, let me know how it works
Looks good those grills now are 297.00 just seen it at walmart
Only thing I would say is I would have went with the bigger shelf I have the same thing bamboo but I went from left to right the width of the grill really convenient added an inside shelf and a rotisserie I've had my Green mountain grill over nine years with no problem stayed away from the primes I've heard nothing but trouble about them nice work though I might paint my hood like that I like that
Thanks for watching Michael! I appreciate the feedback!
Looks great, Tom
Thanks for watching Chad!
That red lid is nice!!!
Thanks for watching Kevin! Thanks
Thanks!
Thanks Dan! I appreciate you watching and supporting!
Hey Tom I have the same smoker and I was thinking of doing a mod for the vents in the back. Any idea on what to do to cover it ? Thanks 👍 love the channel!!
Thanks for watching Sebastien! The Louvered type vent on the back actually work pretty decent. You could rivet on a piece of sheet metal, non galvanized on the inside to block it off and the install a traditional style pellet grill chimney to the side of the grill. I believe smoke daddy inc sells them. www.smokedaddyinc.com
Great job
Thanks for Watching Jim!
Nice
Thanks for Watching!
She's a beaut Clark...LOL...You spiffed her up real nice Tom!! 👍
Thanks for Watching Randy! Spiffed up really nice!
It's probably a one year max warranty anyhow on a cheap grill. I think your "dice roll" was totally worth it. Looks great.
Thanks for watching Evan! 2 year warranty
Where can I get a new drip tray and can u show me what is the hole under the cooking box?
Thanks for Watching Davis! I would try customer service for the drip tray, I don’t have this grill anymore so in not sure which hole you’re referring to
Great mods Tom! So I’m guessing another mod might be to the heat deflector? Nicely done!
Thanks Jay! Maybe,
Ferrari red is great!!! 🏎🏎
Thanks for Watching Eric! It’s faster too!
Tom, I find the surface temp is about 40deg higher than the chamber probe indicates. Have you considered lowering the location of the chamber probe to grill level?
Thanks for Watching Dwight! I have not but that is a good idea!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I've subscribed so please post if you do.
I’ll let you know, Thanks again for Watching!
“I void warranties. It’s what I do.” Lol nice…. I picked up a few Webers on Offerup and Craigslist. I’ve learned folks never registered their grills and don’t take advantage of their warranty anyways.
Thanks for watching! I agree
If it doesn't Void the warranty it's not any fun. 👍😁 Awesome! 👍 \🔥/
Thanks for Watching Ken! Good to see you around!
Hey Tom what pellets do you use in the expert grill? Or what pellets do you recommend. Thanks in advance 🍻
Thanks for watching Trevor! I e been using Lumber Jack competition blend or Z-Grills Oak pellets
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ do you have an opinion on pit boss pellets you’re willing to share?
I’ve used them, they do work, they are larger in diameter. In my opinion they work just fine
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thanks Tom love the channel. Keep the content rolling🍻
Thanks Trevor!
I really want to see you cook something on it, like a brisket and a pork butt, see how it does.
Thanks for watching Dave! Here you go…th-cam.com/video/ExlZTcotcVY/w-d-xo.html
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ - thanks, Tom. I’m a noob barbecuer, I just have a Masterbuilt electric smoker. It does an OK job but I want to graduate to something better and a $1000 grill/smoker is NOT in the budget. This looks like a good option as long as it doesn’t fall apart within a couple years. I pretty much have only ever done briskets and pork shoulders so I’d like to see how it does.
Thanks Dave! Time will tell
Has the paint held up? Or should you go to the high heat?
Thanks for watching Shelby! Paint held up just fine
Just picked up this grill at Walmart for 149$, in Beaumont Ca
Thanks for Watching Jerry! That’s a great deal! Enjoy!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ just emailed you pics of my first mod to void warranty. thanks for the videos, I subscibed.
Nicely Done Jerry!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Did another mod today, sent email.
Awesome! Love that protected Jerry! Nicely done again!
Did u use lock nuts with plastic insides lol 😂
Dont worry there not coming off I would of just used tapping bolts this isn’t the space shuttle lol
Huh?…. Did you watch the video?
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ yes the whole thing
I’m just used to when someone say lock nut
In my head it’s usually those nuts with nylon on the end
Know I see u used lock washers with a plain nut did not pay much attention to wat was on screen lol srry buddy
No worries! Glad you saw what I used, Thanks again for Watching!
Anyone find a thermal blanket that fits this smoker?
Thanks for Watching! Not aware of any
They have this smoker at my Walmart for 297 I brought it to check out still 297 .. how do u get it for 195
Thanks for Watching! It was an in store clearance
195?! Damn, I just stole mine then, was marked down to $75!
Thanks for Watching Daniel! That’s a great price! Congrats!
Looks great Tom! When we going to see some cooks on it?
Thanks for Watching Chris! Soon!
I wonder who really makes a grill purchase decision based on the length of warranty? In the infamous words of Tommy Boy: "Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of sh*t. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time." I say modify away Tom.
Thanks Ted! Awesome Movie! I appreciate you Watching and commenting!
