India is fortunate that bright people like Sharan Srinivas J have not gone to America for higher education otherwise India would have lost him .
All MNC companies CEOs of Indian origin are milking India in every way as American or any other country CEOs will do . Indian origin CEOs knows how to deal with Govt officials .

Bluntly put, even if indian companies, incubated by IITs produce a generation old and less functional product..our government should use those chips, semiconductors in non critical projects to support them and internalize those learnings

Founders typically don't answer these questions openly ... probably because they assume that competitors will be listening. Still, I could have asked.

Isn't Shakti based on RISC-V arch ? would have loved to hear about the RISC-V based development echo system in India. How young minds are innovating and open-source hardware taking off ?

I know many people are even not willing to design something like a CPU or AI-specific chip. Not manufacturing just designing. I know it takes a huge effort but still, why are not willing to do that?

What India needs to do is exactly madness i.e. try to make the machine that ASML makes.

I sense a significant disconnect between what the Host is trying to ask and the responses Guest is giving.
Typical Indian problem, we don't listen, instead we let our mind wander and blurp it out.
Anyways, all the best to them. Coming to Pure-play Design Houses, India is already a major force in design services. India houses almost all of the major design players in the industry. So, how Indian pure-play design companies compete with global giants like Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Broadcom, is to be seen. These international companies have large domestic customers, such as Apple, Tesla, Telecom, US Defense, start-ups, etc.
And this is where India lacks. It does not have domestic players to nurture a design and manufacturing ecosystem. We are a consumer-driven market, not a B2B market.
Our trade deficit with China and our dependence on them for everything electrical and electronics is an evident sign.
I wish Indian startups the best for the long and arduous journey ahead. Everything has a start.
