It was very scary in places mate, I’ve never rode anything this steep before, great for overcoming fears though haha, providing you don’t kill yourselves 😂👍🏻
Great job Mate. Yeah it takes some getting used to that type of terrain. Loads of this sort of off piste at the Forest Of Dean, i'll organise a group ride there and have a day of it.
I went up here yesterday to have a look at the off piste trails, I was surprised at how many there were. They were super muddy and slippy and require a lot of commitment. I ended up walking a lot of it. If they were dry they wouldn't be "as bad", but I think they stay wet most of the year. Your guides made it look a lot easier than it is. Like you I need to build up my confidence on these. Well done and thanks for the video.
Thanks mate, yeah, I think Macc Forest is always muddy, great for building confidence, if you can ride that stuff, you can ride anything 👍🏻😁 appreciated 🙏
Nice one mate, scary stuff in there, that first run! You did good overcoming that fear. Right mindset helps and reckon next time you will be way more confident!! Great riding and progression 🤙
@@HallMarc_Trails totally agree mate, experienced this at FOD and Risca. Scared the crap out of me but felt so chuffed afterwards. Think that's why I like One Giant Leap, it scares me
Good progress ride Marc. Learning to trust the ruts and catch berms to change speed and direction is one of those 'Hallelujah' moments. All of a sudden these type of tracks make a lot more sense, if not any easier. I could tell your confidence was down as you had your weight shifted back which unfortunately makes the front end more likely to slide. Queue vicious circle.
Nothin like a good ride to push your limits. I love rides like that. Well, as long as I go home with no injuries. Lol. Next time you hit that place, I’ll bet, some of those obstacles will be easy for you. I loved this one. Nice job!
I hate riding on slick trails. What happened to you is what happens to me with the front tire slipping out. I think you did very well, though! Doing steep and muddy trails is brave. Was that padding around the tree at 13:11?
Staying Active R A Warrior, thanks mate, it was so steep it was terrifying at times, yes I think it was padding, there’s a few trees with padding round them, I’ve seen some horrific crashes from here on TH-cam, thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
It's so much fun riding in that stuff you'll get used to it 👊 a big contrast to the Rocky river beds usually riding 🤣😂 and a privilege to ride such a tecky trail and survive it 😜 and then trees🌲 keep jumping out on the trail at 👌👊 you
@@HallMarc_Trails brilliant video mate it's always nice to have a challenge something you haven't done before have a go at then in the summer when it dries out of it 🤔🌞👍
@@HallMarc_Trails oh yeah mate good place to practice but worth wearing a full face though in the summer I would love to have something 40 minutes away from me like that 🤔👊👍
Totally different than what I’m used to, I’ve rode a lot of muddy forest trails but nothing ad steep as these, I agree, if you can learn to ride these in the wet you will ride anything 😁👍🏻
Thanks mate, i rarely get out on sundays unless my wife disrupts my saturday haha, i'm happy to meet you next time i'm there, hoping to do a few after work rides up there when the nights become lighter 👍
I bet that's a massively different experience when its dry lol, some of it looked horrible with all the mud, overall good video though, looks like I got some catching up to do lol
Good effort Mark horrible slightly conditions and steep tech very difficult stuff.

I tell a lie, it was like the ridge line at stiperstones but I’m extreme slippy mud lol
My sort of trails!
It reminded me of some of the trails you ride to be honest, extremely slippy though, I need to ride more of this to improve my skills 😁👍🏻
@@HallMarc_Trails keep at it. Speed is your friend over the roots. Counter intuitive though and hard to persuade your brain!
I’m going to ride this mid week after work a lot when the evenings become lighter, the more you do it, the easier it will be I imagine
@@HallMarc_Trails defo!
Awesome steep trails . Well done 👍. Super tech and gnarly 🔥✊
Thanks mate, terrifying at times but it’s all part of progression 😁👍🏻👊
Mate, Macc Forest is proper riding! 💪 Techy with less than no grip! 😱 It's hard to ride but seriously good practice! 🤘🤘
Thanks mate, yes, very sketchy but the only way to push yourself and improve 😁👍🏻
@@HallMarc_Trails we're up there from 18.00 tomorrow if you wanna do a night ride? 😱😜🤘

Nice vid dude. That would be a whole different track in the summer.
Thanks mate, I think you’re right, I shall definitely be going back 👍🏻
First time up there today. Wow, mega wet and slippy, but good fun.
It was our first time there too, I bet it was worse today than last Saturday, definitely worth the visit 😁👍🏻
@@HallMarc_Trails Lethal today. Dropped the tyre pressure really low half way around made a massive differance.
Cracking stuff mate, looks proper good there. Wish I'd have found a way to come along now but I was at a kids birthday party :(
