    Hi Tish, I'm subscribed to your TH-cam and Facebook. Newbie here. I found after demolding there is quite a bit of sanding needed for sharp edges. Is there a way to eliminate sanding?

    • @naptimecreations
      @naptimecreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thank you so much and thanks for watching 🤗
      Sanding is my least favorite part of resin I try to avoid it if I can. I find filling up your molds all the way to the top Is the best way to avoid sanding.
      When I have sharp edges on the back of my coasters I take a nail file. Go outside wear my mask and gently go along the sharp parts with the Nail file. It usually does the trick.
      Do you watch Julie from pouring your heart out? In this video towards the end she talks about and shows how to add a backing layer to your coasters to avoid that sharp edge.

    Ok so all you do is just add the two or as many colors as you want and you just swirl it around? Ok good. For some reason I actually thought it was going to be complicated? I don't know why I thought that but I actually did

      Yes on these I only used 2 colors then swirled. Super easy technique. Definitely give it a try. Let me know how they turn out.
      Thanks for watching 🤗

      @@naptimecreations hey I have another question. So I just got my resin molds today and I was wondering how long do you cure it for? And for each color? Can you let me know as soon as you see this post please?

      @@Barbie_All_The_Way I poured the colors into the mold, filling the molds up 2/3 way full. Let it sit for 1 hour then I went in and drew the swirly lines. I let that dry for 12 hours then I filled the molds up the rest of the way with clear resin. Let them dry for 24 hours then I demolded them.
      Fully cured depends on the brand of resin you are using. I usually let my products sit for a week before I use them. Some resins take longer to Fully cure. Which resin are you using? It should say on their website how long it takes to reach full cure.
      Fully cured isn't the same as dry to the touch. When they're dry you can demold them but you don't want to use the coasters or sell them or gift them until they're Fully cured.
