Yes my brother I am from Sierra Leone and we are coming home already started our investment,my wife and I. We live in the USA, Sierra Leone is our home, and we are coming.
I agree with you 100%. I am from Liberia and we face the same challenges. I am investing in Agriculture in Liberia. We do Palm oil, rice and vegetables. We started small but we are expanding. I currently have 8 fulltime employees. I still live in the U.S. for now. Our goal is to become the premier food producers in the Mano River Union. The biggest challenge is the dishonesty of our people. The other challenge is financing. Nevertheless my project continues. I posted a few videos on TH-cam to document our progress. 2020 will be a big year.
Iam from sierraleone and all i can say is god bless you bro, a lot of africans in america dont send no money back home, ask them what western union or money gram is and they'll have no idea of what you are talking about
Amara Dumbuya ...Not all Africans do this bro ...Kenyan 🇰🇪 people are the no 1 source of foreign exchange in the country by sending money back home ...We all face challenge of dishonest relatives who misuse the money sent for investment....Diasporans have thus invested in savings and cooperative societies that buy and develop land on their behalf
Dishonesty is bred by desperation to survive, develop, and grow...suppressed all over Black Africa by Colonizers, other foreigners, with “Militaries, 21st Century and Bio Chemical Weapons. Almighty God’s intervention to deliver/protect/develop/ Black Africa is only solution. The whole world will be better off.
Wode Maya, you cant believe how far and fast this vid has gone. It has gone viral on WhatsApp and Facebook among the Sierra Leone community in America, Europe and Australia
Yaaaasssss! This is powerful! I am African American and through my dna test I found out I am Nigerian and Sierra Leonean! I plan on investing in Sierra Leone and gain citizenship! It’s time for us in diaspora to come back home and invest! My fiancé is from Ghana and We plan on investing there as well. Your videos are powerful! Africa to the World!
Africa Prophet (WODE MAYA) you make me cry this morning. From since I have started watching your videos, this is the best message for Africa more especially Sierra Leone. Today you showed us that you love Africa more than any other place on earth. I will share this video throughout this month till it reach every corner where Sierra Leoneans are. You are a blessing to Africa that's why I always call you AFRICA PROPHET. May God continue to bless you and your crew members.
Prophet wodemaya see what happened to Dr Chuhumburi. That's Africzn politics. You are lucky you are Ghanaia and you started with those progressive African countries as your benchmark.
Thank you so much for your good work my brother wode maya I think lot African wants to go back home and invest when you go and invest the never take care and they will never respect you they respect the Chinese and the white people and the security I want to come back Africa and invest no security no respect I'm praying to God hopefully this will change soon thanks
The Chinese and Indians have taking over the country and not allowing the indigenous a chance. I'm not from that country but my friend is. The foreigners have bought over the people in government
The hate and tribalism issue for those whose parent are not originally from Sierra Leone is real sometimes especially for the fullanies. In fact you don't have to be born in Sierra Leone to be accepted. A Guinean or Nigerian or Ghanaian or any other African diaporeans should be fully accepted if he or she want to live in the country. Africa is one people. We still have a long way to go before our minds are united as one. This is why we need a leader for the youths. I am Maya.
@@abdulaijalloh3476 Playing the victim I see. I wonder what do they say about you. I have fula in law family, and they are doing quite well for themselves - FYI. One of them is actually the minister of education (Alhpa Timbo). Not only that but they have been prominent people in our society for quite sometime now. Also, there're many other fulas I know who are doing relatively well for themselves in Salone. So, you might want to garner a collective introspect of what is happening in Salone before you start pointing fingers on tribal issues merely.
@@mohmhk I know exactly what you are talking about. But let's face the truth, there are many Sierra Leoneans onto this day that are very teibalistic and think that the fulla tribe are foreigners, even we who are born there. Our parents are Africans too. This struggle is real sometimes. I remember when I went to Sierra Leone independence party in 2017 and I tried to talk to a fellow Sierra Leonean sister and she said, you fulla man don't talk to me. This sort of issues still exists in our country. Wode Maya don't know this issue exists in our country but let me say this, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry, are some of the worst teibalistic countries in Africa. This is fact according to research in Africa. I love my country but let's don't hide the truth. Even the current first lady faced lots of issues when president Bio just took power, because of her origin. Tribalism is real in Sierra Leone and this has to stop brothers and sisters. We are all Africans and Africa is one.

That's why I love you WODE MAYA. This is called HOLY ANGER and it is good for all AFRICANS and not Salone alone. Let's come back and build our continent. The time is NOW. Once again, WELL DONE Maya. Posterity will judge you right.
Wode Maya I can sincerely feel your LOVE, pain and the sadness you are experiencing while visiting Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 in this video today. As long as we in the diaspora continue to work as individuals when it comes to investing in Africa, it will take many years before we will see change. Please believe us when we say the majority of us are not rich. We live on credit which has the appearance that we are wealthy. However, I do believe if we establish Africa Investment Clubs in every state in the diaspora, we can put our money together and contribute collectively to make a difference sooner than later. Thank you 🙏🏾 for being vulnerable enough to show your true feelings for this country. I pray God gives us all the knowledge and tools to assemble and do justice for Africa....Ashe’
TreeofLife Eden this is an excellent idea. I will be in touch. We need find more interested investors. We will need business partners in Africa as well.
Your home is your home They must surely come back . We have everything in Africa but we move overseas for "greener pastures" and we end up being served with "black pastures" Aiya Maya
Nothing is wrong with seeking green or greener pastures but when you find it and things become good then go back and share the wealth so the green pastures can be realized right at home..
Thank you for sharing your true feelings. You are absolutely right Maya ! We as a people have to stand up inside ourselves and do better. Just think about it. I’m an AFRICAN born in America, my family Survived slavery and that’s a beautiful thing to have over come that but at what cost ? It’s like we left our brothers and sisters and we never came back to share the knowledge or wealth. Growing up here I was never told to explore Africa or invest or help our brothers and sisters. Not until I started watching your channel I NOW understand how much I’m missing out on. How blessed we are to have Mama Africa and she’s still standing and waiting with open arms. You make me want to explore and come back to share what I have learned in these 37years of life. I now know there is a great need and I am sad to. Sad that it’s taken so long for us to consider coming back to help and develop our continent. Sad that I live in a nation that made an effort to keep me unaware and Ignorant, we are brainwashed here for there purpose. We are here working and build their Nation. Making their CEO’s rich. We have learned from the oppressor how to live in his nation and shoot for the so called American Dream. It was never for us. Most black Americans live paycheck to paycheck and that’s it. If I lost my job tomorrow I could not do anything other then go live with my parents and try and start over. They keep the wealth from us because they are scared that if we are Financially independent we can now think and build just like them. Where I live in Houston their are so many Africans that say that they never want to go back because it’s to hard to live back home or the people are so poor and have nothing and when you have a little more then them, you tend to have to watch your stuff. Yet here I am wishing I had a connection to a home now after watching every One of your videos! Wishing I had a language to call my own. We should be a shame to run and leave by choice. We don’t have a vision to be whole and as One. To us American ! It’s time. It’s time to taking sew skills and our blessing back even if you only go once or twice a year just to connect and make some kind of business connect. We have to help solve the problem. It’s a lot on our shoulders but we have to get free of the debt here in this country and once we are free of loans then we can help build home.
I know this comment is from 3 years back but I love it. Its beautiful and well said. I’m Sierra-Leonean but born and raised in Germany. So I feel you but when I had the understanding to truly find home, I at least had a family and country to turn to. What you described, was exactly what I was thinking specially during the viral times of Black Lives Matter. That system was not build for black people. I know it’s not easy for you guys but it’s time, go and find your home. When you really understand where you come from, you will always be proud from the inside and nobody will ever be able to put you down. Africa was not, is not and will never be what the white man want us to think.
Sad video but you said it all, yesterday i was just telling my Nigeria friend that my country is been ruled by foreigners, all businesses and powerful mansions are owned by foreigners which’s so sad 😭, i just left there 3 years ago so i knew what am talking about, but am still on the hustle to make a change in my own way God blessings you bro for been honest ✊.
Nigeria? You haven't gone round Nigeria much then. The biggest investments in Nigeria today are OWNED by Nigerians. They may be dirty sources e.g. politics and scams sometimes. The foreigners are only the "faces" of those businesses. You left Nigeria only 3 years ago?...lol.
Maya, you're an amazing youtuber, you show the true culture of africa than most others in media do, you show the real africa, the historical landmarks, the education
Am from Sierra Leone let me tell you what you don't know 1.the people that are living in Sierra Leone are the problem we are here kelling our self to invest in our country but the people back home will never give chance we send them money to invest but what they did they destroy the money and at the end of the day they will tell you stories about the money you send to invest our Sierra Leone brothers back home instead they sell property to you the Sierra Leonea that wants to invest no they prefer selling it to outsider, SO MAYA if you ask a question this is some of the reasons y many sierrialeonia dont invest in Sierra Leone my English is not that perfect but I hope someone understand me 😫
My sister you are right but our people back home need to change there ideology about us living out of Sierra Leone, they everything is fine and we have a lot of money that why we are investing in our country ..... We all need to change our attitude..
@@marvinola-browne2170 Both of you are right but it's not just Sierra Leone it happens all over in black countries I am from Jamaica and people there think and do the same thing they rather outsiders take over everything then the returns and the returns are saying the same thing as our sister stated some give up on the island and because of the killings going on there but it's not everywhere in the country is dangerous only certain parts on the island bad but you can still walk around free and do business we should go back to our countries and invest don't let the Chinese people take it away because whenever they fully take over the next will happen you end up been a slave of a outsiders in your own country wondering how that happened go back and invest America is not for us it's a country of opportunity to build ours encourage your sister and brothers to go and invest in Sierra Leone and whichever country you are from it will benefit you in the long run

@@sonofra889 You idiots keep talking about Africa must unite, but fail to understand that tribes and regions in countries of Africa are not united. Absolutely. God orchestrated hand in it all. I totally know! And nothing is going to stand in the way. It is done already. We are all just journeying with Maya in this awakening awareness, in concious ness. In this century, the African minds would be fully liberate. That transformation will be evident in our Unity. The work of Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King, Asilase, Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela, Thomas Sankara, Fela Kuti is echoing louder than ever. It is in our every day conversation, it's in our music. Music is a very powerful catalyst for social change. We have afrobeats drumming it way into aIrwaves all around the world! That's how big our influence is! It is a New Day for Africa.
SORRY FOR LONG COMMENT! I really appreciate your honesty. I recently learned that my ancestors were from Sierra Leone. I was excited to return to my ancestral home as I began to research the history and country. BUT I, have to be honest I was truly heartbroken at the state of the people, the country, and the government, ect. The senseless poverty. Plus the vast contrast between the wealth and living conditions of the foriegn occupants and indigenous people of the land. It was as if Sierra Leone was the slum of Africa and set up much like Europe (with the have and the have nots). I also feel that all the historical information is short, lacking and/or fall in the area of being truly depressing or negative. To top it off it seem to be still plagued with political dictatorship, greed and genocide through manufactured decease and chemical extermination experiments on the people by foreign nations. All that being said. For an African of the diaspora to just move to Africa in search of freedom and opportunity is a big leap of faith. But for us to even consider moving from one horrible evil slave system of suffering to an even worse situation is very unlikely. I wouldn't consider South Africa for the same reason and it's infrastructure is far more stable. But the government is still to questionable and there is far far to much non African wealth, power and business ownership. I have been watching you and Trudy videos very closely since you arrived hoping to have my mind changed in maybe reconsidering relocating in Seirra Leone. But could quickly tell through the lack of content, and videos you guys have done that things arent going well and even you are finding it difficult to ignore the horrible state of the country. It's sad because my people have such a beautiful spirit. I do plan to invest once I build a foundation for my family. But can't put my families future, and life savings into a failing, currupt infrastructure that exploits its own people and resources. That wont help anyone. I don't mean to be all negative but this is the truth from my perspective.
yep, i agree with you Maya, even the Chinese owns most of the businesses. i was born and raised here in the states but my heart has always been is in africa. right now im investing in the transportation sector and presently building a primary school in my parents village in the yoni chiefdom of sierra leone. I was inspired by dr harnet with investing in africa. we can't depend on the government to develop the whole of the country, like you said we need to come as one and build up sierra leone.
@@gullahjak7007 I was travelling to sierra leone abt every six mos to a year. During my stay, I was trying to figure out exactly what would be a profitable business to invest in and at the same time, something that would financially fund my bldg project. I did my research for abt a year and realized that the most basic needs ppl depend on such as food, shelter, education, housing etc, just gave me an idea to invest in one of those areas. I also watched alot of Dr Harnet videos here on youtube which I strongly recommend you check her vids out.

Thanks bro for the good work you and the other bloggers are doing for Africa. You guys are changing the European negativity about Africa. Good job. This is holy anger bro. You really love the motherland. You are really blessed.
The same story all throughout the African diaspora, even among African American communities. Trillion dollar black economy and very small black business ownership😔
Yes Maya, lots of Sierra Leone descendants lived in the Caribbean, since we were stolen from West African and brought to the Americas, we have to find out way back now, but one day we will be back
Very well said my brother. As a Sierra Leonean living in the UK, I have decided to make that move. Most Sierra Leoneans are worried about the unstable political situation and the healthcare system. The current government lead by our President, His Excellency Julius Masada Bio, is doing his best to put Sierra Leone back on the map. Once those things are in place, my people will start making such moves. Thanks for highlighting the obvious. I’m your number one fan, keep up the dynamic work.
I went through some comment as far as I can,I noticed you liked all comment at least as much as I could read thats very thoughtful and shows how u appreciate everyone even negative ones, that's really impressive. Bless u
Thank you Maya for all the love you’re showing Mama Africa. It will come back to you a 1000s times. The scenario is the same in every African country, unfortunately. That’s the reason why Africans are leaving the continent. Foreigners own large parts of our economies & Those who stand up against this neocolonialism are quickly silenced.. Unity is the only way. Decolonize the mind, unite & free ourselves. keep up the great work. Hope the people of Salone hear your call..
Who do supposed to show the country? Get that mentality out your brain. They they they they. Get up and do it yourself instead of waiting for someone to do it for you.

Good i am a sierra Leonean from the krio descendant what is your plan for investment i believe a joint business Idea could be good for us living aboard, because we are talking about a lot of money, and i don't Want to sell my home in Sweden just yet. I see potential in the tourist business building and marketing ourselves especially to AA looking for a cool holiday with a African touch Let me know what are your capacity. I believe in this government and the Mayor is a krio descendant she is very dedicated.
Is that all you picked in that message? Too bad. A young man of less than 5 year post graduation experience is challenging the papas and mamas in Africa and Diaspora to come home and do what they are doing over there to build their country. What is simply means is this, if he is in their shoes with money they have acquired over time, he will rather come home and build the country instead of staying abroad and turn their home country into another slave camp. This is a POSITIVE CRITICISM and don't see it as an attack but a challenge.
I’m not living in Sierra Leone but I wish u did go to BO, kenema or makanie we the people from that side invest a lot! In Freetown it’s had to even get a place or land the moment the know u are from Europe the will now price u the amount u could use to buy a land and build in BO or kenema!!! It’s sad the people who own lands over there should stop being greedy!!!!! That's your opinion, but as always be strong in your faith be you Muslim or Christianil Let us change our minds set if only we want Africa be a better continent
Maya you are right, but it start with the government regulating it. most Sierra Leoneans living abroad do have a business back home but sometimes our people want to eat more than those who invest in the business even before the business developed. The government need to put in place some regulations preventing foreigners owning large percentage businesses like other Africans country. We will not stop investing our little change back home for those of us who are trying our best to do something back home. Lebanese, Indians and them lots treating our people badly because they work for them need to stop ASAP. We need to take control of our country and now is the time to do it.
Rightly put. Proper policies needs to be set in place that favours the nationals... I don't want to say much here but some of us have tried in the past and we saw the implications. Anyways its never too late.
There is a large community of descendants from Sierra Leone living in Charleston SC all the up the coast to Beaufort, SC, called the Gullah Community. They know who they are. They celebrate their heritage every year in the month of May. But, this large group of people where just acknowledged Sovereign. I doubt they uproot themselves, unless forced. However, African must know that many of us WILL RETURN!!! God is putting everything back the way it was; we just have to be patient and believe. Africa should also note that we are watching!!! Politics are playing hard in the background of Africa, so the Diaspora must use wisdom.
AMH Current Events Very informative! Everything you said about the Gullah community in SC is true and also about the “politics playing in the background...”

My family is from South Carolina too, called The GeeChee People. In the Past, like 50 years ago, some people still spoke an African dialect, but not anymore. I mainly remember a few words from my Grandmother. I'm retirement age and was considering Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
That's how I felt when I went to Jamaica earlier this year. I went to Montego Bay and all of the business on the "hip strip" are owed by east Indians. So all of that tourist money is barely going to the native Jamaicans smh. I come from a city in the states that has a very large Jamaican population and Jamaicans have businesses all throughout that city so I don't understand how this could be happening in their home country. I understand also that it could have something to do with government corruption but still, no excuse. We( the African diaspora) have to do better and take control of our communities and countries.
@@dawnb.1127 I've been there so... what info do I have wrong? Get out your feelings. Jamaicans told me themselves about the corruption in that country. I spoke with the people who actually live there and ask questions and patronized the street vendors in the process.

Hey! I'm a Sierra Leonean living in exile and I actually went back to invest and had to forfeit in loses in around 30k. Generally speaking, let's just say there is a negative and a positive side of business' outcome, and unfortunately for me I ended up having to endure the negative side of things. I also know quite few of us who have went back to take on this venture just to lose in the end. My friend, I know your heart's in the right place but we as sierra Leoneans have way bigger problems than merely opening mini supermarkets and resorts close to our beaches. We have an education and cultural problem, just like many, if not all black nations. An immaterial process within us has to happen before any real progress is achieved. Until then nothing is going to change. We will continue to circle around bragging about how beautiful our lands are and how much resources we supposedly have.
@@iTuber012 What type of logic is that? A witness to a murder is not obliged to concoct a different story of what he/she saw just because what he/she saw has become repetitive.
so many Sierra Leoneans want to come back home and invest but going through the process is fustrating, people in authority past and present Government discourage the average Sierra Leonean because of Bribes by the foreigners. Foreigners have more privilege in Sierra Leone that's the main reason
Richard is everywhere in Africa but still we must come together and build the continent...you cant denied your father just becos he doeskin take care of you
I think speaking from experience I don't think people do not want to go back and invest, but I think investment takes time. You can't be living in the west and think that you will be doing business with our families out there, because they will destroyed it and I am a victim of that. But again that is course by the misconception our people have about the west thinking that things are so easy that we get money easily. I in particular have tried to educate my family about the hustle we go through every day in the west in order to send something to start a business or even paying school fees for some, but some of them listening and not working with it and some of them just think you are too greedy or you talk too much. Well I have the intention to go back and invest in agriculture by God's grace, but first have to finish building. That way I do not have to stay in my family house or in a rented house, because if am coming to farm have to be there for good and involve in it. I might be over the topic but that's my take. Thank you Wode Maya for your kindle observation and thank you for venting out your anger/concern. I will definitely share this in all the group that am part of.👍👍

@@TemdriWorld Hence the reason why I want to invest in that sector, because I think not too many of our people knows the potential and Money agriculture can impact the life of people. Thank you for seeing what am seeing
This is sooo true. They will be destroying instead of helping you. They think here in the west you dont even have to work, you get free money. I think one of the great problems is the mindset of the people. And many of them are very lazy. They think: i have sombody in the west, so when i need something i will call that person for help. Forgetting that , that person has his or her own bills and so on to pay. The farms are wasting, many dont want to do farm work.....i am soo sick and tired of that kind of mentality. I could go on and on.....love you guys
When I was in Sierra Leone my family was into agriculture so when I came to the US I make sure to save up enough money to send them to buy a plot of land to continue doing agriculture, but they use the money for God knows what. some of us here are trying our best but our people over there need to change the mentality it’s not easy to make money anywhere in the world they think we get it so easy here. I still wanna do Argo culture this time around I’m trying to prepare myself enough to go over there to over-see the projects.

This is a genuine cry for help from a loving child to her siblings to save their mother. May you be heard !
When Nigerians start investing they start to hate on Nigerians. Please we blacks we need to love ourselves much better
You have proof of "they" hating because Nigerians started to invest?
I have been amongst Naijas in Naija. Envy and jealousy is a serious thing. I hear how they dog each other.
The hate and tribalism issue for those whose parent are not originally from Sierra Leone is real sometimes especially for the fullanies. In fact you
don't have to be born in Sierra Leone to be accepted.

@Queen I love your comment! Im in Houston too.. i would love to connect with you.

I feel you on this. I want to invest but have the exact same concerns that you have. I’m sad. Don’t know how to fix it.
So true Maya. Your message is so honest, sincere and touching.
May God bless you brother.
yep, i agree with you Maya, even the Chinese owns most of the businesses. i was born and raised here in the states but my heart has always been is in africa. right now im investing in the transportation sector and presently building a primary school in my parents village in the yoni chiefdom of sierra leone.
It true our government should put a policy .
So true
My Brother, may God bless you for saying the truth & the passion you have for Africa.
I am from South Carolina...and I'm. Part Seirra leone...and Im am trying to come back home to the mother land..I cannot adapt here in this Amerikkka...and spirit is telling me to leave
My family is from South Carolina too, called The GeeChee People. In the Past, like 50 years ago, some people still spoke an African dialect, but not anymore. I mainly remember a few words from my Grandmother. I'm retirement age and was considering Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
TRUE TALK!! Thanks for the reminder!! 💯👏🏾👏🏾
Kari asani, before you take about Jamaica, please get your information correct.
@@dawnb.1127 I've been there so... what info do I have wrong? Get out your feelings. Jamaicans told me themselves about the corruption in that country. I spoke with the people who actually live there and ask questions and patronized the street vendors in the process.
The same thing here in USA
@@ugooko7569 true but the United States isn't a black majority country but we still do need control over our communities of course.
@@JdmCivicLife you are right. I support the Africans there and bypass the Indian shop. They may have limited stock but am happy to make a sale with them. The Indian shops have tiled floors and a/c. Support your own First and Always.
Maya, you are doing your best to inform Africans.
The problem Mr Maya with Africa at the moment is the level corruption in higher offices.Foreigners take over coz they come with extra forex to buy deals under the table.Regular Sierra Leone diasporans work hard to get whatever they getting and to come and give it to corrupt government officials might not cut it.
So true my brother may God bless mama salone 🇸🇱🙏
Go to new brookfields hotel on Jomo Kenyatta road, hotel Bamoi, wusum hotel etc they're all owned by Sierra Leoneans
I will go and check it before I leave
Hopefully, Maya will follow this lead.
Emmanuel , how many of these hotels can u count that belongs to salone man. It's really "SAD"
We need more than that.
God bless you to tell our stake holder the truth
When you go to Liberia, it is the same. It is so frustrating. Everyone wants to work in government.
Thank you Maya! You do not know how much I appreciate this message. Your message went directly in my bones. I was having chills and I was very emotional at the same time listening to you.. I have been thinking about going back for quite some time now and that is why have been watching your videos and Tayo's. This is it! This is the message I was searching for. Thank you Maya! Thank you!
Thanks for that perspective
Please don't give up. Learn from that first lesson and go back but this time ready not to let anything nor anyone stop you.
@@dansitedzepadi8943 I took heed, and thank you for those encouraging words - truly appreciate them.
@@mohmhk we cant afford to throw in the towel but I still feel your pain
Yess Wode Maya, my brother. Talk the truth!!! I’ve never seen you this pissed. But I totally get it💯
Ask the Sierra Leon people in the country about why the situation is like that?
Government is the downfall of many Africa countries
@@Eric-Newman same ol talking points. Develop an original opinion
@@iTuber012 What type of logic is that? A witness to a murder is not obliged to concoct a different story of what he/she saw just because what he/she saw has become repetitive.
Poverty?
Well said my Brother, this message go to all Africa living in OVERSEAS. I hope they will hear.
so many Sierra Leoneans want to come back home and invest but going through the process is fustrating, people in authority past and present Government discourage the average Sierra Leonean because of Bribes by the foreigners. Foreigners have more privilege in Sierra Leone that's the main reason
Richard is everywhere in Africa but still we must come together and build the continent...you cant denied your father just becos he doeskin take care of you
You are freedom fighter, a hero number 1 citizen of Africa, I don't see you as youtuber but gr8 hero of Africa, we are proud of you maya

Farming is needed and animals. We are importing chicken and strawberries to name a few, you will be a very rich man in Salone if that is your pation✊🏿👌🏿👍🏿🇸🇱
My husband is Cameroonian and feels this way.
