In this video, I am bringing y’all along for my small apartment tour!! After downsizing from our 3 Bd 2 1/2 bath house to a 2 Bd 2 bath apartment for about 3 months now, I am excited about what it's looking like! Growing up as a military child and now a military spouse, you don't get to chose where you live most of the time, so I've learned to make wherever I live a "home!" I love creating peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming spaces for my family and friends and COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!! They are literally the BEST!! Of course I still have more decorating to do, but I am happy with how our space is looking so far! A talented friend of mine has been helping me put my ideas together for this space and is a fellow TH-camr, Regina from Livin' Rosario! This is all jumbled, a disorganized, emotional reaction to your video. I just ran across your channel, and had to watch when I glimpsed your entry photo. Your voice and your space are both so calm and soothing, and the neutral color scheme, minimalism and organization all add to the overall "vibe." I loved your detailing nearly every item, but I would have liked to see the rain stick! I fell in love with African pieces decades ago, but could never put all my loves together in a cohesive way. I'm so sorry for your circumstances, and when you got to your bedroom and alluded to praying for your marriage, it brought tears to my eyes, for all you've had to go through. It is a loss, even with hope, and I'm so glad you have had the support of family and friends. You've created a beautiful space--home--for you and your girls. They are blessed to have such a mom for what they, too, are going through. I love your combination of African with collected pieces--they blend seamlessly! I love framing mudcloth! I've got to find a way to fit some in my home! I've loved mudcloth for so long, and this is a way to do so in a small space. I love your apartment, anyway, but your organization on top of the way it's organized are wonderful. Most of all I love your bedroom... so pretty, and I love your quiet time space by the window! I've had over a year and a half of losses, beginning with my husband's passing after a long illness, after 45 years. Then a cascade of losses, thankfully without deaths, of lifelong friends, close friends, family relationships, and health, and it's left me shattered. I know the Lord has a life path for me ahead, yet it's a mystery for the time being. I moved out of our master bedroom, as it was too painful to think of being there without my husband, and moved into a tiny bedroom. I'm trying to figure out a way to fit a desk in here with all the other furniture I need, where I can spread out for Bible study, but after desk #3's purchase, I'm not sure I can, lol. It's the room that gets the morning sun, but I'm tired of trying to have my quiet time with my materials spread out on my bed! Your video shows me I can do with tons less than I have, which is hopeful--even if it will be painful to let go of many of my "treasures." Thank you for sharing candidly but discreetly. You have such a lovely presence, and I pray that the Lord will restore your marriage. Whether He does or does not, you and your girls will go forward. Your inner strength (which is not to say it's in the natural), is the same strength I have from the Lord, in my shatteredness, for "when I am weak, then am I strong." Love Pricilla Shirer, too! BTW, my style is the opposite of yours...color, color, color, traditional/shabby chic/bohemian/totally eclectic... Found your gifted heirloom quilt so inspiring! Thanks for the tip that mudcloth symbols have meaning. God bless you richly!

I love every detail you've selected and the way everything looks so cohesive, including textures, colors, finishes and materials without sacrificing style. I really liked your home office, but my favorite area is the living room. That rug is amazing, and it goes perfectly with your tan leather sectional. Thank you so much🖤I downsized big time to this apartment (I sold the loveseat and coffee table for the patio set to better accommodate this space). You may not have a patio but you can create a peaceful space in whatever space you have!!!

Love it, I too had downsize from 3 bedroom to a 1 bedroom, ooh Sis talk about throwing away and giving away, I'm still wondering how, where, when lol, but I use to travel a lot, plus weddings, I had an outfit for all kinds of weddings and church events, pandemic put a hault to all that, my oldest got married, my daughter move to another state, my youngest started his life, so after 2 marriages and a manfriend still I'm redecorating and transitioning, telling my sugababies aka grands don't even touch that 😂 😂, you did a lovely job, thats my theme too african bohemian.

First of all... girl, you're so sweet 🍭. I love your beautiful home and every detail, love the boho / tribal / middle center combo. I don't know if the apartment is a rental or your own property, so you can do some functional changes, if was mine I would change the kitchen cabinets color in a lighter one(beige/grey, sugar color...) to light up the space. I would take off the wall between the office area and the storage room, creating a larger office with lots of storage 😜 and I would change the bed place from the window to the longest wall, letting the window "free" and to obtain a better feng shui, your sleep will be more calm. Ps: place the fiddle leaf trees close to the windows, not straight in the sunlight, but much closer than you have them now, elsewhere... are going to die, believe me, I killed a lot of them and are bloody expensive 😅😅

No problem, you can use removable wallpapers for the cabinets 😉 also the aloe vera plant from the countertop, move her straight to the balcony, it's an absolutely outdoor plant, needs all the light possible and sun as well. For indoor plants you should look after "monsterela" family plants( low light needs). 😊
